Off topic, I have no choice but change to solidworks and was wondering if you knew the best books for solidworks? Beginner, advanced and maybe even a tips and tricks? videos are too slow for me.
The only one I have is the Sham Tickoo book. It's more like an encyclopedia of the various commands. It's thick and comprehensive, but I find lacking in philosophy of modeling, approaches to design in SW, and tips & tricks. And maddeningly, there are a couple major topics I find haven't been addressed. But if you can get a used copy of an older version for a few bucks, it's well worth the price.
@@CADPLMGuy Thanks for the help dude I'll look into it. One more thing. An associate got a new job and had to learn solidworks, a former Creo user, and he likes some things and hates others but claims that SW needs way more mouse clicks than Creo. But he's more of a mouse menu guy where as I'm more of a keyboard entry command type user. What say you on the mouse click count debate. This friend also claims there is no such thing as "surf and bound" surface selection functionality?
I find clicks to be about even, although sketching in SW seems to be more. I also prefer Creo's dashboard to the SW property manager. However, I find that the mouse click debate has been irrelevant for years. If someone is on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc., they've got no business complaining about mouse clicks like they're in short supply.
Thank you! Great video
