Pegasus saving Galactica would have been my number two spot, only beaten for the top spot by the Adama Manoeuvre over New Caprica. Not just for the visual spectacle of 6 million tons of battlestar burning through the atmosphere, spewing Vipers as she plummeted towards the ground, but for the emotianal, air punching payoff too after cliffhanging us at the end of Season 2 and giving us months suspense between seasons and then weeks of build up, wondering how the hell Adama was going to pull off the rescue.

My thought too. I am probably making assumptions here, but I think it's difficult if not impossible for anyone not old enough to have been in a theater in 1977 to fully appreciate how mind-blowing the reveal of that Star destroyer was.
it may be cliche to say it, but we had simply NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT at the time. It left an overwhelming impression which still takes hold of me, 47 years later. I, myself would certainly have ranked that one higher.
