Thank you for the information. Cricut has been running off the rails for a while now. They should just stick with the machines, fixing bugs and let their own designers do the work they're being paid to do. Besides im worth more than $15. A design and no one is going to use my designs without my permission and me being paid for each use. A huge thank you!!

I had to jump on and comment, thank you for posting this! I will agree on all points, and I for one do not like when someone only says good things about a company no matter what that company does, because at that point, you know they're not being honest. That is one of the reasons I love watching you, you are honest, when you do not like something you tell us, I for one really appreciate that.

Thank you for this. Most people do not read the full contract they sign. I live my cricut explore air and mini press but I have issues with their customer service and other products. I would never sell my sole for $15 on my work. Also as you said contract like that tell me they are greedy and scammy as well as not confident in their products. People are crazy to sign up for this. And many of these even go further( maybe this does I haven't read it...) by saying we can change terms at any time . They also play to people's ego...people want to be able to say " cricut picked my stuff!" Don't fall for that.

It's frustrating when companies like Cricut have their T&C laid out in such a way that not everyone, for whatever reason, is going to fully understand what they are signing up for, only to discover the truth once they have signed on 'the dotted line'!
Love Cricut's Machines but as for them as a Company? Not so much. Their Products? Again, not so much. I've had so many problems.

Best video ever! You are one of my favorite creators to watch on RUclips! Your tutorials are awesome (easy to follow along, you're always honest & transparent & that is so valuable!) & I have learned a lot of awesome things from you 🙂 but this video here is epic! I wish people were more honest & transparent like this in the crafting/creators space. So many people don't know the ins & outs of these things & can get "blinded by shiny objects" - so important to talk about the "if it looks too good to be true..."
I have been more attuned to something weird going on with cricut after seeing Tanner from MGL do a few videos about the issues cricut should be fixing instead of growing at a more rapid pace than expected. **Growth sucks, but maybe it's like a weird way to save money on big-time advertising execs? The economy is weird (voting year) & what is better than "free advertising"?! Well, the fine print makes it free for them to use what you spent your time & money on. They probably also hope that the $45/ month is going to be spent with them because you need to buy more stuff to keep creating free content for them 🤦‍♀️🤬

@CorinneBlackstone well hopefully they don't start censoring designs! 🤣 I honestly hope they take the time to listen to what their users are saying & having issues with. Seriously a game changer in the crafting world over the years, but as much good as they have done - now is the time to go from a marathon pace to a mall walking pace. Keep your customers happy - fix your $h!t (technical issues, etc) - & improve the quality of your products! Minor positive changes in current products would be a HUGE win for them! Technology is a tough one, & it will never be perfect, but some of these issues make me use my Maker3 less & less. Which is sad!

Well that's one way to shut people up when they start complaining about design space.... As long as they are part of the program AND 2 years following, they can't say anything bad. Can you imagine the lawsuits that are going come from this? People aren't going to think about this ridiculous agreement a year and a half after they leave the program, they're going to comment in some Facebook group about design space being crap and the next thing they know they're going to end up in court- I don't know how this is even legal and I hope someone's attorney shuts it down because it's absolutely ridiculous.
And for those that don't think Cricut Actually come after you, why would they bother putting that 2-year stipulation in there if they weren't going to push it? Look at how they behaved from day one?
I managed a craft store way back in the late '80s and didn't like Provo Craft then (their parent company) And I don't like them now. Don't get me wrong, I've had just about every machine Cricut ever put out, including the Imagine (which I loved because apparently I'm one of 17 people who actually got a good machine 😂)- but I've never liked the customer service, I never agreed with the fact that before they had an online design program, we weren't allowed to use third party programs and they were actively putting stops in the machines to make sure we didn't. There were two or three other companies putting out programs we could have used- and did use until Cricut found out- and they were taking people to court for using the programs.
I love my machines, but if the software doesn't work they might as well be a boat anchor. Which is exactly why I went to silhouette and never looked back. ❤ Yes the software had a definite learning curve but once I got the hang of it, I can't imagine ever fighting with design space again.
Why would they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to stop us from using A third party online design program? They didn't have one to offer us yet so why would they care? Why? Because we didn't have to buy their ridiculously priced cartridges if we used the online third party program and they weren't going to stand for it.
They come out with infusible ink- (ya' know, sublimation?) And try to convince everyone that they have to CRICUT blanks it won't work. They were all over the Facebook groups shutting down anyone, including myself LOL, who was telling people it was simply sublimation and you could use any sublimation blank from anywhere- because again, they were losing money.
It's always been about the money, they don't care about customer service, they don't care about making a design program that actually works for the machines that HAVE to use that design program, they just keep coming out with new machine after new machine after new machine, instead of fixing the software that runs the machines.
It's disgusting and I don't understand how they get by with it.

I always appreciate when people publicly let others know when they believe a company is not doing something ethically or in the best interest of its customers. So thank you...I just happened across your vid in my feed 👍
I'm a fairly new & beginner user of Cricut and will never be an "influencer" but I still like to know what corporate & too often GREEDY businesses are doing to get our money and how they usually raise their prices whenever their massive profits show even the slightest dip and in this case, push their customers to give them something for nothing.
I'm a relatively new & not advanced #Cricut user and purchased a Joy a few years ago, then a Joy Xtra last year. They're great & handy little machines for practical & decorative purposes and I even considered getting a more advanced machine. But not right now. I just don't need it. I subscribe to DS for $10/mo. and like having all the choices it offers. But I think I may cancel subscription soon bc I just don't use it enough to make it worth to what ends up being $120/yr. Years ago (over 8 years) when I was going to buy an electronic die cutting machine, I research all companies. I found Cricut was the worst company. The discontinue their products too often, forcing customers to invest in new machines. Plus, the idea you need to upload your own designs into the program in their website and only be able to use them if you have an account was my decision maker.
I like freedom to design and save in my computer/CD/USB on wherever I want, and I like not to need internet to work on my designs. I know Cricut changed some of that, but still they are too possessive.
I choose Silhouette Cameo and never had any issues with the company, their machine or their program.

Sorry for this long comment, but it is relevant. I may not have all the details exactly correct, and this is my opinion. But I recall, noticing something about the way #Cricut did their marketing and promotion through their retailers, a few years ago,, that didn't set well with me. Not that long before AC MOORE, an arts & craft chain...smaller than Michael's, but fairly big in the eastern U.S., announced they were closing and did close their doors in 2021/22, I walked into my local AC MOORE's one day and was gobsmacked. I saw this WALL of nothing but Cricut machines and supplies and then at least a couple of rows of Cricut products. Many of the other brands of papercrafting supplies that I was used to seeing were not there or reduced or pushed to the back or not so easily located or seen.
I'm wondering if, at that time, in order for retailers to sell Cricut machines and supplies that they were FORCED to buy large quantities of Cricut inventory and then promote Cricut machines and supplies exclusively or almost exclusively? I'm then wondering if by being forced to buy large quantities of Cricut inventory (that they couldn't sell) and promote Cricut products so much, ended up in majorly contributing to AC MOORE's ultimate bankruptcy and negative profits and permanently closing their doors. I read that Michael's (a direct competitor of AC MOORE) purchased what was left of AC MOORE, so one has to wonder about that too. Now at least, I'm not seeing so much Cricut at Michael's...my only big arts/crafts store nearby (except for Joann's) ...and there are other brand machines & supplies prominently displayed along with Cricut. Joann's, who is now in financial trouble, also had prominent displays of Cricut machines and supplies that they don't have so much of now, but still have a lot of. I'm wondering...has Cricut contributed, to at least some, of the closing of crafting retailers who were forced to buy large quantities of their machines and supplies that they couldn't make enough profit on?

I get what you’re saying but people don’t have to join, they can just use their machines as before. It’s just an extra. What I feel it actually is is cheap advertising for cricut. It also needs policing properly because people will have to be very pro and no negatives and so because it’s paid it won’t be impartial so people need to be aware so I think the tag that states that needs to be very visible. The fact that you have to agree not to disparage them for TWO years after is utterly ridiculous. It’s misleading to people because things do go wrong or products don’t turn out great (a fair few of my pens!) you can’t actually tell people 😡
