You are spoiling us Morten, two videos in two days. The close up Kittiwake picture was beautiful and crisp so I look forward to seeing how it does with some macro work of the lovely wild flowers in your garden 🙂
I love your videos and live stream. I notice in all of the videos you can see in your eyes and face the love you have for what you do. Thanks for sharing with the world.
Such a well produced and shot video as always from Morten. I got a chuckle when Morten said “holy moly”. My Norwegian brother-in-law says that quite often as well when he gets excited and sounds just like Morten.
You are really spoiling us with all these videos ;) Always nice to see the kittiwakes in action :D I was more intrigued by your tripod than the lens 😅 It seemed so easy to unfold and fold it.
I always loves your bird photography the way you capture the symmetry with subject is just awesome and i love that moment! Best wishes and lots of love
I placed a deposit with my local camera shop as soon as the first previews came out a few days ago. This looks perfect for my needs, thanks for sharing your fun bird photo experience with this lens Morten.
It is so nice to see, that Nikon is a brand for professionals. They now what we as nature and wildlife photographer need AND they are willing to give it to us. Awesome! 👍 Seriously, with the lenses Nikon has brought and will bring, wildlifephotography will get hole new possibilities! It is not all perfect yet. In my opinion they need more good bodies and actually delivering the orders quick. But compared to what was available in the past, this is awesome to see!
It is so nice to see, that Nikon is a brand for professionals.....And that Nikon has never been a brand for professionals??.....Looks like you have not seen professionals at all.
Looks like a really great, lightweight, easy to handle & carry 400! I expect it'll be as sharp as the other S line native Z lenses. Definitely on my wish list!
Interesting. Switched to Z-System as second camera lately because of situations when equipment needs to spare weight or in a zodiac in swell when managing heavy ones gets tough. Looking forward to nature photographers festival in Lünen in autumn to touch new lenses.I think, this one will definitely show up on my order list.
Such lovely place! where is that exactly? Also. surprised how compact that 400mm is! Not s Nikon shooter, but I heard wonderful things about the Z9!! :)
Great quality review and video Morten. I don’t use Nikon but it’s always a pleasure to watch your videos regardless what the topic is. I am fascinated by the tripod that you are using in this video. For me as a wildlife photographer / filmmaker this super quick functionality of setting the tripod up / packing it down seems like an essential piece of tech I am missing in my gear. Any chance you would kindly share the model of this tripod? Thank you.
Hey Morten, you are going to make it tough for Nikon to keep up with orders for the 400mm S! I have to ask about your TRIPOD... One click leg extension. Awesome! Greg
I noticed the tripod!!! I’ve watched all of Morten’s videos (numerous times) and never noticed the ease of that tripod!! Never mind the lens, I have tripod envy 😆
Wow that’s some lens, what a fantastic combination with the Z9. Morten can you share some details on the tripod you were using here, it looks very trick with folding and opening legs with one button! Stay safe my friend and thank you for sharing this with us. 😀👏👍
Thanks for the "Not a review" Review Morten. Looks like a great lens for birds in flight, and also exploring trails and forests when you never know what is going to show up suddenly. Looks very light and easy to handle.
I decided to pass on the 100-400 when I saw this was coming. Very excited for this one. I guess I will live with the ftz and a 70-200 for white a whole. This thing will be great on the Z9! Thanks, Morten.
Hehe… f7.1 is also the sweet spot I’ve found for photographing action… birds in flight… it’s a good compromised for focus and subject separation, and it doesn’t place too much stress on having absolutely the very best lenses to accomplish this. It works fine with the Nikon 300 mm PF, and also on Fuji, using the XF 100-400 mm (on Fuji, choosing the right custom AF setting becomes paramount to your success)
I inherited a bunch of Nikon gear from my late father in law. There is a 300mm f/4 in there that I can’t wait to use. I just have to adapt it to my Sony or get a Nikon body. Love your videos
Hello Morten. I always enjoy watching your videos. To me It’s a combination of educational, inspirational and therapeutical videos. Please keep up your amazing work. I have a small question. What tripod and ballhead you’re using? Thank you.
The one shown at the beginning of the video is the Sachtler brand with one of their fluid heads. I would like to know how to get a set of legs in that camouflage colour.
Looks like a really nice lens! I'll consider it when I'll do the switch too mirrorless. Thanks for the video kind of made my day! Of course I also appreciated the video from yesterday ;)
Hi Morten, another great first impressions video. We have seen you in Scotland with the new Nikkor Z 400 2.8 but sorry if I am wrong not with the Nikkor Z 800 6.3 at this time. Will you consider sharing your impressions compared to the F mount 5.6 ? Thank you.
Obrigado. Ajudou muito para mim. Tenho uma Sigma 600mm e Nikon D7100. Tenho que praticar bastante para acostumar com uma lente grande. Sou do Brasil e gosto muito de teus vídeos. É diferente a vida selvagem fora do Brasil.
Hello Morton hope you are doing great. Absolutely love your work. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring. How do you record video footage from the viewfinder. I have noticed that you don't have a recorder (like the atmos ninja) attached to the camera. So was curious that 1. is there a way to record the viewfinder without an external recorder, or 2. you just records the video separately Would greatly appreciate the help.
I tend to stick to the longest lens I can get .. a sigma 150-600 zoom hand held it is brill. Since Nikon recalibrated it for me after a small accident it seems even sharper
How much did it cost you for them to re calibrate it .. ?? Were you having AF issues with it prior to your accident when the lense ? I have the same lense. I mainly use it for High altitude Aircraft captures as Ships, Yachts , Boats and Moon captures . When the Sun is shining .. it's pretty much faultless capture wise of what i use it for , tho when the AF fails at critical times it's annoying
@@colintraveller I dropped it and it needed a new connection some of the studs were damaged, so they put on a new one and serviced and recalibrated it. For about £300. But normally putting in the little dock calibrates it and upgrades it.
Lens looks like another winner but please tell more about the amazingly fast tripod fold down at 8:00.
You are spoiling us Morten, two videos in two days. The close up Kittiwake picture was beautiful and crisp so I look forward to seeing how it does with some macro work of the lovely wild flowers in your garden 🙂
This lens doesn't focus very close, so not great for macro work.
Nikon is doing such an excellent job ♥️🙌🏼..
The music in the opening segment takes me back to your 50 day expedition and it gives me a warm emotional feeling.
I love the calm energy of your videos. Thank you for what you do!
Fantastic lens. Congratulations Nikon.
By far the nicest of the handful or so 400mm preview videos so far.
Fotografia to wolność...🥰🥰🥰Pozdrowienia z Polski.
Photography is freedom ...🥰🥰🥰 Greetings from Poland.
Hello Morten, was blown away with your tripod . May I ask which brand is it ?
Nikon delivers.
So does Morten :-)
I love your videos and live stream. I notice in all of the videos you can see in your eyes and face the love you have for what you do. Thanks for sharing with the world.
What brand and model is your tripod? Your videos and storytelling are marvellous.
Such a well produced and shot video as always from Morten. I got a chuckle when Morten said “holy moly”. My Norwegian brother-in-law says that quite often as well when he gets excited and sounds just like Morten.
It blows my mind how compact the mirrorless stuff is. A 400mm prime + a flagship body and it's easily handholdable.
not because it's mirrorless my friend.
It is an F4.5 lens and not a 400 F2.8
Oh! the ZO is almost as big as a D6.
Excellent tripod there Morten! Though I highly recommend the Sachtler Aktiv8 over the Ace, if you don't mind the weight. ;-)
You are really spoiling us with all these videos ;) Always nice to see the kittiwakes in action :D I was more intrigued by your tripod than the lens 😅 It seemed so easy to unfold and fold it.

Mine is on order and hope to see it soon!
Hi Morten great video as usual. 2 of the things on my shopping list in my move oi Mirrorless
Great video Morten! Do you mind let me know what tripod you use in the video, seems to be very quick to setup.
Thanks!
Morten, what tripod are you using ? The folding looks really quick and slick !
Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your experience with the "coming soon" Nikon 400 f4.5
I placed a deposit with my local camera shop as soon as the first previews came out a few days ago. This looks perfect for my needs, thanks for sharing your fun bird photo experience with this lens Morten.
Many thanks for the excellent video. And I am also interested in the brand of tripod that you are using. Can you please share. Many thanks in advance
It's lucky time got 2 videos in 2 days from morten, love your content man
Thank you. All the very best. 👍📷😎
thanks a lot for the new video! Good to see you again!
Another vid! Awesome
Thank you for this interesting video 😃. The lens looks great 👍. But, by the way, the tripod even! Is it a Berlebach tripod?
Great video Morten, greetings from Italy
Lovely birds and shots. Thanks for sharing

Nice I see you got a new Sachter Flowtech tripod already taped up too, must be super fast and easy to handle, very nice.
Keep up the good work
Awesome video! I'm dreaming of upgrading my Z6 and glass someday...

Hi Morten, thank you for sharing this amazing Nikon and story. Greetings from The Netherlands
Thanks for another great video Morten, you certainly give us plenty to think about 👍
Thanks for this input! I know you are also using the Nikon z 100-400mm, how would you compare the AF speed of the two at 400mm?
Such lovely place! where is that exactly? Also. surprised how compact that 400mm is! Not s Nikon shooter, but I heard wonderful things about the Z9!! :)
Great Video, Morten ! I think video head and tripod are from Sachtler ... heavy stuff .... Kind regards, and waiting for 2023 calendar :-)

Looks like sachtler 100 tripod legs. Not sure about which fluid head tho ( still sachtler, maybe video 18 or cine 7+7 ). Hope this helps.
Going to be a great lens
Im really looking forward to getting one of these 400mm, superb video and photos as always Morten!
Sweet lens and images!
Thanks for the amazing video! Can you please share the details of the tripod you use?
Can you tell us which tripod that is? I like how you can extend the legs from the top.
Great video Morten! first time becoming aware of you and now subscribing! Beautiful work sir!

Another awesome great video from you. Thumbs up.
Im excited for this lens. Im really hoping with a tc it will replace my 500pf.
but I need that tripod! 🤣 what is it?!
💙❤️
My inspiration 🤩
Woow....so beautiful view video 👍

Sweet glass Nikon is spitting out recently! If only I wasn't heavily invested in sony ;)
WoW!! just WOW!!
Great video
Come to PATEIRA DE FERMENTELOS in Portugal, is the biggest lagoon of Europe.
Two videos! I’m feeling spoiled!

Maybe it is time to switch from Canon to Nikon.
awesome video! how were you able to record your camera view? like the view finder
such a gentle soul. I enjoy your videos very much. they are so calming.
Just bought a Z5 and I'm so happy. Can't imagine how a Z9 must feel xD
That was a neat trick with the tripod, did you switch from Gitzo?
Thank you for the video. By the way, what tripod and head were you using. Seems to collapse and setup in a unique way.

Hi Mohammed. Im using the Ninja. Just not filming myself when I’m using it😉
These small lenses always look like a toy in your hands 😂 What tripod is that? Very clever engineering.
Hello Morten, why not using 400 f2.8 tc lens instead on tripod anyway?
Maybe you can compare this lens with 70-200 with tc 2,0? Interesting
It is very very very light....😂😂😂Anyway, thank you for sharing, very awesome vlog you did❤❤❤
Un gran trabajo!! Estaría muy agradecido si me informa de que trípode es el que utiliza en este vídeo, marca y modelo. Espero una respuesta. GRACIAS

here we go
Can you tell me what tripod you have there and where is the leg covers from please Morton. Thanks.
Nice real world preview. Was the Z9 running FW2.0 or FW2.1? The AF performance seems faster and more “sticky” on FW2.1
Thanks😊 FW2.1
Hi Morten, what camera backpack was that in the video? Thanks, Steve
Awesome!!
Wow ... looks like a great lens. Have you tested it with the x2.0 teleconverter or is that not a good idea?
