Think about this: if Jesus were not God, but was just a man, how would that change the way you live? You likely may stop seeing Jesus as Divine and see him as a man who was a bit crazy at times; as a man who ran around claiming to be God, the fulfillment of the Old Testament. And you likely would not place as much weight into what He says or how He guides you.

Thank you so much for this podcast. I have a cousin who can make me very angry. She is one who has no filter. She says what she thinks rather it hurts or not, she tells me what to do and she treats me like a child. When I get angry I just have to walk away when possible so I don’t say something I will regret later. She knows she is like this but doesn’t change it.

My word for 2023 is humility and this was such a reminder of what God has been showing me in how I am to seek to understand others not be understood by them, putting their needs ahead of my own and being a servant to my family. Especially during disagreements with my husband. And it never fails that when I humble myself and listen to the holy spirit prompting me to submit, I win and the enemy loses!

I only read King James Version.
Why does this make me cry! I don't get it! Wow the spirit is powerful, I just don't get why this makes me cry... So odd.
I have had conversations with people and friends who believe in "wrong" or "evil" and "right" or "good", and then they go on to tell me exactly where the line is and why I should hew to those lines. :) In fact, it seems more popular now than ever for many people to decide their own boundaries and not only stick to them themselves, but demand that others respect their decision of where the line lies.
This is where God comes in. I do believe that there is an absolute "good" and an absolute "evil" (say, pushing someone down a flight of stairs, for instance), and that God has provided us the path to understanding that. Now it's our job to learn it. Is that correct? I'm trying so hard - I've decided to study the Bible this year rather than just read it again, and even choosing the proper version was difficult!
I am a native French (well, canadien French) speaker, so of course whichever version the Catholics use has been the one I've read. But now I see that there is more in other versions - I've have chosen the New American Standard version. I am 8 verses into Genesis 1 and I already have questions! This is going to take awhile...:)
Hi Rose....to understand the grace of God, and what Jesus accomplished and did for us, it is better to start reading the Bible from the new testament and more specifically the book of John. Now let me explain what I've said below:
a) The Grace of God- this means the goodness of God, His love for us and toward us. When Jesus died on the cross for us, His death produced salvation for the whole world. Salvation encompasses so much, not only the forgiveness of our sins. It includes healing, prosperity, favour, peace of mind, joy and many many other things.
b) Why the new testament?- The old testament talks about the laws, like what to do and what not to do and is a type and shadow of what was to come. So, when you don't fully understand the word of God (the events that took place, the nature of God and how God dealt with man in the old testament), you can get confused. The new testament explains, expounds and shows the goodness and faithfulness of God and His great love for man.
c) Why the book of John?- The book of John was written from the perspective of how much Jesus loves us and His heart towards us. When you read John, you see the heart of God and you begin to see and experience His love. That's why I always tell people to begin with the book of John
Now please note all the books of the Bible were written by people like you and me but they were inspired by God, so every word written is God speaking to us.
There is so much to learn about God, His nature and love towards us, so little by little you will begin to get revelation of who God is because He is the one that gives us the revelation. God is love and He loves us very much.

I just started listening to your podcasts and i am really enjoying it .
Over the last 6 months or so something has been kind of bothering me that I'd love to hear your perspective on... I've come to learn that the son of God was not called Jesus when he was walking this earth ,it was Yeshua which translates to Joshua in english so why do we call him Jesus. I kind of feel like we've been lied to about his name for a long time. He deserves ultimate respect so why aren't we taught to call him by his real name.
Why were the children naked when they got baptized? Is that a Russian thing?
I don't understand this "sacrifice" part in the bible and "for us" why?

Dear @IceysMoment, I hope I am able to explain, when God created the Universe and Adam & Eve, it was perfect, the Adam & Eve rebelled against God by disobeying and eating of the the fruit of a tree He forbid, in that moment sin entered, so from that moment on "us" the humans that was born after Adam & Eve (all the people on the Earth), was born into sin, where people "us" still try to control our own lives, we do not rely on God for our everyday life, we think we can do it all on our own. in the Old Testemant when the people sinned (they did their own thing instead of relying on God's guidance, provision etc) they will repent and the laws in the Old Testemant stipulated a sacrifce and type of sacrifce to atone for the sin commited (for exampe an animal without any blemish or defect).
God wants a relationship with us and in the New Testament God send us (all people on Earth His Son who were without blemish or defect to be sacrificed for our sin (past, present and future sins) and,
in Jonn 3 verse 16 to 18 (the Message translation of the Bible) tells us (all people ojn the Earth) "this is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son, And this is why: so that no one need to be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted, anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? because of the person's failure to believe in the on-of-a-kind Son of god when introduced to him"
@IceysMoments I hope I did not confuse you more, the "for us" is you and me and all the people in the World, God loves us and he wants to have a relationship with where we trust Him and we talk (pray) to him about all and everything in out lives (our joys our hurts our hopes our dreams) He listens, He cares and He will nerver leave you.

No offense, but there is no goodness in the false belief of Santa Clause to the point a parent actually lies to their precious child.
You want your child to believe in Jesus yet you lie about Santa....that means they may not believe in Jesus once they know you lied about Santa.
My children and I watched Santa movies and stuff but I always made sure they knew it was pretend, a fantasy, but that Jesus is real. And definitely no elf on the shelf.

I and my Father are One. They're One in spiritual unity, but not the same. One doesn't mean the same. A husband and wife are One in unity, spiritual unity, but they are not the same person. God is Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is a man, God's son, with God's seed in him, God's Holy Spirit in him. Jesus Christ was born of God's spiritual seed. He had to be God's only begotten son, a human, in order to fulfill the law and to sacrifice himself for our sins. Jesus Christ sits on the righthand of our Father. He didn't ever say he is God. He calls God, his Father. He claimed to be God's son. Jesus Christ didn't claim to be God, our Heavenly Father, the Creator.
It means one and the same. In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God and is God. Thru the Word all creation was made. And the Word became flesh to redeem us.

There is a lot to learn about Jesus Christ. There is another Testament of Jesus Christ! Another witness of him being resurrected and the Son of God!
