    Thanks for the video, helps in understanding your technique. How long would it take you to edit this photo, with all these steps, in real time?

      Funny you ask cause I actually timed myself on this 2 days ago.
      So when I first was learning this technique and doing every manually step by step, it would take about 3 to 5 minutes an image, roughly 3 hours for 35 images.
      Then over a few months I realized there were many steps that I repeated over and over again, which I then took and created an action to help speed things up.
      Now it takes:
      - 5-10 minutes to import and adjust settings in LR before importing into PS
      - Photoshop takes 30 to 50 minutes to edit about 35 images on a basic house, no window pulls. W/ window pulls maybe add another 10 minutes depending on the amount of windows and images.
      Total time: 1 hour
      In PS this breaks down to:
      - 20 seconds to 1.5 minutes per image to do a basic edit that is suitable for 99% RE photography
      - 2 to 5 minutes per image for higher-end photography (which I charge an extra $100 for) This might add to the total time an extra 30 minutes to an hour depending on the house and amount of rooms over a standard 4 bedroom house.
      - 10 to 30 minutes per image if I'm working on 1 or 2 portfolio pieces for myself and not for a client
      I plan on doing another full on location photoshoot as well as another full house edit in the future. Right now I'm just working on getting out videos that people have requested.

      Also, I've made a few videos I've labeled as "Speed Edits". If you check these out you'll see me edit in real time with no explanation, just a straight pure edit.
      They should give you a sense of how fast you might be able to get for the time being.
      Every month or so I get a little faster and faster though so I do plan on showing those new steps soon as well.

    Same process, I have a preset in lightroom I use as my go to, there is no need to use luminar.

      Yea I've quit using Luminar, no real need for it from what I've discovered.

    How are you triggering the camera? Is it possible to trigger the shutter from just the flash unit?

    • @BrandonWattsREP
      @BrandonWattsREP  Год назад

      I am using a Godox X Pro trigger that sits on top of my A7Siii.
      The camera is controlled by Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile App that tethers the camera to my android phone via it's own internal wifi. With this combo I am able to trigger the camera shutter which triggers the Godox flash unit I am using.
      Imaging Edge Mobile comes with newer Sony cameras though if you don't have it, you can use a Camranger to view and trigger your images from a phone or tablet. I used up until I got the A7Siii which has a great tethering connection.
      I've tried to find a way to trigger from the flash unit but haven't been able to find a solution to that as of yet.

    How were you able to get a good white balance bouncing off a yellow ceiling?

    • @BrandonWattsREP
      @BrandonWattsREP  Год назад +1

      I just got some microphones in so I'll be making a video on this soon.
      Though in a nutshell, I manually adjust my WB while on location to be as close as possible.
      Then in LR I'm able to easily adjust it from there by selecting something white with the eyedropper tool.
      Things become a lot harder when you are bouncing off 2 colors and I don't recommend it. It's easier to remove yellow from blue then it is to remove blue and yellow mixed together.
      In this photo I did my best to bounce off only the yellow walls and ceiling rather than off the corner that has both blue and yellow next to each other.

    Also the process looks time consuming. Simple Flambient 3to 5 mintues tops to edit an image.

    • @BrandonWattsREP
      @BrandonWattsREP  Год назад

      Simple flambient takes me less than 2 minutes to edits. Sometimes 30 seconds. In my videos I show and walk you through the process which takes time. But in reality, I use custom made actions that I created to do most of the work for me, nearly instantly.
