"Don't wanna be 'that' guy." Appreciate your respect for your neighbors. Also a great lesson in there for anyone who sells anything: treat people the way you would want to be treated.
Thanks as always for your great videos. I know the problems that you have with all the things that you have to go through making hay and I commend you. It is always a fight with nature, and the timing.
The weather service doesn't know what it's going to do and it's getting worse every day. Glad you were able to get that job done. May God bless you with a safe and bountiful harvest.
I don't really know much about ranching why is it that you make both round and square bales? The rounds are mainly for cattle and the squares are for other livestock like horses and goats?
This video is a perfect example of farming. You can have proper planning, hard work, well maintained equipment, but you are still at the mercy of mother nature. Didn't give up though!
Carl hay making season is always a hit and miss. To be honest the weatherman has no idea anymore no matter what state you live in. The hay still turned out good and you take some good with the bad weather you are grain farming or hay farming. 2022 has been a struggle for all of us farmers.
I enjoy watching you guys make hay, but I too am looking forward to harvest. Great video, Carl.

So frustrating, glad you got it done! Keep an eye on those wheel bearings if you are towing at highway speeds.
That's right.
Carl great video I always enjoyed haying but it was always frustrating for my Dad.

You got that right.

This explains the old adage "Make hay while the sun shines". It is explained where that came from very clearly!
I wish I could control the sunshine 😂
Sweet thanks brother!!!
Where is the bailing hook
I’m no good at using a hook
Ik how you feel I struggled a bit with time and rain for my hay
Making hay is fun when the weather is good but it’s no fun when it’s like this 😂
Those Old John Deere Bailers are really Good. My Dad's Uncle used to have one. I know Square Bails are hard work.

Hey you are in luck! It just so happens that I made a whole video about this question! Here is the link

Tell me about it, is not easy.

Good content. 👍
Hello from Siesta Key Florida.
Sometimes you have to make hay when the sun doesn't shine. It sucks.
I like your channel keep up
Thanks 👍👍
Weather accuracy is only good for1 half to 1 day max,
Bailing hay is hard dirty work but man do you sleep good at night
Nice video sometimes you need to be that guy but I am glad you could avoid it.
Great to see that older equipment being used still, takes me back to the 60s on the family farm in AUS. Good vid
Thanks Robert! It’s hard to justify newer equipment for the amount of hay ground we have access to.
Hi
The shock at 7:44.
Was it thrown off the wagon or dropped off an elevator?
That was my brother throwing bales off the wagon 😂
Love that ol iron!!
Does direction of cutting ever change??
Always horizontal.
😂😂
We always cut the hay in the same direction.
It's been a tough year for making hay that's for sure. . .
Wonder if a modern rtk system could keep that IH running straight
Thanks for the video Carl ! I'm wondering when the price of cattle feed got so high that it justified harvesting the hay from cornfield waterways?
Might as well get some use out of it
Can I get a Dodge Bros hat?
