I love Status Quo!
I saw Quo in 2016 for the first time, in Cap Roig (Barcelona, Spain) just a couple of weeks after Rick had his heart attack in Turkey. Rick was/still is my hero and idol so I was incredibly sad (I was 11 more or less), but then I was so surprised by Richie at the gig. Just as he said in the interview, as a kid you can't even imagine that you are going to make any contact whatsoever with your heroes. I had the same experience he had with Rhino with him. He gave me a plectrum that night, and I shortly after got the guitar to go with it!!
I've been playing for 6 years now and I've been to see them 3 more times (and hopefully I'm planning to see them again at some point!
Whenever I'm asked who got me into guitar I always say it was a joint achievement by Rick (who got me to like rock and (most importantly) dreaming) and Richie (who made me realise that I could too achieve my dreams). I know this might've sounded corny but I really couldn't care less, it's the way it happened to me! XD
I've seen Richie 4 times in Quo and watched him develop into a confident singer and performer. He has pretty much made Mystery Song and Little Lady his own. Losing Rick was the saddest thing but gaining Richie and Leon has given the band a new lease of life.
I met Rick a couple of times through work, absolute gent also met Richie’s grandmother a wonderful lady so proud of her grandson 🎸

First I feel so sorry Rick no more with the band. But next you just listen and watch and feel and after all I must say that I just like this mark so much! It has that kind of energy you just love. It works great. Richie is just the real deal. Would love to hear him live) Peace and love!
Love this interview. 😊 Fan to friend. I’ve ended up getting to know a guy called Roger Vivian because he toured with Quo in 2006/7 (did you see them that year Richie?). Went from being a fan to a friend. If you’re interested he’s got a new band called Piro Tones.

I'm a Quo fan however Richie Malone Supports Chelsea thats the only thing thats not good Arsenal are the best and Richie should know that after Arsenal winning FA Cup Finals against Chelsea a few times . Up The Gunners sorry Richie .
