Loved this! It would be interesting to hear your style advice on investing in quality items. I’m a couple of years older than you (36) and not wealthy, but def getting to the point where I want to invest in higher quality items that are a bit more timeless and long lasting. But as someone who didn’t grow up wealthy I kind feel like…idk what those brands, items, etc are. Like literally across the lifestyle realm-cookware, luggage, furniture, holiday decor, etc. Kind of like an “Invest in This” idea for people not necessarily on a budget, but you still need to be selective with what items to invest in. Hope that makes sense!
I think it’s great to find local boutiques, get to know the owner and they will usually stand by their products lasting the test of time🙏🏻

Loved this! Vintage and second hand feels that bit special as they almost have their own story behind them! It’s that same feeling of when you find a gem in a charity shop 😀 those black and white dresses are cut brilliantly and the fabric looks great quality. Can’t wait for more second hand content 🙌🏻

The white dress is amazing! I love reformations styles but don’t own anything from them. I’m learning to sew and plan on trying to make one of their designs for myself ☺️
sounds like a great idea! I find reformation clothes of mediocre quality and I'm not the biggest fan of their fabrics (often synthetics like polyester)... making your own dresses is a way better idea and much more fun!

I rented the most fabulous Vampire’s Wife dress from Rotaro for a wedding recently. I felt really great in it and it was a great opportunity to have something for a few days that I would never be able (or willing!) to spend so much money on normally. Renting clothes especially occasion wear is such a good idea. Also the white dress and belt look fabulous on you!

the vintage dress probably is vintage! I have loads of dresses from the late '60s/early '70s and some have that kind of inner layer. In the '50s and '60s so many new fabrics were put on the market and polyester was BIG. That kind of "crunchy", thin, almost nylon-like one is pretty typical of that period! Also the prairie dresses started getting popular with hippies in natural fabrics and colours but they were soon copied by everyone, so it's not rare to find them in funky colours or materials 😉

Just bought my 15- month old girl pre loved overalls for winter, a dress and a sweater :) now I'm on a hunt for a good pair of winter boots and a hat for her. It's so wise to buy second hand clothes for kids, they just don't wear them long enough for things to get ruined. My 8 year old son is a different story though 😂

This was so much fun, it definitely takes some extra effort to make a secondhand item work for you but what unique finds!
I love the rental idea but I’d be so worried about spills 😱 especially when for me the main occasions would be weddings that involve food and drinks

I love the prairie style dress trend! I may have too many dresses in that style now, and probably soon it will go out of style, but it doesn’t matter because I love them! 😄
But they will come back in style again in a few decades and you can wear them again as vintage. I thought all my early 2000's stuff was so dated and I donated them but now they are all back!
