Trick of how to remove and replace the head of an Echo weed wacker. SCREW DID NOT FIT..SWITCHED SCREW FROM ORIGINAL THEN IT WORKED . NOT SHOWN IN VIDEO.
I saw a lot of videos until I came across yours that worked. Thank you for the time you spent to make this video. My replacement had a non on the center of the outside. I believe it’s the newer one. Thread pitch matched 😎👍
It costs a little more to have a pre-spooled line, but when you're in the middle of a trimming job ruclips.net/user/postUgkx429xwEjNPnwzQohFrURRyKF51YfOD_Du , it is so nice to just pop out the old one and pop in a new one. Love Black & Decker tools. Especially the 20-volt battery operated ones. And, as usual, it came on time. Thanks Amazon!
Nailed it. That "keyhole" caught my attention beforehand, but I was thinking it provided access to a fastener. Nope - just holds the apparatus in place so you can loosen the piece you're replacing.
U could switch out the bolt in them, it will work. The gold one from the old head for the silver in the new. They usually come with spares in the package

You’re tightening the new one in the wrong direction. I bought the same head and it went right on. Thanks anyway because when I took the old one off I was tightening it instead of loosening it and your video showed me that.
My problem is I forgot to put the damn washer back on when the head fell off and now I don't know how to get it off because when you try to unscrew it from the shaft it just rotates with it.
I was struggling to get it off going counterclockwise, after watching another video mine came off by going clockwise and reinstalling the new one going counterclockwise😮
Your Video was Tremendously Informative right up to the point on How to Put the new head oin your Unit..Maybe you need to buy an echo Brand next time.. The echo Speed Feed 400 runs 37.00..You can buy them at Home depot.Not Lowes they dont carry heads for Echo they sell for Stihl only.. maybe next video will be better for you. Good luck Guys on your adventures in Weed Whacking..

I have the same issue. Echo GT 225 is a right hand thread and the Echo 400 Speed Feed is left hand. What's wrong with these people?
If you buy an OEM SF 400 Head, it comes with conversion bolts to install it on about any unit made.
WHY would anyone take the perfect head off ie Speed Feed 400, and want to replace it with junk?

Buy the Echo Speed Feed 400 part #99944200907, it will fit almost every trimmer by every manufacturer in the marketplace.
