  • This is my approach to create the cover of the Necronomicon Ex Mortis of the Evil Dead Franchise.
    This is done by printing the structure, glueing it to card board and put thin artificial leather on it.
    There will be a Part 2, where I'll insert the binded inlay.

    Started printing the files yesterday. Can’t wait to get this project finished! We need part 2! Great work and the prints look great!

    Brilliant video... I modded it slightly and used your idea and built it around a standard A5 binder. - Resized the parts to fit the cover and added a few bits - awesome.. Here is the complete build, along with all the parts. (you can add A5 pages and use it as your own notebook / journal.)

    Looks amazing.
    I'm not quite clear on exactly what material you used to cover it though.

      It‘s 0.8mm artificial leather called LEDERETT. Looks totally convincing and can be handled with no problem.

    What are the measurements of the cover and did you use really thin leather to make it more pliable?

      I used 0.8mm leatherette, which worked great!

    Cool. I do some real leather embossing with leather stamps, but it's not as fast as this technic and it's limitted to a certain high/thikness.

    Amazing work! Bravo :) Could you possibly combine the pieces for the front, back and spine for larger printers? 3 pieces to print rather than 10? Please and thank you :)

    Awesome ! What glue did you use?

    • @hen3drik
      @hen3drik  3 года назад

      It is PATTEX Spray Permanent. I tried various brands, this is the only one that really works to glue the artificial leather.

      @@hen3drik wow.. I tried to recreate your awesome work and tried to use TESA pernament but it doesnt work.. So you spray it. w8 few minuters and then push leather inside ?

    • @hen3drik
      @hen3drik  3 года назад

      @@Kalusdono I didn’t wait, because it had to be wet. It‘s really got to do with the glue: I tried UHU spray, also didn’t work. Ended up spraying smaller areas, then pressing the leather against. In a nutshell: It‘s really crucial to have the right sticky glue and work fast. Also be aware to firmly press it in the folds, otherwise the structure of the print will eqalize too much.

      I can’t get pattex shipped to the US. Any suggestion on an alternative spray?
