    I never understood the devotion to Mary until I meditated on the Luminous mystery....The Wedding at Cana. It suddenly overwhelmed me how much Mary loves us if she can be so caring about such a little thing as running our of wine. Mary is our good Mother and cares about our littlest problems. I have been devoted to her ever since and have consecrated myself to her.

    When I fall asleep reciting the rosary I know that's "true devotion" because I am exhausted and I am still putting The Blessed Mother first before my own needs.

    This was my first time seeing the video. I had heard on EWTN reference St. Louis de Montfort, but without any in-depth explanation. Within the first 10 minutes of hearing Father Worthley in this video, I ordered the book. I look forward to watching the other presentations by Father Worthley.

    You're right. They just remind us of the people in our big family of the Church. And the memory of them encourages us to follow the Lord Jesus Christ just as they did.

      You seem to have missed the purple table in the left corner of the video. THIS is the "dining table" that you disparage so much. Most churches have a traditional tabernacle, like this, with the table in front of it. I don't know why people like you make such a big fuss about this. I love that the priest shares the consecration of the host with us, instead of doing it behind his back as if he is talking to a statue like a pagan instead of the omnipresent God. Vatican II removed some of the obvious pagan aspects in the Mass that resembled the adoration given to the pagan Roman gods in their temples (and were still being worshiped when the Mass was created). God is NOT in a statue. God is everywhere. We do not have to kneel before a crucifix to talk to God. Inviting us into the consecration is a beautiful thing. We are allowed to witness a MIRACLE every time we go to Mass.

    Father Jason.
    You are truly Holy Priest. I wish if you were near me to go to your mass every day.
    People are wandering in the darkness, and they will never see the true light unless they have a true devotion to our Lady, our Queen, our Mother. They will never understand because they never try to go to Mary and ask for help. I once use to denies our lady and one day I seek her help and she responded, and now Im devoted to her and through Mary we go to Jesus in perfect way.
    I will put it in this way. My kids are out and playing in the mud, than they call on their Mother, so The mother, will take off their dirty clothes, shower them, dress them with clean clothes and bring them to me so I can see them cleaned.
    Those people says that they Know Jesus Christ! So my question is ,which Jesus Christ? because there are many Jesus.
    each Christian domination has created there own Jesus to suite them selves.
    But for us Catholic, we know one Jesus, the one who was borne of the Virgin Mary. The virgin Mary is the only person who can tell me about Jesus, example: what color is his eyes, what did he like for food, how tall was he, what He wants from me, how to go to him, So the Virgin Mary knows everything about Our lord and we should go to her if we desire to get who died on The cross for all humanity.

    We do not do idol worship. Mother Mary and the saints intercede for us - which means they act as mediators for us. Its like the saint is the teacher who is talking to god who is the principal any you are the student. So the pictures and sculptures are reminders to us that we can ask the saints to help us in our daily needs and wants. Father Jason Worthley has given an amazing sermon on True Devotion to Mary.

    Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only mediator any Christian will ever need. To stray to others before Him is to deny the work of the cross and the Gospel.

    • @fatherjasonworthley3
      @fatherjasonworthley3  8 лет назад +3

      I agree with you. But when we look at the life of Christ, we see that He was devoted to Mary from the Incarnation to the Cross, and to Pentecost. Jesus leads us to the Father and we should watch how He does this. For reasons known to Him alone, He chooses to do this with Mary - even though that was not necessary. That's the way He chose. Therefore, Mary is part of the plan of Eternal Wisdom.

    • @222figaro
      @222figaro 8 лет назад +3

      Of course Mary is His mother so He loved her. His devotion to His mother is as we have devotion to our own mothers. However devotion in the religious sense is prayer and Christ did not pray to His mother and so we as Christians should not pray to her either. We are to follow Christ and all of His examples and He did not express piety to His mother Mary. Eternal wisdom is from the Holy Spirit not Mary. Thank you for sharing however none of what you say is biblical nor is it part of the walk with Jesus Christ of Nazareth.You have direct connection with Him, if you chose to circumvent that with His earthly mother, then He will never know you and will not be your intercessor to the Father on judgment day. Read the bible for further clarification on being born again with the Holy Spirit.

      If Joseph did not devote himself to Mary, he would never have known the Lord Jesus. Think about that. His devotion to Mary gave him the closest living relationship to the Lord Jesus that anyone other than Mary could ever have.

    • @222figaro
      @222figaro 8 лет назад +2

      Jason-Mary is Joseph's wife not mediatrix. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is Lord and Savior to both Mary and Joseph. They worship Him and Him alone. No matter how you word it the result is circumventing the relationship with Christ by other means other than the means He intended us to walk with Him. His Holy Spirit. One will never know the power of the Holy Spirit unless they relinquish all devotion to Jesus Christ of Nazareth and no other. Anyway we can go round and round on this with no resolution. We have different Gospels.
      God bless.

    • @fatherjasonworthley3
      @fatherjasonworthley3  8 лет назад +1

      I see that I stumped you. So, if Joseph had rejected Mary - as he originally planned - would he have known Jesus in the way that he did? Even the angel of the LORD instructed a man - Joseph - to be devoted to Mary, and that led Joesph to Jesus very quickly!

  • @antoniraj531

    If Pope John Paul 2 had the words "totus tuus" inscribed in his coat of arms and had true devotion to mother of God, then why did he disobey Mary in not consecrating Russia? He didn't stop the holy communion in the hand, brought the leaders of other religions to Vatican to promote peace, kissed Koran, appointed many liberal cardinals and Bishops, allowed altar girls....etc, was he truly devoted to Mary?

  • @PhoenixFireHen

    SHE IS AT THE VERY CENTER OF THE BATTLE
    “In the salvific design of the Most Holy Trinity, the mystery of the Incarnation constitutes the superabundant fulfillment of the promise made by God to man after original sin, after that first sin whose effects oppress the whole earthly history of man (cf. Gen. 3:15). And so, there comes into the world a Son, ‘the seed of the woman’ who will crush the evil of sin in its very origins: ‘he will crush the head of the serpent.’ As we see from the words of the Protogospel, the victory of the woman's Son will not take place without a hard struggle, a struggle that is to extend through the whole of human history. The ‘enmity,’ foretold at the beginning, is confirmed in the Apocalypse, the book of the final events of the Church and the world. Mary, Mother of the Incarnate Word, is placed at the very center of that enmity, that struggle which accompanies the history of humanity on earth and the history of salvation itself. In this history Mary remains a sign of sure hope” (Redemptoris Mater (RM),11).
    We can see that from the beginning of the Scriptures (Genesis 3) to the end (Revelation 12), the Blessed Virgin Mary is in enmity and in battle against satan, his demons, his works, his attacks, his distortions, and his lies.
    Saint Irenaeus said, “Mary is directly involved in the victory of Christ” (cf. Against Heresies, 3:22). In a unique and particular manner, the Blessed Virgin Mary is united to and participates in the victory of Christ “who will crush his [satan’s] head.”

    May God richly bless this holy priest! If I may humbly add, that this devotion is the HIGHEST, EASIEST, MOST SURE AND PERFECT WAY TO THE HOLY TRINITY!! There is no better way to go to God than through his holy Mother. It is a great mystery why this devotion isn't more well known. Because of this most perfect way to God, you would think that St. Louis De Monfort would be a doctor of the Church. Yet by God's providence, this devotion remains hidden in a way, perhaps for the innocent and the humble to find (Matt 11:25). Still, we must do our part to spread this holy devotion. It should be shouted from the mountaintops! For those who read this, this devotion will forever change your life! Ave Maria!
    If anyone would like to see more on this devotion, also from another holy priest, please see this link.

Why was Jesus so disrespectful to his Mother Mary, I'll explane, Acts 1 13:14 " ...they went upstairs...Thoes present were Peter, John, James and Andrew...They all joind together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers," now heres my delima, Jesus never told his deciples, nor his brothers, to pray to his mother Mary, the queen of heaven, Jesus prayed to his Father, but I cannot find anywhere, He ever prayed to Mary, nor where he ever told anyone to pray to Mary, ? Why Not, therefore he must be a very disrespectful Son, or is there any other answer ? please help.

      Prayer is not just talking to someone. It is, above all, a living relationship. In this regard, we can see that Jesus always has a prayer to Mary as her Son. And the Apostles have that also.

      @@fatherjasonworthley3 well now I am more confused, first IF she was concieved without sin, then, she lies, and lying is a sin, Luke 1:46-47 " and Mary said: My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior," now the only reason anyone needs a savior, is becauce their a sinner, Romans 3:23 " For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. the only one who never sinned was Jesus, as He was, Immanuel, God with us! now if she is as you say " she is the daughter of the Father, mother of the Son, and spouce of the Holy Spirit," 1 ST. who did the father have sex with to bring forth the daughter? and 2 nd. if she was the spouce of the Holy Spirit, she was a bigamist, Matthew 1:18-19 "...This is how the birth of Jesus the messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law , and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

    • @fatherjasonworthley3
      @fatherjasonworthley3  4 года назад +2

      @@royruser5074 We are all children of God. So Mary is also. Also, yes, she is saved by Jesus. She is both redeemed by Jesus and the Mother of Jesus. But His grace of salvation is applied to her at the moment of her conception. It's the Doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. Remember that Jesus is divine, so his acts of salvation transcend time. So, He made is own Mother perfect before she was even born. Of course God can do that because He is all powerful.

      We as Christians are all being formed in the image of God.
      "You see, we are like blocks of stone out of which the sculptor carves forms of men. The blows of His chisel, which hurt so much, are what makes us perfect."
      -C.S. Lewis
      But, imagine that someone said to you that you needed to make a perfect statue replica of your arm. What would you do, get out the hammer, chisel, and a block or marble? No, you would dip your arm in plaster and make a mold of it. So is Mary! By going to her we are conformed to the image of Christ, for she was made by Christ as like a mold, to help us conform to His image; by His grace.
      "To Christ through Mary".
      St. Louis de Montfort;
      "A sculptor has two ways of making a lifelike statue or figure: He may carve the figure out of some hard, shapeless material, using for this purpose his professional skill and knowledge, his strength and the necessary instruments, or he may cast it in a mold. The first manner is long and difficult and subject to many mishaps; a single blow of the hammer or the chisel, awkwardly given, may spoil the whole work. The second is short, easy and smooth; it requires but little work and slight expense, provided the mold be perfect and made to reproduce the figure exactly; provided, moreover, the material used offer no resistance to the hand of the artist."

    • @slatt33
      @slatt33 6 лет назад +2

      Read the book and you will regret your post! It's that simple. Jesus and Mary are so united, they are basically one. Without Mary, you would not have Jesus, she agreed to God's plan, she did not have to agree. So, a true devotion to Mary is tantamount to a true devotion to Jesus, you simply cannot separate the two, and that is the point. All the grace you receive passes through her hands! Just as Jesus (the most profound grace) passed through her womb to you !

    • @jasondavis6009

      You should be very careful about how you speak of the blessed mother. Non catholics blaspheme Mary thinking when they meet Jesus he is just going to be happy about people blaspheming his mother. First of all it was Mary who asked the apostles not to mention her in the gospels. They had every intention of including her but she opposed it. They knew from Jesus her special role in heaven would be. Secondly, Christ is in his human flesh in heaven now. Where did he get that flesh? Do you think he will be happy for those who curse his mother? I dont think so. Repent repent repent while you can.
