Kind of weird the smaller, cheaper Nucleus Nano has an auto-calibration mode that you can set by exactly one press of a button, but the more robust system with handles has an eight step calibration process. Was looking at buying these handles but now I'm seriously questioning it - seems like one lens change would create an even larger time suck.
Just a suggestion: Would there be a way to make the menu font MUCH larger for legibility? Rather than squeezing so much text into the tiny screen, I would rather have much larger text and scroll through a few screens as needed. I just can not read these screens, especially in bright light.
Hey Dave, unfortunately there is no way to increase the font size on these screens. This feature could be added with a future software update, but there is no word on this at the moment.
@@TILTA Thanks for the reply. Maybe instead of larger fonts, some kind of icon/symbol could be employed. Or, just consider a larger display in the future? It is really hard to read. Thanks for listening.
TILTA if my wheel part is not turning the motors anymore can it be fixed? i mean the record button works. the controller is set to slave. but my handgrips wont turn the motors when i turn the handgrips finger wheel. it isnt doing anything. i only see a connection by having the record button activating on and off from grip to motor
@@ndelacru Not sure if this will help, but I have heard that if the controller wheel is close to the motors, sometimes the connection is lost or inconsistent. So, try moving the controller farther away to see if the motors start turning. Good luck.
Unfortunately I noticed a trend with Tilta’s product, that once out in the wild and in production, they stop developing firmware to enhance functionality and move on to the next product that will make them money. This is sad that they focus R&D only on getting new customers instead of keeping their existing customers happy. I love my Nucleus M but there hasn’t been a firmware update addressing obvious bugs since May 2018, and much like their G2X which I also own has been abandoned for the latest, greatest product. This calibration process is convoluted and lacks any concern for being field expedient or an efficient interface design.
Hello. I have a problem. When i put the zoom motor on my 70-200 photo lens. It allways jumps from the track. It forces the lens to move from its place. One time it completly taken out my lens from the mount, lucky i had my hands on it and caught it. What should i do? How do i secure it so it doesnt jump from the track?
I have sent the items for repair for the gear turning is weak and slow. It came back the same way. May someone from Tilta actually explain if using left handle and the WLC T03M can work as a pair - I brought the Partial Kit III, or the FIZ unit is required to make it work? I am certain the units are both faulty but according to your repair department, the problems lies with calibration. My light is always red.
I have three motors on for Focus, Iris, and Zoom. My handle that controls Iris and Zoom motors will "twitch", jumping or spinning the lens about 15 degrees without me touching the wheels and knob. And when I look at the screen, the letters K and J flash along with the word "FREE" next to them. Then, it goes away and K continues to flash on the screen. How do I fix this issue? Better yet, what's causing it?
@@mattiapalombi1597 It may be a battery issue. Are your batteries "button-top" or "flat-top"? I have a ton of 18650 "flat-top" batteries and they would not work consistently for me. Freshly charged batteries would not even power ON the Tilta handle! ("Flat-top" batteries aren't designed to be stacked in series like "button-top" batteries. I think I was simply getting lucky the times they did work, but the inconsistency was killing me.) I have since purchased the Tilta-recommended Garberiel 18650 "button-top" batteries and have not had any issues with them. I used the link right off Tilta's website. Just search "Which batteries do you recommend for the Nucleus-M?" Definitely something to consider. Good luck!
Does anyone by the chance to know...how do i adjust nucleus m handgrip's nucleus nano rotate distance when i link it to nucleus nano servo, i can only make it move about 10mm. thanks!
Yes, this calibration is saved once performed. Something in the software may get jumbled around in the future where you might need to perform this calibration again but these instances are few and far between (if it occurs at all).
After recalibrate right handle as spécified on your tutorial, my L range is ok 000to999 but my M and S are now limited to M 112to999 and S 000to 754 do you know how i can resolve this ?
@@stevengoetz6220 No i sent back my left handle to tilta.... but after tried other one left handle, i have notice same problem.... i will see after tilta send me back my left handle. That looked like the worst longest calibration ever.

Never mind. I fixed it. One of the 18650 batteries was a complete dud. Got rid of it. Hopefully that solves it.
