Pakistani, Indians, Turks, Greek... They all seem to have figured what bread and meat goes together and should look like. I so miss the flat bread from the small local stores.
Peshawar and Pukthuns have a major Greek/Macedonian influence due to Alexander the Great's invasions in the region. You'll notice similarities in food (thick flatbread and meats), clothing, embroidery styles etc
@@enileo Makes sense. I remember a lot of Greek and Turkish dishes that I grew up with, that seemed similar. Then I started watching Max and other food bloggers and noticed things in India and Pakistan that seemed similar. But I didn't think about Alexander the Great. And, not to offend anyone, but the close relationship between India and Pakistan and also Bangladesh explains the shared skill with spices and similar dishes. I think its a beautiful thing that food does what politics can't do: bring people closer together. The Asian influences on one side, Africa on the other, South America, Europe, Russia... I felt lucky to be able to try food from so many different Countries in Germany. It's something I missed a little when I came to the States, but its amazing what you can find in the South. And it's all influenced by immigrants. Maybe we need to let food do the talking!
I really like your video. Honestly, I also want to go to Pakistan & India, but international flights from Vietnam to Vietnam are closed. So it is very difficult to implement this idea.
You have to go to a place called Taru Jabba It's just on the outskirts of Peshawar between Peshawar and Pabbi and it's famous throughout the UK for its Chapli kebabs We call them Taru Kebabs and they are juicy and literally melt in your mouth. Here in the UK we have many that try and copy it but until you've eaten a chapli Kebab in Taru Jabba then you've not eaten a Peshawari Kebab
Thats a chapli kabab but a different type, its a bit thinner and less juicer. They both are really good. At the end of the day you cant compare apples to peaches
