KT88: extended freq. ranges, precise. EL34: focus on midrange, sweet, lyrical. Someone should build a preamp with 2x KT88 and 2x EL34. Bet that sounds awesome!
They weren't volume matched very well and the KT88s were about 5-10 dB louder than the EL34s on my basic smartphone audio analyzer. One needs to volume match the output to properly assess the different sonic signatures
The KT-88 has more bass and power but less expression in the mids and treble. What would you prefer? EL34 with a sub maybe? Or just another EL-34, since SED (Winged C) is famous for her harmonics up high, but also for her not so seismic bass? (We miss you SED...)
El34 have a superb midrange and KT-88 more bass but with lack of midrange. Kt88 is a good tube for rock, electro and large classic orchestra like in this video. EL34 is good for jazz, vocal, folk and smal orchestra..I prefer EL34 for my taste. In this video el34 and kt88 run in an chinese amplifier (Jolida)...

I have a push-pull tube amp that takes both KT88 and EL34 tubes. The KT88 is more dynamic, but the EL34 is more beautiful. I like EL34 more.
Sound is like wine, some people like cabernet other prefer merlot.

Don't you get more power with the Kt88 tubes?. Those sounded better, but it is hard to tell via RUclips.
Were the EL34 a direct "drop in" vs the KT88 w/ the same amp?
The KT88 set sounds bigger and fuller. The EL34's sound a bit too tame.

You orientated ProAcs in a wrong way!
ProAc logo should be on the inner side, not outer!

Error, wrong belief caused by lack, of knowledge of tube technology ..............EL34 ( nos ) is capable of 100 watts in PP...............

The KT88 are a lot better in your video. I don't know why (your handy-cam microphone?) but the EL34 sound bad.
MAYBE it is NOT due to the tubes .......
