A Yes fan for over 50 years. I would never have believed "Sound Chaser" could be covered by anyone. Specially, YES vocals. Specifically in a Live setting. Absolutely remarkable. Loved the vocal pick up from the original at the very end. Tons of class.
Remarkable piece of work. Its a shame the recording was from house acoustics. The guitar is lost early on, but plays Howe almost note for note. Very impressive indeed.
Tom was amazing on the Yes Symphony tour, I wish Yes had kept him on! The whole band here is on fire, I am told my sone serious professional musicians that this is incredible hard to play, same standard as Mahvishnu Orchestra!
I am 53 yrs old, and have been a huge Yes fan most of my life, since I was 10, thanks to my brother who is 10 yrs older than me. My first concert was Yes at Madison Square Garden in 1976. Still don't know how my brother persuaded my father to let him take me, but thank God he did. Anyway, I've seen Yes countless times over the years, and I can say with all honesty, I don't think Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire, Patrick Moraz, and Alan White could have played Sound Chaser and better live!! Absolutely spectacular job by everyone. You should all be proud of that performance. Amazing! 👍👍👍
RELAYER is my favorite album since I bought it 50 years ago, December 5, 1974- the US album release date. I think Sound Chaser here with Spiraling is just as good as YES live versions. Also Jordan Rudess' version is excellent.
I saw Tom Brislin live with Yes in 2001 in Las Vegas and he was brilliant. As a long-time fan and friend of various Yes members, no one will ever be able to replace the Wizard, Rich Wakeman, but Tom brought such renewed energy to Yes that year and I consider him a phenomenal keyboardist that can rival with anyone. Tom - I did not know you were currently with Kansas and I've always loved that band, especially during the years when Steve Morse played with them. Now that I know, I will definitely buy their new CD. Can't wait to hear you play with them!
@@TomBrislin Hey, Tom. I'm going to see you guys on May 8th in Clearwater, Florida. Any chance of connecting after the show? Would love to catch up a little. It's been 20 years since I saw you with Yes. If not, I completely understand. Thanks!

@@TomBrislin that is excellent news! I saw you in Cardiff, UK with Yes on the symphonic tour what a gig that was. To me, to tour or play on any album live or otherwise deserves the recognition (Union excepted lol)
My god this is exceptional! I think Tom Brislin is as high a calibre musician as anyone who's been in Yes. Also props to the drummer here - he totally nails it! This is very difficult music being played with a lot of expression which in itself I consider to be high art.
@@TomBrislin Yeah absolutely, just superb work all around! On a side note, I have to mention here how great I think you were on the Yes Symphonic Live album - your playing is really up there with Wakeman for me. I like the version of Ritual from that album so much, it actually inspired me to make my own version of the drum solo from that song ruclips.net/video/mf535u78h3o/видео.html
My fave Yes song from my fave Yes album. As a fan from the 70's it does my heart a world of good to see and hear musicians, whose parents are my age, be so into this music. You nailed it boys!! Thanks!
You guys freakin NAILED IT! I saw the Relayer tour with Patrick Moraz back in 1975 and your passion and confident performance is such a pleasure. So refreshing. Really glad I stumbled upon your video. I'm sending this to all my musician friends.
Great job. I'm amused the stage looks so empty of of equipment compared to a YES concert yet you can still do the song. To this day I remember going to my first YES concert in 1976 before I even listened to Relayer so I heard Sound Chaser for the first time and heard it live. I love the song, but remember being mystified by the "cha, cha, cha" section. I always thought Sound Chaser would be a great name for a band.
Alan White passed, so I was listening to Sound Chaser on RUclips, and this was suggested . I thought, sure, a cover of this song, right ! But OMG, I'm in awe. It's making me emotional. It's so good. I love that you free-styled the keyboard solo near the end. I love the sample of the cha-cha-cha. I love music, I know this song by heart, it's etched into my soul. And it was done 17 years ago ?? Does this prog-fest thing still go on ?? I am now going to hunt down every other piece of your work that I can find. I'm about to go to bed, and I am so happy right now after watching this. Thank you.
I was very impressed with Toms on the 2001 Yes Tour. Although I liked Geoff Downes in Asia, I think Tom would be a much better choice for the current Yes line up.
An amazing extrapolation of the famous Moraz solo. I like the way you have keyboards angled towards the audience, and the trimmed down rig. Had the feeling that a lot can be done with fewer keyboards. I enjoyed the preview of the upcoming Kansas record and will definitely get it to check out your current work.
Thanks so much, William! I've played my keyboards at an angle for decades now; I find it more comfortable and fun. While it's always nice to have another keyboard to grab, we were a pretty 'mean n' lean' operation with Spiraling. Glad you liked the Kansas preview, and I can't wait for the album to be released!
You sure pick the hard ones. This is an excellent version of Yes’ maybe most complex and fusioney song. Your version of South Side of the Sky with Band Geek is the other one, just great. I saw you with Yes in Oslo in November ‘01, you did a great job.
I got into Yes as a teenager, I had a cr*ppy cassette machine that I used to take into the bathroom for a soak (me, not the cassette machine...) - I can remember clearly the "WTF?!" moment when I first heard this!
This is very faithful version of a song that I would imagine to be very hard to play live, let alone in a four-piece ensemble. Very impressed. I have a lot of thoughts about this Yes song in particular (not the performance in the video, which is excellent), some not very popular. But that's for another time. Great playing!
VERY VERY WELL DONE GUYS! You made all us YES lovers proud. Great job on doing it so EXACTING! And your vocals and harmonies are excellent. Very proud of you! Great job!
Pretty cool way to introduce keys more towards people's eyes, so they can see your technique. Phenomenal cover! I guess that YES a.d. 2022 can't even come near to this. I will always regret they didn't kept your at least for couple years. I know it was obvious that Rick is coming back, but your style would be much more innovative for this band at that point in time.
Dan S.: This is the ONLY cover version I've EVER heard, & I've known this song from the beginning. Kudos to Tom & his friends for having the guts to try this one.

Wow, your Sound Chaser was ridiculously perfect. I love it!! So hard to play, but you nailed it. God bless you.
Thank you! It was an undertaking!
Very surprised the drummer pulled this off flawlessly
The most creative version of Yes was when they had Patrick Moraz. It’s a shame that time was so short.
Big Patrick fan here!
A deceptively simple, beautify, bouncy song with dark layers.
Tom, Walter Sandza here. This is ridiculously incredibly good. Takes grandes cojones to even attpmpt. BRAVO!!!
Great vokes too!!!
