Ive just bought a this car. 100,000 miles. But been serviced well by honda. (Full service history i mean). Any one know anything about valve stem issues. Had it as an advisory. But the car seems fine. No leaks and no smoke.
Thanks for the video, and great explanation about the gearbox and gear-change tips. I just test drove one of these (2008, 80k miles) and found that when rolling in first gear, mainly in traffic, the car had felt slightly 'juddery', like on the verge of stalling but never actually did. Is this typical or should it be smooth even at 5mph in traffic? Maybe signs of gearbox issues to come?
Hi, I bought a Honda with an I-shift. What is the best way to park the car? To be put in N and with the hand break pulled? Not in A mode? What about in a steep hill? Thanks.
The gear boxes are actually the same as the manuals by and large so don’t have many problems The issues tend to be at higher mileages with the actuation of the clutch which is automated It can need adjustment with age and mileage The actuator has been known to need replacement on very rare occasions but are very expensive. Best to source a good second hand one as Honda charge far too much for new ones
@COLIN It is okay you didn't wake me up !! Re the actuators the only ones we have seen have been on high mileage cars over or about the 100k mark. Cannot remember one at a lower mileage. Did get one recalibrated to help with the clutch bite from memory
I am looking at one of these at the moment. I am part exchanging it with a 2011 Renault espace with only 55200 miles on the clock. The Honda civic I am looking at is a 2007 and has done 54000 miles. Do you think this is a good exchange or a bad one considering my Renault is 4 years younger. Thank you

It may need recalibration by the dealer

How reliable are these i-shifts compared to the manual honda's? I have heard mixed reviews about them
