As a recovering alcoholic, this idea of pairings has always been a soar spot. I love my whisky, I love my gin, I love my cognac. But I love them all too much. I feel like I'm missing out or great parings, but know that I wouldn't be able to fully enjoy my stick if I was still drinking because I would be too hammered. These days I've been drinking herbal tea with my sticks. I find the aromatic qualities of different teas actually go quite nice. So there's that.
Real cool you did this for us. I will be trying these out. Non alcoholic 3 years now plus I don’t drink coffee either. I usually do earl grey, chai tea, cream soda, or take a swing with some functional beverages.
Coffee is obviously the best pairing with cigars, with scotch and bourbon second (in my opinion), but I'd definitely try soda. I do like a nice root beer, cheers :)
You wouldn't drink something that to YOU was off-putting or not enjoyable whilst smoking. Sounds like you've paired coffee and sparkling water with Cigars l0l.
These are fantastic! In your first order, Charlie normally sends a recommended pairing chart for wrappers/origins to soda. Examples are: Candlewood with Honduran/Costa Rican or a mild Dominican. Tower 44 with Habano wrappers, Cuban-style or anything with leathery notes. DEFINITELY check these out!!
Coffee with french vanilla creamer or Darjeeling tea with oat milk for warm pairings. Dr. Pepper as a standard but also Sprecher Rootbeer and Sprecher Cream Soda are my other favorite cold pairings.
Been following your channel for a little while now, new to the cigar world and I’m looking forward to familiarizing myself with all the different cigars this world has to offer. I just placed my 1st order today from your shop, can’t wait to get it in the mail. Love your channel!!
As an ex raging alcoholic and a current coffee addict, you’ve peaked my curiosity. The stuff is a little pricey but really not bad. I think I’ll try a 12 pack of the Royale. Cool video. Something I’ve never even thought of. I just drink coffee all day long so…
With a Connecticut Coca-Cola, with a natural black tea. A whiskey is only for the boldest cigar because for me it always overpowers the cigar if the cigar isn't super strong.
Okay so you’ve got me curious. I used to work in the wine and spirits sales world and never heard anything from anyone pairing white wine with cigars. What type of wine do you prefer because I’m genuinely curious.
I usually go with a ginger ale, when I am am not drinking but coffee is another option. I good French press black after dinner with a stronger cigar is great.
One of my favorite pairings is an Asylum 13 and a peach peace tea, raspberry peace tea or their snow berry peace tea. All 3 of those teas pair so well with that tea.
lol almost forgot to answer the question 😅 dr Pepper is my number one go to I’m surprised I haven’t thought of cream soda. Thanks again for the video Tim.
Yep def gonna order these, i usually drink this raspberry kombucha my wife found, its great. I dont drink ive been drunk like 4 times my whole life and im almost 36.
After your brief mention of these sodas in a short you did I bought a sample pack of them. They were pretty tasty, and the company included a few goodies as well as a pairing list and drink mix suggestion. While I thought they were good, I think my craft root beer and whisky pairings are still better.
Tim! Thanks for doing this video. As a person in long term recovery I would love to see you go down a NA pairing rabbit hole. For me it’s Hanks Vanilla Cream Soda, Appalachia Brewing Root Beer, or coffee.
Ordered 2, 12 packs now. 6 bottles for each of the 4 flavors. Total $114.96 standard shipping (only option for shipping unfortunately.) In case anyone was curious price wise.
Being a diabetic, I would never try these. That being said, I really liked this paring video. Makes me want to do some more non alcoholic exploring. But for now, I go with zero sugar A&W root beer. Thanks for another awesome video.
I agree with the guy who said he just drinks what he's already drinking for me usually a coke and that works well but I've been working long hours lately and the NOS energy drink works well with cigars for me
My go to on the wknds would definitely have been Buffalo Trace or Wellers. These days I've dialed it way back and ditched the alcohol. I enjoy my stogies with ice water, sparkling water, straight up dark coffee w/out sugar or cream or coconut water.
Thank you for the non-alcoholic pairing choices. It is awesome to see something for the soper community on pairing. $3.79 a bottle isn't bad, but it's kind of a gamble buying a 12 pack. Be cool to be able to buy one or two before investing $45 plus shipping for 12.
When I'm not pairing with red wine or whiskey, my most common pairing is coffee; sometimes black, sometimes with cream, sometimes mocha. Depends on the cigar. My buddy in New Orleans is a recovering addict, so he doesn't drink at all. Instead, he really enjoys Abita brand root beer with his cigars (His favorite cigar brand is Tatuaje.) Legal Disclosure: _Neither_ of us is associated in _any_ way with _either_ company. He's just a big fan of their products, and it seemed appropriate for _this_ specific video. All that aside, I'm enough of a cigar geek to have created a few other cigar geeks, over the years. I think I just found a Christmas stocking stuffer...for _me_ (and maybe them).
I've tried Coke zero, Dr pepper and root beer as those last two seem to be the most popular ones. Little too sweet for me though, I actually just roll right back to my Coke zero. But after seeing some of these comments I'm definitely going to have to try a cream soda. I know I love me some and whiskey!!! 😎🤙🏼
Black coffee is my go to. I use Black Rifle whole bean JB. Brewing in a percolator gives much better taste than using a drip coffee maker. Almost any cigar goes well with black coffee.
I don't like alcohol with a cigar. I think each makes the other less than what it is by itself. Coffee is my go-to. I like juices as well. Water of course. I don't prefer anything carbonated really, but I'd try these sodas if I happened across them at the store. I don't think I'd order them. More of an impulse buy that I wouldn't feel too bad about.
Depends on the cigar. Some cigars really work well with cream soda. Other are better suited with Dr. Pepper. And, ones with chocolate notes like the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial pair really well with coffee. Still, the strangest pairing I've come across that work well is sungrowns with pasta. The RP Sungrown and Oliva G Sungrown really come on strong with notes of sun-dried tomatoes.
My daily go to for cigar pairing is coffee or a bottle of very cold water. Trailing far behind in third place is red wine, something like Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bergundy or Merlot. I like the taste of root beer or cream soda but the sweetness is just too overpowering and it ends up giving me a very strange lingering aftertaste after a few drinks.
Outside of rum and bourbon, I really like nicer root beers (they aren’t as sweet tasting to me as a&w etc) and I really like ginger beer (not ale). Nicer (for the same reason as root beer) cream soda is also on my list. Morning cigars are always paired with hazelnut nespresso pods. My wife made my ninja drip machine disappear, so I’m stuck with the nespresso pods.
A&W root beer is £28 GBP for 24 cans over here in the UK!... Which I end up buying lots of. If I still lived in Wisconsin, I imagine Sprecher root beer would be even better. :D
honestly, a coffee or coke zero is enough to make me happy. Im strict on when and where I enjoy my vices, so tobacco and alcohol are things I very rarely ever pair. Id love to try different things though to find something new
Unusual but orange juice about 30% and sparkling water 70% mixed with medium bodied cigars. Coffee of course. Black or black coffee 70% and vanila coffee 30% mixed. Cream soda and Doctor Pepper. I don't drink alcohol but tried a medium bodied cigar with a glass of red wine and didn't really like it. Never really intend to drink any alcohol till my last breath if I can.
Dr. Pepper will always be the GOAT combo with cigars
This is controversial
Try an Amaretto like Disaronno mixed with coke if you want an alcoholic version of Dr Pepper, tastes just like it
🇺🇸
I pair my Dr. Pepper with the trash can.
Thank you that’s exactly how I feel !
Very curious about these sodas, but at $45 for 12 + $12 for shipping means I'll be sticking with bourbon, root beer, coffee, & Dr pepper. 😆
Try cream soda......
@@tombogaert1015cream soda is fire!
Vanilla cream soda is top tier
@@65cbtengr oh yeahhhh!!!

Soar to great heights my guy
Im happy for ur sobriety. I my am an alcoholic but with beer. I do wish one day to be like u
Thank you for this. Being sober it is fun to find nice drinks.

I never really "pair" anything with my cigars I just drink whatever I'm normally drinking. Usually either coffee or flavored sparkling water.
You wouldn't drink something that to YOU was off-putting or not enjoyable whilst smoking. Sounds like you've paired coffee and sparkling water with Cigars l0l.
mornings I really enjoy a cold brew coffee just black, with a cigar.

Lattes, iced coffee, root beer, and cream soda are my must have pairings with my cigars.
I can’t do lattes with cigars. The milk in the latte ruins it for me. Coffee in general though is 🤌🏽
Same for me, I love a good coffee with all my cigars.
When I smoke my cigars, I pair mine with Ginger Ale .
That's my #1
Ale 8 Ginger Ale for me

Vanilla Coke, Dr. Pepper and glass bottle cream soda are my top 3.
Mineral water with ginger tea and lime. I make a ginger tea by boiling fresh ginger and straining out the solids. Great palate cleanser.
Ibought a 4 pack to try. Typically love coffee or white wine to pair with a stick.
Okay so you’ve got me curious. I used to work in the wine and spirits sales world and never heard anything from anyone pairing white wine with cigars. What type of wine do you prefer because I’m genuinely curious.

Paired the Royale with a regular Padron - it was fantastic!
Sound Awesome!! I love bourbon but I don't drink and drive so these would be nice for when I'm out 😎
lol almost forgot to answer the question 😅 dr Pepper is my number one go to I’m surprised I haven’t thought of cream soda. Thanks again for the video Tim.
Hi I tried the Dr pepper cream soda for pairing.. soon went back to straight Dr pepper
Yep def gonna order these, i usually drink this raspberry kombucha my wife found, its great. I dont drink ive been drunk like 4 times my whole life and im almost 36.
Black coffee is #1 but recently I’ve discovered low sugar sodas like Poppi and Lollipop
Organic 100% juice Black Cherry for darker cigars or Pear for lighter ones. So good!
Organic black cherry juice is so good with a cigar
After your brief mention of these sodas in a short you did I bought a sample pack of them. Thank-you for making this video as I don't drink
I've done bourbon, Dr Pepper, Ginger Ale, and Flavored sparkling water
Thanks for this video I will definitely try these! I love weird sodas 🥤
Coffee is definitely my go to though and hear me out ... monster original flavour has a distinct and interesting flavor profile.
Love ya Tim ❤
Monsters zero are my favorite for cigars, that and sitting around a campfire with my best buds
My fall pairing is Kentucky fire cured with pumpkin spice latte! On a normal day, I pair with iced tea or rootbeer

Tim - I would suggest dry tonic water as a fantastic pairing for a medium bodied cigar - it cleans out your mouth and doesn't overpower at all
Coffee ☕️ is my universal choice
I agree with the guy who said he just drinks what he's already drinking for me usually a coke and that works well but I've been working long hours lately and the NOS energy drink works well with cigars for me
I had an IBC Cream Soda with a Factory Smokes sweet recently. Not a great cigar, I know, but with the soda it was a pretty nice pairing.
My go to on the wknds would definitely have been Buffalo Trace or Wellers. These days I've dialed it way back and ditched the alcohol. I enjoy my stogies with ice water, sparkling water, straight up dark coffee w/out sugar or cream or coconut water.

They have a 4 pack available to try all the flavors
Black coffee brings out the sweetness in everything and cigars bring our the natural sweetness of the black coffee
Barqs red creme soda and pineapple pop are my top choices
Cream sodas always the best pair.
Black coffee or cappuccino are my favorite non-alcoholic cigar pairings...

if I'm not drinking alcohol or coffee... I drink root beer. But whisky is better lol I will have to try these at the very least. Sounds tasty!
I love coffee and root beer (I have 3 different craft root beers in the fridge) with my cigars.
my favorite non-alcoholic pairing with any cigar is Ginger Beer
Those sound fantastically interesting. I doubt I'll ever have chance to try them, unless they become wildly popular(i am in Europe)

Espresso without sweeteners, sometimes a little half & half, or Yerba Mate with mint.
Barq root beer goes so well with cigars.
I can't have sugary sodas, so I'll have to stick with my coffee, teas, seltzer, and water pairings.
Very interesting video, though 👍
Allspice would usually be used in a pumpkin pie or some old fashion pies. Fantastic spice usually used with cinnamon 12:31
A good black coffee is my favorite non-alcoholic beverage to pair with a cigar.

Think youll ever do a review on the intemperance volstead ? Amazing cigar imo just not many reviews love to see what you think about .
Oddly ive found Fresca soda to with a nice medium cigar is great
Yall should sell them in lounge to enjoy a cigar with 🙏🏽
I'm exclusive with Pepsi and cigars or coffee . Black.
Coffee...then Berry Gatorade afterwards
The Romeo y Julieta Maduro and Macanudo Inspirado Green pairs well with apple cider.
Chai tea and a ligero maduro is a good pairing
Cream soda always pairs well.
I love a good chocolate milk when I smoke. Calder's, which is local to Michigan, is the best.
Thanks
I don’t drink anymore either, I typically will pair flavored/black coffee or tea with my cigars..
Very strong iced tea, easy on the ice and a Montecristo #1 is some fine living.
Find yourself some Moxie! It's a New England thing so might be hard to find out west.
Root beer gang vote here
Root beer(zero sugar A&W) but really any, diet coke, coffee and water as someone who is sober and smokes 3-6 a day.
McDonald’s Coke with a full stomach is my go to with a cigar…especially a bolder Nicaraguan smoke.
Coffee, Sweet Tea, Dr. Pepper, I may try Cheerwine it seems like it may be good
Usually just Diet Coke but recently a nice Coke Zero Cherry makes cigar flavors pop
I like infusing coffee in a&w cream soda with my cigars
Sparkling Water, flavored Sparkling Water, non alcohol cocktails, and yes MONSTER
Black tea, plain will clean the palate for the next pair
Coffee is my go to with bourbon a close 2nd. If its a soda, Dr Pepper all the way!
Rum is excellent for cigars
Dark soda pops like root beer Pepsi coke and Dr Pepper. Are my cigar pairing
Earl grey tea almost exclusivly for me.
A&W cream soda, every time.
Coffe or unsweetened tea. The licorice note would make me hurl, allspice is horrible on its own. Great video, thanks
Dr. Pepper will work wiyh damn-near every cigar. Manhattan Special coffee soda too
I would drink either coke, club soda, or coffee
wine and nice cigar is also good guys
