It feels like an impossible task right now to find a new racket. I need a tennis shop to come out with me to the court with like 40 different rackets (racket versions). How else could I ever decide which one to buy?? 😅😅😅 different lengths, different heads, different string patterns, different weights - all within a single line up. It’s frustrating folks
There's definitely a lot going on in the industry right now! Demoing is ideal but I always say don't get too worried about what racket "could be" right. Chances are, you try 3 or 4 and one of them will work.
Think what you need form racket. It spin, power, control and choos from this than think do you need softer or it can be stif frame, your level of advance in game, head size 100 or 98 for exemp, do you have arm problem or not, weight for regular game it will be around 300g if you take all this into consider you will get like 4 or 5 models from 4 brands. the most important think is to know what you need
In the old days, tennis shops used to have indoor half-courts to test out the racquets and there'd be dozens and dozens of demo racquets to try out. Wish they still had that. Now you have to rent one or two for several days, and then you have to re-rent the last ones you like to compare to the newer ones you like.....
Hi, I used blade v6 16*19. But I realized that it's a little demanding. I'm looking for a 100 racquet with clear feedback, good forgiveness and some spin! I'm choosing between PD and Pro Staff X. Which one would you recommend? Or do you have a better suggestion? Like your video!! Come on!!
I just can't decide between this racket (as well as the weight within the Pro Staff lineup -- I'm a 5'5 woman and weight like 100 lbs so I don't know if I should go for the 270 or 290 gram version. I did demo the 290 and that felt fine and wonderfully stable even with quick volleys and one-handed backhands, but I'm worried my arm will get sore after too much time spent playing with it), the Shift and the Blade.
How does it feel on volleys you hit off-center? On the v13 if someone slices the ball at you and you take it out of the air as a volley, if it lands even remotely on the edge of the sweet spot it feels like the racket gets twisted out of your hand. Same or nah?
I prefer racquets with even spacings with the string bed. The launch is too inconsistent when you hit outside the centre of the racquet. It may be counter intuitive but powerful racquets should have more open string pattern to allow easy access to top spin to bring the ball down into the court.
I can understand that, and I definitely agree with what you're saying about power rackets having more open string beds. That was part of the issue I had controlling this frame.
Hey Bobby! There's definitely some quality control issues going on with swing weight but it's true for pretty much every brand. To be honest, swing weight is really difficult to nail for these companies because a tiny little weight discrepancy can have a drastic effect on swing weight. I always try to grab a demo that's lower in swing weight and match it to the "supposed" spec if need be, but I didn't know what the target SW was on the X.
I agree SW is hard to nail but when its 12 pts off (322 vs 334)the advertised spec then its a problem. A SW of 334 on a PS-X is already more on the advertised SW(332)of the PS-97. We all know that these racquets targets different levels of players, but when something like this happens its kinda defeat the purpose. Lastly these racquets are not cheap now a days..lol
It's definitely a problem, especially considering how important swing weight is for playability, and I think it's part of the reason companies are hesitant to advertise it.
@@bobbyexevea9751 Isn't the advertised swing weight unstrung? Was the 334 as-tested here a strung weight? Just curious. Strings vary quite a bit in weight depending on type and gauge.
Amazing review ! Thank you for sharing all of your experience ; we can see you know a lot about tennis and rackets !!!
Thank you, Antoine! Glad you enjoyed it
Looks like a beast of a racket, great video!
It sure is! Thank you

Simple solution don’t overthink it Wilson blade 98 great option 👍
Great review! Super helpful. Thank you!
Thank you, Jennifer!

Go for the Pure Drive. I find the Pro Staff X a little demanding as well. You could also try the Gravity MP for something in between.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver got it! thank you. BTW do you have plan on reviewing the blade 100 v9?
Good review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Good stuff
Oh you just said you tried out rackets for spin. Any recommendations?
You really can't go wrong with anything from the VCORE, Extreme and Aero line at the moment. It's just about finding which one best suits your game!
The specs remember very much Gravity Pro. Are them rivals? Would like to see a comparation. And maybe with ezone tour too
They are similar but the different string patterns change quite a bit. The X is quite a bit more launchy (powerful and wild) than the Gravity Pro.
What an accurate review!

Go for the 290. It's one of the best playing 290 gram rackets I've ever tested and if you felt fine with it then that's great.
Channel subject is amazing, can you review new yonex lines? Thanks do comparaison with other racquets
Thank you! We're looking to do the new VCORE in the coming weeks. Definitely want to get some comparisons going down the line as well.
New to the channel. Great review. Would love to see a comparison between the new PS 97 and solinco whiteout 305 XTD and standar whiteout 305!
Hey James, unfortunately we don't carry Solinco rackets but we'll have a Pro Staff 97 review coming soon!
Great review!
Which out of Prostaff X or Shift 315 is more Forgiving on off centre shots?
The Pro Staff, ever so slightly because it's a 16x19.

I find the X to be even more stable than the 97, not as much fluttering on off-center shots.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver damn.. I’ll have to check that out 👀
3:45 the reason I use Pro staff
great review
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
at 11.7 its too heavy for me. Ive gone with the Clash Pro V2
Do you Review the normal Version 14?
Yes, that review is coming soon!

I can understand that, and I definitely agree with what you're saying about power rackets having more open string beds. That was part of the issue I had controlling this frame.
How would you say this is for someone with arm issues?
It's quite a comfortable racket, the only issue is it's quite heavy and slow through the air so requires a well-developed stroke.
What strings and tension did you use?
I used ALU Power and then RPM Rough 17 at 53 pounds.
Thanks. Which one was your favorite of the two?
The swing-weight spec on the PS-X at Tennis Warehouse is 322 while the one you tested is 334. It seems like something is off with Wilson’s QC?

How does this compare to the speed mp?
The Speed is a much quicker and more maneuverable frame. This has a touch more control and much more stability.
Your fh looks a but like Rune’s fh ;)
I will definitely take that, thank you!
But $300???
specs look like blade v8
Man, you need to change your tennis wardrobe. )))
what string tension do you recommend stringing at?
I would put a spin friendly polyester (RPM Blast/Rough) at more than 50 pounds.
