Wrestlers are best in the world at escaping with Underhooks. It's a natural continuation of their Seatbelt-Whizzer position which is super common in wrestling.
more pls!!! would love to see how his wrestling transfer to positions like sidecontroll, scarf hold/kesa katame, mount, north south. how to hold/pin and how to escape
Ive been working on and struggling with this position for many years. Very excited to try out this option. Grabbing the near trap hasnt worked for me and still torques my shoulder. This looks very promising.
If the shoulder is placed right underneath the opponent armpit when undertook is retained you get very strong undertook regardless the hand positions. moving shoulder away from opponent armpit will cause over hook (wizard) to be dominant arm. Osss
Awesome!! Honestly I'm sick of shrimping around trying to recover half guard to escape side control lol this looks much more effective
Exactly.
if you fail to enter the dogfight position you can bail back to the half guard from there
I dislike shrimping about as much as I dislike guard pulling
This guy is a wealth of info.
Thanks for the changing place grip details!

Best video yet with this awesome wrestler 🤼♂️
This was really helpful for me.’great video. Id like to see more from Nick
This is great! Especially if we are talking about MMA when you try to get top control
This Dogfight position is also the perfect setup for the Powderkeg submission that Joe Lauzon hit against Jamie Varner.
awesome !!! here is the Powder Keg (Triangle/Sankaku) ruclips.net/video/hKoi0UBx7IY/видео.html
Gold. Great explanation. Many thanks

Its called a whizzer,not a wizard
It's great technique coach thanks😉😉
Cool I’m gonna give it a go, that stiff arm base might be hard to throw the opponent ground if they base enough though
This looks like it would work well for me. Trying it tomorrow.
What kind of wrestling background? Is he using CACC or fusing collegiate with BJJ?
Can the high underhook work from half guard dogfight @StephanKesting
*What if they don't give up the neck or underhook?*
If that happens they won't establish the control anyway,a pass cannot be solid unless they get that underhook
How about something on that turtle attack?
Is the whizzer really stronger than the deep underhook?
Nohb'dy 11 with the right pressure it can be
if its a wrestler, yes. ive seen people be KO'd and get their necks injured in class holding the underhook against a physical oppponent.
Yeahh noce stephan.
Awesome move! Can you then also go back to your feet?
I'm unclear on wrestling terminology, is this some sort of half-nelson?
Great video but when u on the side and not up u r susceptible to an arm in Guillotine 🤪😫
Black guy named "Nick," gotta be careful these days.......
stupid move
Explain?
