I said work smart not hard and promised to search for a solution to pull data from the Finnish Health Site (which only displays data for each day updating at 12:00 noon and now previous records on old data) so I want it to add a new cell after 12:00 noon every day so she can produce charts with all the recorded data.
Hey Jake, do you know how to run this process for Office 365? Went to try and re-create stock data exactly like your video and Excel doesn't bring up the browser and arrows to choose data to import, nor do I get the option to choose refresh rate, etc. Any help is GREATLY appreciated! @timevaluevideos

=VALUE(LEFT(cellreference,6)) . The 6 is the number of digits. If your stock price is 1 digit (9.34), then put 4, if its 2 digits (23.57) then put 5, if it's 3 digits (255.61) then put 6, etc.

Hi Jake,This does not work for me when I do multiple symbols. I did 28 symbols, one at a time. And then I linked each one of them back to columns a, b, c, d, e in a summary form -- for : Symbol, Co Name, Last price, and change. I set the Properties to refresh the data when opening the file -- bc I only am interested in the last close. When I was done, it worked great until it decided to re- update the data. Then everything blew up. None of the links in my summary columns gave the correct data anymore. The data wound up in different rows than it was before. My first data set was for F -- Ford motor. The price of Ford does not show up in my ford columns anymore. The whole thing is useless after hours of work. The first time this happened I had not saved the bad update changes yet. I closed the file and reopened it.. It was OK for a few seconds and then it started updating the data and it all went bad. In addition, the update process took about a minute or two for the 28 symbols.
You said you modified it (with a change that shouldn't have been a problem) because you only wanted the last close. Have you tried doing it EXACTLY like presented so see if that failed, too? I am about to try the same thing for about 20 stocks...sure hope it works.

it hard to do with Google spreadsheet. Google spread sheet do not have the ability to pull the data from website. You have to do on Excel first and then copy the data to paste in Google sheet.
It is very easy. this is one example to get Last traded price of HDFC bank in NSE . Here we need to use googlefinance function in google sheet cell to get the data. eg : =GOOGLEFINANCE("NSE:HDFCBANK","PRICE"). An Update. Every time I close and reopen the file, the info comes out in a different order. So the links in the summary columns give bad info.
