We will probably never read this but you should come out to one of the Miata meets at Ace cafe in Orlando it’s the last Monday of every month. Thanks for another awesome video. Keep up the great work brother. 🤘🏻
2:01 wait a minute.... if I remember correctly, bens parts vette was a vert, and that’s a hatch.... Taylor ray pro2 build?!?!? Please dear God let it be!😂
I noticed it too and there's no other reason for another parts corvette since nothing needs another engine or any corvette parts so... pro 2 build is all that really makes sense.
Honestly I'd be pretty disappointed if he didn't run an ls miata in pro 2. Not the current one but a purpose build one. Pro 1 has amazing drivers But pro 2 I find has more interesting cars, and it would be so damn cool to see him door to door in a miata battling for his license
@@J0K3R_the_Nerd A miata fits pretty much none of the rules for pro 2 and a corvette is just a overall better chassis to start with since you're not messing around with engine swaps and custom stuff that is hard to get quickly if something breaks with a corvette you just got to any auto parts store and you can buy pretty much everything.
Hey Taylor, when welding thick cast pieces or stuff under high load, you can grind a "v" into both parts and fill that with weld. That will give the weld more strength and allow you to add more material.
Micah Tabacco it’s funny because he says that he made sure to do that to the knuckles.... if you’re gonna comment shit like that you should probably actually watch the whole video lol
I’ve always loved the video clip outro just my jazz. But I’m also loving that angle I’ve recently gotten into drifting games on my phone and your explanations help a lot in setting up the suspension on my games!
Love this car for some reason, keep up the good work Taylor! Also have you maybe considered putting in a s14 or s13 dash in this thing? I know the widths the same and all you need is to trim the front up on it to fit the windshield. Just a suggestion for that broken fc dash 🤟
Hey Taylor, it's somewhat common to use a Toyota MR2 electric power steering pump in an FC RX7. It's the set up that Hert uses in the Twerkstallion. Here's a link to a thread with some schematics if you want to do this in yours: ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?t=192341
You think you could do a video on cleaning the side of the shop up and organizing everything and park all t car and trailers nice? I think that’d be pretty cool
Just an FYI. The reason for the “angle back” is because of ackerman. The further you move that forward on the knuckle to straight it out the less Ackerman you would have
I know you didn’t ask for advice but from personal experience I recommend you bringing extra bolts for those rear arms. Pbm bolt always brake even w/out dirt dripping. Love the videos.
The weight is in the rear subframe... and the doors. They weigh an absolute tonne, especially if you still have window mechanisms and all that good stuff.
The rx7 at one point had a villians nuckle kit, the lower spacers push the wheel out tie rods you have are from an S13, and they are designed not to use wrack spacers, becuase their longer. Also, when your ready to upgrade to power steering, let me know, I've doen it to my car with a v8, its super sinple
I'd forgotten about the RX-7...good to see it back! But I think you need to spend 5 minutes with a hot air gun and get rid of some of those stickers...
By shortening the steering arms, you are radically changing the geometry of the steering. I expect that you will have bump steer issues - so when a road wheel hits a bump, you get a tweek through the steering wheel. The solution will be to move the steering rack closer to the wheel centre line. How much is a matter of experiment. If the track rod ball joints are at a different height from standard, the steering rack may also need altering in height
Taylor, check out the Prius electric steering column.. 3 wire hook up and cheap at the junkyard, like 150ish dollars. 05-09 Prius, 10- ? Corolla.. there is a guy on RUclips that explains how to wire it, it's easy
If your going to weld the steering arm back to the spindle, you should bevel both sides before welding. Will make for a much stronger, safer weld. Just saying. Love the videos, keep em up the good work.
Fantastic Fabricator.. But your driving skills need showing off more. Knock off a couple of them Pro2 guys will help your channel grow. My favorite channel!!
Taylor, what amps did you use to elf the knuckles and it looks like just a mild steel filler rod? Asking because I am about to do the same. Cheers brother
I'd prolly put a mean bevel on something that thick, even if I'm TIGgin it good to know that machine can really crank out as advertised- and so reliably, too- I bought one a few months back and it's been great so far (it's not the sync 351 we have at work, but hey it was $800) how's the cheapo plasma been treating you?
Daaaaaaan look at me! I guessed 2750. People way overestimate how much interiors weight. It's super not worth it to gut a car. I did my '93 loyale, and the difference was like 100lbs between full interior and just the front interior. So that's removing rear seats, door panels, carpet, headliner, etc. The biggest difference would probably be going from glass to lexan.
@TaylorRay please cover those holes in that steering wheel. I'd hate to see you loose a finger if they get caught in it. Sounds silly but you never know.
because some parts are harder to find or cheaper people buy things from ae86 and the s13 as some parts fit the fc... some mx5 parts do too... and mx3...
you really want to grind a bevel on that knuckle so you can get more weld into that joint. you will most likely snap it off if you bump into anything even remotely harsh.
@@Taylordrifts i know you did but im talking about a much much deeper grove. one almost to the middle of the part. think of pipe welding, there is weld through 100% of the thickness of the pipe. its just a concern. especially with a cast part. hopefully you have enough weld on yours. you definitely have a lot.
You need to do a better job prepping your parts for welds. Especially something that’s controlling the steering. Pretty ridiculous how many drift cars have these scabbed together knuckles that are flat out unsafe.
Got tired of other people uploading the royalty free music I used and copyright claiming my video and taking all my revenue. Plus I like the real sounds better for what I do.

Matt L I thought it looked different as well
Just came to the comments because I saw the vette😂

yes please bezel your edges!
I only came to comment to tell him the same thing... a lot of these drifting youtubers who weld need a lot more knowledge
Did you pay attention to the video? He clearly says when welding the knuckles that he ground some bezels before welding them
Micah Tabacco it’s funny because he says that he made sure to do that to the knuckles.... if you’re gonna comment shit like that you should probably actually watch the whole video lol
Always love watching your stuff this last month has been packed with really cool content 👍🏼👍🏼
All those in favour of putting a rotary back in 🙌🏻
I’ve always loved the video clip outro just my jazz. But I’m also loving that angle I’ve recently gotten into drifting games on my phone and your explanations help a lot in setting up the suspension on my games!
Can we have a video in the future with the cinematic intro again? Absolutely loved those!
I was just about to hit the hay when the notification popped out on me. Guess I just need to give myself 27 more minutes awake. 🤷♂️

Ah, sweet. Ben's Vert C5 turned into a coupe C5.
The miata looked sick in Cletus’s video 👍🤙🤙🤙

I like all of your builds, but this car built by spare parts has really got my interest. I really like this build, Awesome content!
You think you could do a video on cleaning the side of the shop up and organizing everything and park all t car and trailers nice? I think that’d be pretty cool
I’m so excited that your going to finish the car I’m ready to watch you drift it! I’ve been waiting on a update about it!
Just an FYI. The reason for the “angle back” is because of ackerman. The further you move that forward on the knuckle to straight it out the less Ackerman you would have
Miss the truck content. Can't wait to see more!
dont forget to put a through bolt back in you lower ball joint!!! turned out pretty good cant wait to see this thing rip🤘😎
When you leave the unwelded area in the center of the steering arm cross section, you have a crack starter. (It has nothing to do with strength).
Please don’t abandon this build! I’d like to know more about the switchboard start setup
That was a quick 26 minutes....you da man Taylor Ray
To get accurate corner weights you need slide plates under the scales. And make sure you have your sway bars disconnected
That's sick. My 89 GTU 2+2 bone stock weighed in at exactly 2700
I know you didn’t ask for advice but from personal experience I recommend you bringing extra bolts for those rear arms. Pbm bolt always brake even w/out dirt dripping. Love the videos.

MMMM rivnuts, amazingly useful and handy little things aren't they :)
nice! i done the same knuckle mod to my s13 and worked our well. i also had to notch my LCA

Your the best on RUclips 😄
Been waiting on this thing getting some love... Watching from the UK
Hell yea man good video before welding at school
I love the videos Taylor, some of the best content on RUclips. Definitely one of my top favorite channels

49.8% Cross weight! Damn, about +0.5 - 1% more and it will be time to get that car on the road course. lol

at 13:50 i think you should invest in a blast cabinet. i think it would come in handy for you in the future.
The FC is awesome and I think your gonna like the car a lot once it's done.
Sick to see the FC back man
You're the godamn best youtuber out there ma mannn ! Keep up the 🔥🔥 content you're killin it !!
finally the fc cant wait to see you drifting it

No b.s. my guess for the weight was 2750 😄. Cant believe i guessed it that close lol
Really enjoyed this episode. Informative and interesting.
We need a shirt that has something to do with taylor and his love for rivnuts 😂
My man just hammerinnn with the impact
New drinking game. Take a shot every time Taylor says "LS Miata"
Fantastic Fabricator.. But your driving skills need showing off more. Knock off a couple of them Pro2 guys will help your channel grow. My favorite channel!!

Another big progress!
Hopefully Dave Zamp is hooking you up for all the promo. That Motha EFer.
Oh my lanta I love the Miata. Welcome to the video.
Taylor has built the Monster Miata Mazda should have made!
i love this build! if only it had a rotary ;)
looks like a ton of positive caster at full lock
You can get steering wheels with less or no dish, the one you had looked like it was pretty deep dish. I mean too late now but..
Do you prefer the m12 stubby 3/8 or the m18 3/8 have the m18 trying to decide if the m12 will be a worth while investment.
Taylor this is your sign you needed to get a c6 vette, You know you need it
@0:21 disappearing man trick lol
I'd prolly put a mean bevel on something that thick, even if I'm TIGgin it
good to know that machine can really crank out as advertised- and so reliably, too- I bought one a few months back and it's been great so far (it's not the sync 351 we have at work, but hey it was $800)
how's the cheapo plasma been treating you?
You should turn the rx7 into like a better version of your old Z so that way the ls miata stays mint
I definitely would of pod-15 those nuckles they would keep the rust away a lot longer than just painting them
I LOVE RIVNUTZ!
Man rack spacers and alittle spacing you’ll be close to wisefab
My full cage RX-7 with the N/A 13B was ~2400lbs no driver, pretty much stripped like yours
You also have to take in the sunroof weighs a little too
WOW that's uncanny, 2756 the THE listed stock curb weight for an FC.
I used a holden/GM Astra electric pump they are cheap and plentiful here in Australia

You should go with villains angle kit . They sell everything for the rx7. It what hert runs on his car I think
You're baaaaack
Loving the fc.. it is turning out sick. Keep up the great content. I would love to see a budget build drift car too.
because some parts are harder to find or cheaper people buy things from ae86 and the s13 as some parts fit the fc... some mx5 parts do too... and mx3...
You da bomb Tay-Dogg!!!
Should have went with the FDF race shop Mantis kit
You should see if a steering rack from a Jeep Wrangler would fit , they have way more turning angle than most cars .
I love you Taylor.
You already have extended tie rods !!!!! That’s the only way this worked
Do that bmw as a build ❤️
you really want to grind a bevel on that knuckle so you can get more weld into that joint. you will most likely snap it off if you bump into anything even remotely harsh.
I did grind a v into it. I talked about that.

Do you have any black oem NB floor mats for sale?
Did you get a video from Freedom Factory or was that old footage in the preview?
pdgeman he was drifting through the weeds, I don’t think it’s old video
you and your miata xD
It would be awesome for you to build a fully budget but functional miata just in the old days and giveaway
I was thinking 2745 but I have like 4 fcs and one with a Granny's speed shop LS t56 swap
I remember when you did this on the miata
I wonder what you and adam from bodevision could whip up for a budget paint job on this thing
About time 🙌🏿
I feel like you and ben should start a company building and selling drift miatas.
What quick release/steering wheel set up do you recommend?
NRG hub and v2 relese. Vortex wheel
Only 5k subs to go and you will hit 400k.
Missed this car
More videos with the FC RX7

I love fcs
taylor what happened to the music in your vids? used to make the timelapses so goooooood
Got tired of other people uploading the royalty free music I used and copyright claiming my video and taking all my revenue. Plus I like the real sounds better for what I do.
More ben ls videos
Mega!
Would cleetus be interested in this? He seems to enjoying drifting and he said he liked the Miata, this is just a bit bigger
