  • With my little Amharic skills I will try and let you know what some of the things are that we are using. Amharic is the national language of Ethiopia, there are over 80 languages spoken in Ethiopia. I hope that my pronunciation is correct if not i am sure many of you will let me know.
    400 GRAMS LAMB
    1 LARGE POTATO
    1 ONION
    1TSPS GARLIC
    2TSP TURMERIC
    3 CUPS WATER
    SALT
    FRESH CHILLI
    OIL
    EGGS - (pronounced) - EN KOO LA
    ONION - (pronounced) - SHIN/KORT
    GARLIC - (pronounced) - NECH SHIN/KORT
    OIL - (pronounced) - ZEIT
    TOMATO - (pronounced) - TIMATIM
    FRESH CHILLI - (pronounced) - KAR/RIA
    ETHIOPIAN BUTTER - (pronounced) - KIBE
    SALT - (pronounced) - CHOW
    MEAT - SEGA
    POTATO - DINICH

    I must say you have really impressed me. You being English and all that. I'm not Ethiopian but I love Ethiopian food. I have many Ethiopian friends.
    I do cook Ethiopian food, learnt to cook watching RUclips channels. I only just came across yours, and I think you are an excellent cook, I like your easy instructions and your enthusiasm.

    That’s the fastest Ethiopian meal
    I have EVER seen!!! Or cooked!
    To think I’ve spent 2.5 or 4 hours or more stirring and babysitting the dish. And in what has taken you 40 mins tops!
