@@SewSewDrew I don’t think so, l think it was just a white cotton lining and the suit was made with a heavy weight material that had a Hawaiian print!! I lived in my swim suit so it had to be durable!!🤣
I remember the style you have for the 1970 one! I graduated from high school in 1971. I started sewing when I was a freshman in 67-68. I took Home-Ec at that time. I know they don't offer that in schools anymore. It's too bad! I love it that you sew!❤
The 1970's pattern with the handkerchief sleeves on the flowy top. . my best friend in high school had a couple of tops like this, tho I did not, but I guarantee you that they were definitely all the rage. .brings back good memories.
I think that's why I love sewing it brings me back all of the good memories of my Grandmother. She didn't teach me to sew but she did teach me embroidery. I am a highly anxious person, even as a kid the same and watching her sew was comparable to a mother singing her baby a lullaby. Thanks for sharing. It made me smile 😊
I have got to learn to sew!!! I have my great grandmothers 1st electric cast iron singer 1930 and a 1990's singer ! I'm ashamed of myself- there are so many of these patterns if used with modern fabrication be AMAZING!
I don’t know what make nine is? You’re gonna make nine dresses 👗 wow. you should see my kitchen table. I pulled out stuff a month ago and I can’t even finish one dress or I can’t even get started. I need a class I need someone to help me once I get started, learn, maybe I can make more than one dress, but I can’t even breathe a pattern right now.
This was a old dream! You should see my sewing room I have like 5 projects in different stages of completion and I’m feeling so uninspired and unmotivated by it!! Maybe my next video will be one of me cleaning and organizing my sewing room and finishing the garments that are everywhere
Those are not flare pants. They are called bell bottom pants. That is what they are called in the 70s. Not flare then. Flare pants and bell bottoms are not the same..
@@swannoir7949 no it’s not. In the 60sand70s it’s bell bottoms.no pants were called flair pants. I’m 66 and I know this. Flair wasn’t until the 80s . By the way how old are you if I may ask?
@@rhondareese1607 Born and raised in the 70s, 51 years old, ma'am. I've seen them referred to as flared at the time in fashion magazines. Bell bottoms were huge at the bottom -- not straight.
These are absolutely beautiful women dress so classy back then and yes they made their own clothes
My mother made that exact 2 piece bathing suit for me!!❤
What’s the lining stretch?

They definitely should still have home economics in school. But I just make sure to teach the lessons at home to my little ones. 😊

Love these fitted tops/blouses.
Me too! I think I will be making them very soon!
I love these ❤
Deciding which to do first is the issue 🤣
These are gorgeous :-)
Thank you! 😊
That 1930’s dress pattern you showed has some funny bust shaping. That would be odd to doe an FBA on. And I need to do that on everything.
SAME!!!
I made that McCall pattern when I was in high school.
How did it turn out?
@@SewSewDrew I made the top twice.
I have both the first and fourth pattern you showed and would love to see make either one because I’ve been too scared to try.😊
Coming soon!
I prefer vintage patters the originals these reproduction are a lot to be desired.
I want to 1944 one B6485 Butterick retro.
I would love to sew. But, fabric for apparel is slim even on line
This is true. What country are you in?
