For approximately 3 years from 1963 i was the dj at the Sink club.all the quotes in the film are absolutely spot on/It was a place for meeting and dancing.As well as records we also had live music including such stalwart merseybeat groups The Hideaways,The Clayton Squares folk with The Spinners,comedy with The Scaffold and of course for Neil jazz.In the film you see me introducing Neil to the music of one of his favourite musicians Sidney Bechet . Hi Norman I went to the Sink when it had a brief revival a few years back when Stan and Pat were DJing. I remember you doing a few stints too around town some time ago. I was a Mod from the 79 revival as I was born in 1964. This is a great video and if I remember correctly you have a great record collection. You may want to have a look at my channel on here. I'm new in Liverpool, i came just month ago so I was looking for some place where to spend New Year's Eve. I didn't know that Magnet is basicly disco, soul & funk club so i was sooo surprised. I went there because of house party situated downstairs, but eventually stayed upstairs all night and enjoyed GREAT load of quality music! :) btw, i have no idea who was the disco dj upstairs that night, could somebody point me? maybe there are some mixes online...

I thought I used to have acopy but I know he worked on it more after I left. Are you still in contact with him? It's good to see it. I did some of the interveiwing and am dancing. BTW I' m still djing, I do a night in london called Crawdaddy. Best wishes. See you in the Pool sometime. x
The club has moved recently to another cellar club not far away, I haven't been yet, but it's got good reviews, I went to the old SINK last year, it was excellent
It says just below the video that "This video previously contained a copyrighted audio track. Due to a claim by a copyright holder, the audio track has been muted." Seems totally unfair that the whole video has been muted. Can I dispute this? Also, did anybody happen to copy the original You Tube posting above, before it was muted??? If so, please let me know, we'd love to have a copy so that we can reintroduce it in some way back onto The 'Sink Soul Club' group page.
