Thanks a bunch for this video it helped me figure out how to fix my loose kayak coaming on an old fiberglass kayak. Went super smooth making the u shaped channel and then back filling with thickened epoxy. Love all your videos and thanks again!
Great video Rossco. It's interesting to see how much work actually goes into building a kayak, especially when it's someone who's very particular like you are. Great stuff. One great thing about it too was NO BLOODY AMSR!!!!!!! 😄😄😄😄😄 Cheers Pete....
I could have used these videos 20 years ago Ross. Once had a gallon bucket of filled epoxy catch fire. It was over catalyzed and just more than I could lay up that fast. When it started smoking, I rushed it out of the shop. Not my proudest moment but, I was just learning to work with the stuff. The shock set the lesson in my mind.
Great video Ross. Good to see that many times, the best result comes from the simple solutions. What a revolution tape was. Imagine not having it available! Really looking forward to learning how you join deck to hull.
Ive leqrned to mix the resin and mekp before adding filler to make sure they are mixed properly. Is there really any difference? I can see the benefit of not having to rush as much by adding the mekp last
I would like to talk to you, I'm about to retire in a few months, and I've been thinking to retire to Mexico (right now I'm PR in USA) and I had some experience i epoxy resins at the start of my carrer, you make me remember those times, but the thinking I got is I would like to open a shop doing similar in Mexico, of course I dont have your experience in all the fiberglass, and I dont have any mold to start, but I think if you are interested, me and my kids would like to start something similar in Mexico, and be glad to have you as partner, if you would like, just start my channel
Excellent quality....the chinese will never take that away from you. When you were taping..your experience was showing again... Cheers
Chinese are still happy. They make the masking tape!

That coaming isn't going anywhere.
