I find your video extremely interesting… This one especially caught my attention… I’m not training to be a doctor at all in fact I am an encephalitis survivor… I was never aware that my GP was working to a script when I had an appointment with him… However since my recovery he does not attempt to do the basic interview technique… He actually trained originally as a neurologist and therefore he has A good understanding of how my brain is working… I don’t let him get a word in edgeways… I seem to do all the talking when I am there… I’m very fortunate because although I am an NHS patient… My appointments average 30 to 45 minutes each time… Anyway as I say I found your videos extreme extremely interesting… Keep up the good work if I ever move to the Midlands I would like to register as part of your patients
I really hope so,Thanks Dr. I have a question regarding the Palliative care video, What if the patient or the relative directly asked me " is my mother going to die" or " does this mean i am dying?" how should I respond in this case
thankyou for these videos Dr Aman Arora!really helps.. though i was wondering in this particular video as to u mentioned that u tend to avoid the tell me more question .. what would u then rather use instead of tell me more about this pain ! as i think it is really very overly used open ended question! ang suggestions would be really appreciated!
Glad they are helpful! I'd only suggest not saying "tell me more" on its own. "Tell me more about..." is fine eg the pain, your work, your concerns... It is just the bland statement "tell me more" that I would avoid in exam practice! Hope this helps!
