    If the window was much wider, would you have to worry about installing a lintel first? Do the bricks above ever need to be supported when there is an opening?

    Nice work. You said on the inside you can screw to the studs, but home like this often have no studs, just 3/4 furring strips nailed to the cinder block for mounting plaster. Not really enough wood to screw into... What is your method in that case? Thanks!

    No DPC lining behind and under the sill?
    I've seen a lot worse, but missing out DPC in the UK climate could lead to significant damp & cold issues in that area, especially if it's a north facing wall.

    Hey man, great work. One question. Would it not make more sense to caulk the exterior and then do the foam to avoid it coming through to the exterior?

    Did you ever use the trick on the great stuff to set it quick spray water on it with spray bottle it sets quickly so you can caulk at finish

    very helpful vid and love the ethic and smiles!! I always say, we gotta work so might as well smile and have fun while we are doing it. it gets hot and dirty sometimes but coukd be much worse! it's 95 degrees here in Georgia today and I'm about to head to a customer to tear put and install new drywall in bathroom ceiling. glhot dusty attic above. haha. but she also wants to cut in a window in that bathroom with brick exterior. It's just stud with brick facade, very helpful video!

    Good job, however I will put internal lintel the other way, so can’t be visible from the inside. The same way as you put the outside one, unless something is covering it anyway.

    What grout/mortar you recommend just for cosmetic purposes? I recently cut a window for an attic exhaust and the outside needs a little straightening/adjusting. Nothing structural, just cosmetic.

    Hello brother . I feel like I'm the last person to see your channel. Very nice content. I have a question. I just got a property with a 3250sqft brick house. The house is too close to the property entrance. I want to remove each brick and repurpose it. I will build a new house further into the property. Is this wise or would it be better to demolish the whole house and buy new bricks to build the new house ? I know it may Sound foolish but your input would be appreciated .Thanks and stay blessed .

    How is what they installed going to drain water properly to the exterior without having a sloped surface? The perimeter joint around the window should have had foam backer rod and sealant.

    Get yourself some ladder jacks. Great for going over fences and way easier to set up than all that scaffolding.

    Im switching out a current window to a shorter but wider window, i made sure the steel lintel ran across the top, Its a double brick, but im not keen on a window sill, so im wondering if its still all possible to do without adding a window sill?

    When i did mine i made the rectangle where it was going inside and drilled from inside out on all 4 corners after it was square etc tobthe building.

    Brilliant just what I needed to see. Why didn't they want the same colour mortar though? And the window I wanted to see more images of when it was finished please. I don't understand the recess on the outside instead of it being flush to the bricks. Some images from inside also would have been brilliant also. More images of the finished window would be brilliant!!! Great to watch you work though, obviously a true professional! Nice one! Vx

      The mortar was wet in the video. Likely will dry to be the same color as the rest
