I used to edit Call of Duty videos on Sony Vegas or After Effects 7/8 years ago, now I'm starting a new project and it's INCREDIBLE to see the progress of this world. Editing now it's so chilling.
Absolutely true about transitions, when you begin you just slap it on every time possible. Once you get more accustomed to editing you use them only when they enhance the video. The simpler the better and less is more
So glad I found this video. It took Joris 8 minutes to thoroughly explain these features. Other tutorials take up to an hour, and you don't learn nearly as much. Thanks!
Of all the video editors that I've tried, CapCut has the most intuitive approach to keyframes (plus the time-saving auto-captions feature) and I now enjoy editing even more because of it. 😂
@@JorisHermans hey, lets say i have a video and i want to put an image on top of it (so a second layer) is there a way to only affect that second layer with effects ? cause rn if i put a blure effect or filter or what ever over everything, both get affected but i only whant the image to be affected, how?

Wow, finally a clear and honest tutorial. I have only been using the software for 1 day, after many years of Filmora, and I am quite satisfied. However, I miss, for example, straightening the horizon, leveling an obliquely filmed video image, removing the background of a person and automatically lowering the sound of music when I comment on the screen. Thanks for the useful tips.

They've been slowly but regularily moving most of those free features to their paid version, so you gotta act fast if you want to edit some vids now for free lol
@@janetownley considering how expensive is Adobe Suite, i'm considering pay CapCut Pro just because it runs on my notebook. I used to edit on DaVinci Resolve, and was getting really good on it, but they updated and the new version is simply too bulky too my note old GPU handle
Thanks Joris this by far the most straight forward tutorial I've come across. Definitely, useful for a noob content creator like myself. Hope you create more tips like this.. Salute!
I am a Kinemaster user and I just discovered Capcut and I love it. The only thing I hate about Capcut is the video compression when importing 4k videos. So annoying took a lot of time compressing video. I haven't even allowed it to reach 100% bcoz of it took soo long.
Hey Joris, your tutorial is very easy to follow. I appreciate the information that you share after each tip. That answers questions like why I should use the feature, or why I should not. Cool video tutorial. Thank you.
Awesome video bro! But, everyone keeps saying it is FREE but it is not, it used to be free but now you can only use some of the features for free. For example, I used captions last week, when I was exporting it, it told me that it was a PRO feature and didn't export it. I ended up buying it for 75 dollars for a year. But to be honest, I think it's worth it! One thing that I hope they will add is that it cuts the video by each beat automatically so that I can apply different transitions and effects. Currently, you have to manually split the video. No big deal for short videos but time consuming for long ones. And also I wished it would have an option to add the same transition on all split-videos automatically. Anyway, keep up the good work!
First of all, thanks for the comment! 🙏🏻🔥 but I don't understand... I just updated to the latest FREE version, used auto captions on a 10-minute video and exported in 4K without any problems. Are you using the mobile version or desktop? 🤔
@@lalamurray1777 I didn't compare them side by side but I know some mobile features are not on the Desktop version, even if you paid for the pro. But I think they are trying to match them. There were some features that were not available on the Desktop but now they are.
@@lalamurray1777 it really depends if you feel the need for those pro futures.
