Lyrics Stop with the small talk Won't you Don't wanna feed the nightmare Sharp memory talks I hear around the room Don't wanna hear no more Hear no more from you Stop with the small talk Won't you I don't wanna hear the nightmare Sharp memory talks I hear around the room Don't wanna hear no more Hear no more from you And you no longer seem to cope With what you ask for But if you haven't gone back How can you start again This south island Is thorn apart But I'm stuck in it For this time When I breath Does it show that the more I learn The less I know Is not enough to crawl back Because you have to realise That if you choose to start again You gonna leave me mid-air And you no longer seem to cope With what you ask for And you no longer seem to cope With what you ask for Stop with the small talk Won't you Don't wanna feed the nightmare Sharp memory talks I hear around the room Don't wanna hear no more Hear no more from you And you no longer seem to cope With what you ask for And you no longer seem to cope With what you ask for This south island Is thorn apart But I'm stuck in it For this time When I breath Does it show that the more I learn The less I know
I really like this song. Nice, easy flow; nice, simple voice; nice Indie vibe. Kind of feels like I've been sucked into a time warp and sent back to the 80s. Just the way it feels to me. Also, that ending C chord was divine. Less importantly, yes: I'm here because of Pitchfork. So, thank you, Ultraísta, and thank you, Pitchfork.
I just became aware of this group. I must say I am taken aback in time so to speak; it gives me eerie flashbacks to the mid - late 1970's when I first heard Kraftwerk. I am frustrated to find out that they were in Los Angeles last year; alas I am always the last to know it seems. But in any event I am aware of them now thanks to Socrates; searching for some of his writings a reference to this popped up; glad my curiosity hasn't waned in older age.I think Socrates would approve!
1/2 Stop the smalltalk, won't you Don't wanna feed the nightmares Sharp memory talks, I hear it round the room Don't wanna hear no more, hear no more from you (x2) But if you haven't gone there, well how can you start over We're so tired ....? I'm stuck in before I start...? The more I learn the less I know It's not enough to crawl back, because you have to realise that if you choose to start again, you're gonna leave me in there And you no longer seem to cope with what you ask for (x2)

I got the album and seriously seriously this should be at the top 10 of the best albums but is underrated : (( I can listen to it like everyday the concept the vocal is on point more people should spread this band IDGAF if it goes "mainstream" as they will call it, this band just needs recognition that's what I mean and a lot of recognition one day is gonna get there at the top is about time and relies on the fans there's hope
I think its "Stop with the small talk" and "how can you start again" rather than over. For the second question mark it's "When I breathe(or read, not sure yet) does it show that the more I learn the less I know." And towards the end it's "if you choose to start again, you're going to leave me in air." not there.
Considering how much of an influence had on Radiohead and it's producer, a member of this band, I think it's quite possibly a sample. Also, it has a slightly similar timbre, despite the obvious pitchshifting/eq filters.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not really a Radiohead devotee and certainly wouldn't want to hear Thom's vocals in every song, but the melody here is so remarkably Yorke-ish that I can't help but wonder how it would sound if the man himself sang it. Laura's (?) voice kind of gives it an easy listening vibe, just nicely washing over you instead of engaging emotionally. I'm entirely in love with her face in the vid though.
It's frustrating, I can't hear it now because it's 2 a.m. and I have class tomorrow, but I so want to hear it...I'd just pick my tablet and draw for the rest of the night.
Lyrics
Stop with the small talk
Won't you
Don't wanna feed the nightmare
Sharp memory talks
I hear around the room
Don't wanna hear no more
Hear no more from you
Stop with the small talk
Won't you
I don't wanna hear the nightmare
Sharp memory talks
I hear around the room
Don't wanna hear no more
Hear no more from you
And you no longer seem to cope
With what you ask for
But if you haven't gone back
How can you start again
This south island
Is thorn apart
But I'm stuck in it
For this time
When I breath
Does it show that the more I learn
The less I know
Is not enough to crawl back
Because you have to realise
That if you choose to start again
You gonna leave me mid-air
And you no longer seem to cope
With what you ask for
And you no longer seem to cope
With what you ask for
Stop with the small talk
Won't you
Don't wanna feed the nightmare
Sharp memory talks
I hear around the room
Don't wanna hear no more
Hear no more from you
And you no longer seem to cope
With what you ask for
And you no longer seem to cope
With what you ask for
This south island
Is thorn apart
But I'm stuck in it
For this time
When I breath
Does it show that the more I learn
The less I know
This song has mesmerized me! What a heavenly voice she got

Simply Beautiful.
how calming is it 🤍
I've spent the past hour googling and listen to these guys track. They're totally incredible. I need MOAR.
Not just the voice, both Nigel Godrich and Kieren Hebden are geniuses, and Joey Waronker just has an amazing style.
from another world!
Sweet track. Like it a lot!
i'm completely obsessed with this.

holy shit yes
I'm seeing them the 1st of October in Amsterdam!
great
Really can't wait for this album to come at me
Damn, this is good stuff. It's like a poppier and more lo-fi Fever Ray, with more of a new wave feel
agree with the vocal instrument, Thom Yorke-esque
puts me in a trance
soooo addictive

Amazing tune! I'm waiting for a great album.
this version is by far better!!!
will there be an album???
Bring On The Night Time got me here.
I never realized how much of a main part of Radiohead Nigel was until I heard this.
Whoa I just realized he produced this! Awesome!
neat!
Laura Bettinson is the singer, Former Dimbelby and former FEMME...some of the best voices...
Love this song/group..singer is such a hottie too. Did you guys see them on letterman..? It was awesome
i was thinking the same thing.
Love the original! This is the shiz!
Sashas remix of this is awesome, so I was expecting this to be not has good, but this is really good as well, I like
love this song and video. does anyone know how they made the visuals for this?
+kris10g737 Looks like they used a projector with some kind of video playing and projected them at her?
They filmed her with a colored strobe light on her face. Very simple.
Really wish this was on Spotify :'(
Found this song because Spotify discover recommended the Four Tet remix of it, it's not a bad version :)
It is now!
where can u buy this track and the remixes?

You are not alone Friend.

when's the album!?!?!??!?!?!???!?
The tuning is about 453 Hz, and I think the song is in C Major. I'm still trying to figure out the chords, though...
anybody know where one can find an acapella of this?
rvltion909 In Nigel's studio lol...
just what i look for..
suave!
cool track. reminds me of Amberite1 's electronic stuff.
Makes sense, considering that one of the producers in Ultralista (Nigel Godrich) also produced many of Radiohead's tracks
reminds me of ghost in the shell.
