I remember the first time I heard U2 play and Bono sing. You could tell that there was something deep and special about them. I have been a huge fan of Bono's daughter Eve Hewson since I first saw her on The Knick. Bad Sisters is an amazing series. I love how Bono said🙏, blessings to them and to their team. Bono is just a super cool person!!
The world will end.. on New Years Dayyyy - I loved Bono's band in those days of childhood wonder, awe, and nuclear fear, (here again , wistful sigh) The Simpsons episode with Paul Anka is one of the greatest!
Oh... Bono. Or, as his name is: Paul! The band and the man... well, when I was at the age 17 years of age(-90s)... well, I still feel "funny" about it all but... Yeah, they made my journey of music possible.
The chasm between how Bono is perceived by the general public (non-U2 fans) and how good of a person he truly is is probably among the widest of any celebrity. Don’t get me wrong, I get why some people don’t like him. Anyone who dabbles into political/social issues is begging to be hated by considerable amount of people. I just wish people would realize he’s authentic. His activism is not an act. Hell, I disagree with most of his politics. But I respect him because I trust his motivation. I just think its a shame people can’t see through that.
“Don’t be Rush.” Seriously? I’m a fan of both U2 and Rush and I must say, that’s the first time I’ve ever heard a fellow musician disrespect Rush who are probably one of the most respected musicians and bands ever. I know you wouldn’t hear Geddy Lee telling someone to not be U2.
Yeah that stuck out to me too. I’m also a fan of both. So I actually listened to that part a couple times to see if I was understanding what he was saying. I think there was probably a bit of alcohol involved😂. And it was more commentary on prog-rock and not on Rush specifically. But I still thought it was kind of an unnecessary shot. Especially considering one of the most blatant ripoffs I’ve heard in modern rock was the last minute of Walk On by U2 vs Eclipse by Pink Floyd. So I guess some prog-rock bands are good enough for him to rip-off.
Yep about Walk On. I just found it odd he’d go out of his way to say that about 3 of the most respected musicians in rock history. Even people that aren’t fans of Rush will say, “I’m not a fan, but I see the talent and I get why people are.” If there’s one thing I’ve heard best to describe Rush is people saying they can’t believe that’s three guys up on stage that can get that kind of sound. I know Dave Grohl and Stewart Copeland , who both know Rush well, wouldn’t agree with what Bono said here
@@greengrass1072 I completely agree with you. I will say though that Bono has said things like this before and sometimes I can’t tell whether it’s an inside joke or a product of perhaps being tipsy(or both). He’s said it about people that we all know he clearly respects and likes. I’ve heard him say something like this about Bruce Springsteen. Chris Martin. Phil Collins.. I’m not trying to make excuses for him. But we all know he’s not a bad guy. That’s why I think there must be more to this than on the surface.
Guys, don't let your guests be too serious for too long. Your format is being easy, make them guests play along. Stay away from bias politics tilted to the Left. Jason does it better in that department.
murder ville santa clause the 1st ep i watched the improv+entertainment+mystery it brings was a beast and the guest stars were game. i was a u2 fan but when they go expressing their "nobel peace prizes political views and affiliations" i skipped
One of the best you’ve done! What an amazing, kind and humble guy. And also, Inhaler is one of my favorite bands! He’s got a legacy!

Just when I thought I couldn’t love this anymore, enter Bono. Thank you! By far my favourite celebrity (after these 3 guys of course 🤔😂😂)
I was able to go to see the Surrender show in SF and it was is incredible. Go see it if you can. Bono is one of a kind. Such a blessing of a man.
Me too!
Love love love this one! You guys are so hilarious and profound. Chef's kiss to you all!
Damn guys! First Steven Spielberg, and now Bono?!? Who's next, Jesus?
No, Satin. AKA Biden.
One of my favourite concert experiences ever was U2 PopMart in Las Vegas. I would LOVE to see a U2 residency! 🤩
Pop is what got me into U2. Popmart was a great tour
Your wish is their command. U2 is doing a Vegas residency.
I am ashamed at how long I just stare at the color bands coming out of their heads.
Thought it was just me🤣
Me too 😄
Thank goodness I stopped getting high forty years ago.

So so wish these pods were on screen too. 👏🏻❤️

❤ U2 and Bad Sisters- I didn’t know the actress was his daughter until half way thru the season!
The best show on Apple TV!
How’d he forget he’s in across the universe!

Great podcast!
So good …..thank you..❤
Follow Kathleen Madigan’s lead: video of you guys doing the podcast. No one cares if it’s not perfect. You three are perfect. :) 😊
Only podcast I listen to... and Bono made it extra....
You were issued a challenge, via his commentary, to invite Roseanne Barr on. Can you connect those dots with your EQ or IQ? Perfect timing, as well.
The guest is u2 not RUclips
❤

The podcast is clearly Arnett's best work ever. Stomps the shit out of his crap talk show spots.
