Need help I can get the front out of the water a little bit and I push down but I never get the front high enough so when I push on the front I go right back on the water
Delayed as fuck response, but I find it's less about size, and more about weight. I have a small skim style board that is really easy to do spin tricks on, but it's not that great for airs, but definitely doable. I can do some ollies on it. But I also have a much larger, yet lighter, surf style board that is harder to spin on, but it's so light and much better for doing airs. It also is less squirly so landing the ollie is easier.
So basically, go to the back of the wave and ride to the middle and go to the top of the wave and jump and have fun. So basically all she’s saying is that there is no technique

Do I want a bigger board or a smaller board?
smaller, easier for tricks. longer, easier for chill riding
