Problem the company will have to pay for the employe and you will have to pay taxes at the end of the year on your salary! Plus pay back the credit card :) It's better to get a cosigner to rent an apartment!

How does this system work for a 1099 independent contractor who owns a business and wants to set up ADP?

If you need the history like 12-24 months
Most places you only need 3-6 months of statements or stubs. If you need it to be longer This is a longer term option as well

yes this may be true, BUT ADP WILL report all this "income" to the IRS directly and you will owe taxes.
Adp will set aside money for your payroll taxes . You owe taxes regardless especially if you use a payment platform to take payments or your business
