- So Credit One Bank (#AD) hooked us up with the Chip Ganassi Racing team to try our hands at being pit crew, hearing some WILD stories about Will Ferrell, Dale Ernhardt, and lost thumbs, while also showing us how far we fall short on making it as these mutants/athletes/swimmers. #NASCAR #KyleLarson

My dream job is working in the pit crew for Nascar or at least be a mechanic at Nascar, I took 4 years of automotive classes in high school, anyone know the right school to work for Nascar as a member of a pit crew?
Nti. I'm going there year after next. I toured the school and it's great. Only official nascar school in the country.

They wear helmets, I've never seen them put the visor down but they do wear helmets with visors.

I so want to be on pit crew sadly I suck at math. Got to learn and focus if I want be an engineer.

I heard that as long as you pass the college math classes you don’t really have to worry too much abt the math when you’re an actual engineer

I'll be honest I had 4 friends practice for free for 3 months 4 times a week for 3 hours during week days and 8 hours on weekends to get good fast and ready for the snowball derby in the super latemodel and hitting all 5 on a wide five wheel in 4 seconds is alot harder then cup cars lugs way further apart I got them down to 20 seconds not bad for wide 5 wheels and a volunteer pit crew who never done it before under race conditions 14 for 4 tires a fuel and 11 for just two tires and a splash of fuel. I have a old school heavy 80 lb steel shop jack them guys back then where string as heck to jump over wall and runs with them I prefer my 5 lbs aluminum 3 pump jack lol and the tires with wheels and air weights close to about 60 lbs and nascar they weigh about 70lbs with wheel tire abd air. And reason guy who lost his thumb and didn't say anything until end of race is due to loosing his job over a accident on his first ever time pitting in a live race and would have been fired if he didn't finish pitting 6 more times xuse they relied on him to be there all day and he felt he can't let them down and nascar teams are that rough these days where you get hurt or cause a penalty or anything wrong on pit road you might ad well be prepared to be fired come Monday morning first thing when called to the owners and crew chiefs office no doubt if they fire ppl over 2 tenths of a second
