Eagles were in a similar predicament last year, then they turned the corner & played better during the finals.

They’ve had the hardest possible draw and sit top of the ladder at 5-1 and highest percentage. They’ll definitely make the Grand Final.

I know its only early days yet but this Geelong team is Reminiscent of the Geelong teams of 2007 to 2009

as a Collingwood supporter I know gelong bet us by 7 but thank you gelong for showing west coast their are better teams out there than them because last year was devastating heaps of Collingwood players looked died on the ground in tiers thanks cats

Is it just me or does the cats have more options up forward with the inclusion of Dalhouse and Rohan,they look dangerous every time the ball goes into the forward fifty!
Dahlhouse and Rohan are great recruits. I remember playing against Footscray and South Melbourne Swans and those two would stand out.

CHRISTINE an that’s not how it works, different teams play differently each game. The reason why Geelong didn’t make the finals were because Geelong weren’t good enough for the finals last year. Eagles and pies played amazing in the gf

Watching this game, I'm so upset the Swans sold Rohan. He played really well for us and still had many years ahead of him, I don't know why we didn't play him more.
We wanted him because he suited our game style and plus Geelong is his hometown and the team he went for as a kid. He has always dreamed of playing for the mighty cats and he is on fire and a great player

We played about as ordinarily as I expected. Have not won there since the ‘06 54 point turnaround and currently have a worse team. Love my Eagles but I’ll take the multi instead.

As An Eagles fan for some reason Will Schofield and Brad Sheppard can't play in the same team; the team synergy goes wonky. As good as Brad Sheppard is I prefer Will Schofield (just look at the Grand Final) as the third tall, he is actually so good cause he can play on the medium sized forward and also the best small forwards in the comp. Here's the thing when Will Schofield plays as the second tall I skid my undies. Therefore the eagles have to train either Jarrod Brander or Oscar Allen even both to play as the second tall defender if Gov or Barrass get injured you have to teach these two early how to swing (not every player will swing). We have plenty in the wings who can play that third tall defender role. I would've traded Brad Sheppard and a later pick at the end of last year while he had some value and got a ripping Midfielder. Then you can have Yeo playing half back most of the time instead of always relying on him in Middle. Probably should ask the Eagles for a small salary cause I've given them 90% of their problems in a Paragraph.

How are finals bs, they put the best teams against each other with one shot (or two in the top 4) to prove they are the best team in the competition. There too many variables like scheduling and form to call the minor premiers the best team in the competition each year.
@@gambo984 the only final that should be played is 1st vs 2nd minor premiers are the real premiers because if you can finish the full season on top of the ladder of 18 teams you deserve to be premiers what difference does 3 or 4 extra games make if you want extra games which I think would be valid petition the AFL to extend the season to 36 rounds so then fairly every team plays each other twice! How does that not show who is the best team in the league by finishing top???

The problem I have with the minor premiers being the premiers is that it's not representative who the best team is at the end of the season. For example let's say Geelong hit a rough patch of form and the Eagles end up on top of the ladder come September. If I were a Geelong fan I'd be annoyed that they didn't get a second go at the Eagles to prove they were the best in the competition. Also imagine the outrage if a team one the flag on percentage.
