John I would love to see him throw in slow motion a lot of your videos have great information but I learn best with visual! If you can add more actual pitches/angles it would help! Love yah
Nice video with some good explanations. Thing is, after watching this guy talk about his sinker for 10 minutes, it would be great to actually also showcase him throwing it (maybe comparing the movement with his 4 seam?). Some slomo and realtime shots of him throwing his sinker in between the interview topics would be great
I’ve been watching your videos for a while and trying to do what I’ve been told and have been throwing anywhere from 78-82 as a 14 year. This season will be very fun, I can’t wait
@@agoogleuser346 not at all, you can add pronation if you want towards the end (moves more like a traditional sinker), but i dont. Throw it like a fastball and it dives straight down, works so good with a 4 seamer.
@@syedmahdi846 it does have arm side movement if you follow the guys instructions well, however for the combo you want id suggest a more traditional sinker, as this one has more depth
This cool because when I use to play baseball that's how I grab the ball and suddenly it was a sinker and just felt good to have learn on my own and now I work for the MLB stadiums passion for baseball
The "new sinker". In the old days, we just called it a tailing two-seam fastball. What they now call it a 12-to-6 curveball is what we called a sinker, or a "drop ball".
I actually throw a one seamer but witha different grip. I actually out my index and middle fingers on the seam and try to rip it to get the spin as when I tried this grip, it sometimes slipped out of my hand, the wrist position was hard to get too, and it overall just felt awkward.
Hey coach I tried the one seam sinker u showed in the one video it just wouldn’t sink i throw over top my head and when I try your sinker it only works when I throw it like a submarine guy what should I do love ur vids hope u can answer this

Nice! I was one of those RH guys whose 2 seam fastball ran up & in, but if I widen the grip (think split finger FB) it would dive 12" around the hitter's ankles and be 5-8mph slower ... As a 90% FB guy, this was all I had... No curve, no slider, no change up.....
Mine broke down-in I remember I was pitching to my friend who is a left hand batter and when he made contact they were grounder so I was maybe I subconsciously threw a slider instead of a one seam sinker but all I know was it was going towards the bottom left corner The grip looked like it would be a slider but my pointer and middle finger were sitting on top of the stitch and in would rip it down like a fastball

I tried this today and I could see huge improvement with just the first pitch I threw. Thank you so much!
Great video. I had a chance to work with Craig way back in 17-18 travel ball. Great to see him still getting after it!

Going to try this pitch. One eye closed😉

Very COOL. Going to have my son practice this pitch.

it's not hard to throw?

If you throw over the top you’d be better suited to learn a nice two seam

twelve mins and never threw the ball
How do I throw an Edward Cabrera sinker? That’s the real question
Lol. There are a lot of birds in the outfield!
Is this safe for kids to throw?
Should be. There is no unnatural arm rotation to create the sink. It comes off the fingers just like a fastball.
I basically throw a knuckleball but just call it a sinker because it spins a bit because I throw it on the laces.
Knuckleball is no spin or less that one rotation so if it spins more in is a sinker or change up
My son is a lefty is it worth teaching him the sinker?
Thinking maybe better to teach him the cutter
Try both and see which is better
Ah yeah. 100%. “My sons a lefty” lol don’t rub it in.

I invented this pitch in 2006
