Iconic arena-rockers Night Ranger are set to release their eleventh studio album, HIGH ROAD. Produced by the band itself, HIGH ROAD will be available in two formats -- a standard CD version and a deluxe version which includes two bonus tracks and a DVD featuring a background look at the making of the album along with video clips. The cover art for HIGH ROAD, incorporates elements of the artwork from the band's previous releases
Of the new album, frontman/bassist/songwriter Jack Blades commented, "It's almost summer and a great time to take a trip down the HIGH ROAD! The 80s are here to stay ☺.
This type of music wont go away completely but will never be huge again. That era lasted nearly 4 decades though, lots of great stuff that lives on in recordings. The internet has created a lot of great young musicians who can hit every note/beat of their favorite songs thanks to not only being able to hear the music, but actually see live concerts and pause/rewind as many times as they need to watch finger placement etc...but there are very few kids these days starting bands in garages and basements across the country. They also know theres no money in it like there used to be. Popular YT muscians can make quite a good living never leaving their bedroom studio. Why spend a lifetime on the road having the money you make split among 100 different people?
as a 50 + that song is shit hot , and the band look like they feel every beat of it - excelent job !!!

Saw these guys last weekend for the second time, the last time was in 1984. Brad Gillis was unbelievable at 60 years old. He could almost pull off the yellow leather pants, bear chest and curls but I had to settle for ripping the solos like the old times. Thrilling!

Great summer road song
Just got back from England and seeing these guys live twice in a week and man I tell ya, they are the best live band I ever saw in my life! The new songs sound super heavy live! And the guys are having more fun on stage than any other band u ever saw! I am floored by the sheer talent of these musicians! All hail the mighty machine that is NIGHT RANGER in 2015!!!!!!

Night Ranger wrote all their songs and the new one is good sounds great like it was in the early days I wish that music would come back it sounds great better than the crap today and Jack Blades is a great songwriter and his voice sounds good

Wow. Not what I was expecting. This tune could pass as a contemporary country tune.
I was surprised for the same reason. it sounds exactly like contemporary country rock. not a huge fan of that genre. but I do like this particular song. band is tight.

Just saw these guys last week and they were great. They played this song and it sounded as good as any of the old stuff. Good guitar work, nice hooks. This is as good as almost any of their old stuff. Nice job, guys!
Night Ranger has released several post-80's albums. A couple were thoroughly complete, a couple were 50/50 (which by today's standards is a hit album), and a few, lately have had 2 or 3 tracks that were worthy of the "Night Ranger" stamp. So, if you truly are a Night Ranger fan, you would KNOW this and wouldn't be trashing the first song that doesn't sound like "Don't Tell Me You Love Me". Do yourself a favor and actually purchase the later albums, listen to them....more than once. I'm an 80's guy, I love that sound but, I still appreciate well written, impressively performed songs, regardless of whether they are on the radio or MTV or VH1...yadda. P.S. I'm also a musician in a band that plays absolutely NOTHING but 80's rock.
They also released Feeding off the Mojo in '95 with Gary Moon on bass and vocals,, it's a great record!!

How long can these guys go on looking like if they're only 35 while in reality.... When incomes and royalties are spend wisely, rock'n'roll clearly keeps you young. And the band clearly still has that youthful energy combines with arts & crafts ideas for superb compositions.

In 1976 I was a sophomore in high school, One of the best days in school was when the school[Columbine] Invited a group of senior citizens to share half the day with us. My Father was a WW II Vet and was 41 when I arrived via Mom. My respect for the older generation began with respect for my Father.
How this is relevant, is as follows in 2013 when I was 53 years old someone on radio explained that the Human mind is like a file cabinet-It never stops developing, and never runs out of space. If men and women seem to be slow in reply it's because they have a lifetime of "NTFS file system" to blaze through in a second to address the impatience of youth.
I have my own adult son now. My father has passed[1977] To those who detract from this continuation of man evolving in their music. I don't call you ignorant or too young, I merely suggest your on a path we all travel on.
I always liked this band. I see men who are ageless. This is what I need in life at this moment. I merely needed affirmation. I never was worried of getting older.
Retirement is when we are done on Earth.

only 14 and night ranger is such an inspiration, when to a local concert of ours that they were playing at when i was 8 and it all started there. i can just say sing me away is my favorite but there is no karaoke to do a cover of it, but every songs made such a powerful impact! keep up the great work.

I was playing Night Ranger at maximum volume back in 1985. Their manager can't have been that good because these guys should have been a whole lot bigger than they were. Everybody who partied at my house (elected official neighbourhood party venue) went straight to the record store just as soon as they had sobered up enough to drive.

thanks for bringing some positive music out! I am a middle aged rock bassist who served most of his adult life in the Marines. Well im getting out and continuing to play and I want to bring strong pro American way music back. I have a feeling we are gonna need it more than ever soon.

jrock2264 If only! No, the reason I hadn't heard anything by them before is that I'm pretty old. I'm more or less the same age as they are, and by the time their careers took off, I was off pursuing mine and not paying attention to new music.

godrulztheearth I just watched their "24 Strings and a Drummer" acoustic concert last night. I'm more impressed than ever. They're just as tight live and acoustic as they are electric and in the studio. They did all three of the songs you mentioned. Nope, I had never heard any of those songs before a couple of days ago. It seems I picked the wrong decade to be serious and career-oriented! I'm having fun catching up on all the great 80's music I missed the first time around.
