@@coreyw5981 right? Like I already heard Pink Floyd and Metallica and all of that but slipknot was just something fucking else man they really had the edge and mysterious ness that kept me wanting more from them nothing tops their first couple albums , so ahead of their time and the costumes were creepy and definitely added to their vibe . But Joeys drumming , I can go on forever about
I remember when I first heard this song when I was in high school, and it changed my life, no lie. Slipknot was one of the biggest gateway bands for me on the way to heavier and more extreme stuff. I kind of left them behind at some point, hardly ever listening to them. When I heard about Joey, I put this album on and was transported back to those days. A lot of emotions came up, some good, some bad. Nostalgia for the good old days, heartbreak for Joey and his family. Slipknot will always be special to me. Very few bands come out of the gate with such savagery and earnest aggression, it was perfect for 16yo me, pissed at the world. Got me through some shit. And Joey was a massive, integral part of that. RIP Joey, thank you.
RIP joey, he inspired me to start playing metal drums and has always been such an inspiration to me, its such a shame he's gone but he will never be forgotten. Legends never die🤘🤘🤘
considering they threw him out of the band like a piece of trash when his health problems started to affect his live playing, im sure he's not too broken up about it
@@beejusfingus if you ever hear him talk about joe he is still conflicted about the situation. They were brothers for a long time, even if they hadn’t spoken for ages this will hit Corey hard
@@beejusfingus they only gmailed him since they didn't wanna break it to him in real life. It would've hurt them too much. It was because jordison was in the hospital and touring he could've died. Corey didn't see another option and it was for his well being.
I didn't realize the guitar was so complex in this track! Wow.. amazing cover, and I love that you headbanged to it simultaneously.. RIP Joey, and long live the metal that was created!
First song, from being a big gamer I heard by them was Before I Forget from Guitar Hero 3 it’s was different, then… Psychosocial from Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock which was awesome then got into their library via a former schoolmate back in 2011/2012. An amazing band to enjoy and dive into with how unique their stuff is, I actually let my mom recently listen to a few of their more popular stuff and surprisingly enjoyed it. My favorite band of all-time is Avenged Sevenfold and pretty high up there is Slipknot if I want that raw energy to get going. Paul Gray’s loss was so sad and now Joey? I know their best moments will carry on through Slipknot all the maggots. So to Paul and Joey… In Loving Memory, thank you for what you contributed to music. 😥
Joey has went from #1 in Slipknot to #1 in all our hearts. At least he and Paul can finally rock out together in heaven. RIP Joey, and great cover Nik.
Slipknot was my gateway band into heavier music, They did and still do a lot for the metal community and its growth, and Joey was one of the masterminds behind it. Also, I think Iowa is a metal classic (I know this song is from the self-titled). I forgot how much I like this Song
Man, Slipknot were a big reason I got into heavy music alongside SOAD I remember Joey's drum solo on the rotating kit and watched it so many times because of how insane it seemed to my brain back then I may not listen to Slipknot much any more, but seeing Joey pass reminded me of how much they actually meant to me and paved the way for my taste in music RIP Joey
My first song was Purity..then this.. I just love the dynamics in Joeys drums and how it matches Corey and how everything works .. originality and cool.. rip Joey you contributed so much 🖤1️⃣
People say Joey sucks for stupid reasons like he wasn't the fastest. I fucking love how he wasn't some monotonous blast beater the whole time. He actually created a musical piece with his playing. He added such perfect textures and colors to slipknot's craziness
The third metal song I ever heard. My favorite album from Slipknot will always be the first one since that album was what sparked my love for metal music.
This is the very first song I've heard by that band, and even if I didn't quite keep up with them over the years, I definitely have to credit them for introducing me to heavy music at a young age.
Here's to Joey Jordison! The man was and forever will be a legend to us all. Rest easy, and thank you for all the inspiration you've given to the world of music.
Fell in love with Slipknot because of the drum sound on this album. Sadly, they never returned to this sound again. Don't get me wrong, I still love Slipknot but the sound of drums on this album is something special.
I know people like to shit on slipknot, nu metal in general, and say things like they're too angsty, you're too old to listen to it etc etc but they are one band that I will always check out anything new they do no matter what
The first Slipknot song I heard too, still love this song and always will! It was awesome to watch these guys climb to the top of the heavy music world ❤️🔥🤍💙
I remember listening to listening to slipknot for the first time after like 5 years of been a guitar master race kinda guy... Listening to Joey killing it in the drums on Eyeless made me think "Fok...Been that fast shouldn't be possible " RIP Joey, What a legend...
Same bro, this was the first track I heard by them back in the dayyy. Amazing cover, you killed it. You should cover three nil. That song freakin slaps. Rip Joey
My first and favorite Slipknot song is Duality. I just remember being wowed by the pinch harmonics which at that point I hadn't really heard before, atleast not used in that way and it just grabbed my attention and made me want to hear more. RIP Joey #1
*The first Slipknot song I ever heard*
Listen bro i got an idea Metal guitarist learns drums
maybe do meshuggah bleed
This song is my first song in metal music ❤
Same here.
mine from slipknot was Killpop
One of the best Slipknot songs ever. RIP Joey Jordison.
and Paul
@@elfontheshelf8400 i think people care about joey more because he died young due to his ailment. Paul was a junkie that od on heroin.
Joey Jordison wasn’t just a drummer. He was a musician, an artist, a master.
And percussion was his craft.
R. I. P.
He was THE drummer
First song that got me into slip knot when I was 9
Rip Paul grey and Joey jordision
That video blew my fucking mind when it came out when i was 9. Never seen anything like it

R.I.P Joey Jordison, his legendary drumming skills will live on. No one can smash 'Eyeless' the way he could.
Or purity
First slipknot song I ever heard. Legendary. Joey and his opening fill with forever have a special place in my heart
ive tried ur right 😅 but i will continue to attempt it for joey r.i.p

Yeah they one the heaviest bands I like along with pantera and korn
Absolute classic. Rest in peace Joey Jordison.
Slipknot was so revolutionary for heavy music.
rs
they’re so iconic
They’re just watered down extreme metal tbh
RIP Joey, what a fuckin' legend.
Still can’t believe Joey died. RIP
2:21 really sets the mood for the breakdown.
R.I.P. the homie

@Gerrit Todd why do you have to turn a situation like this against a group that you clearly dont like?
RIP Joey Jordison 🤘🏾
RIP Joey. Awesome cover.
Without watching I already know this is gonna be awesome
Im from Des Moines and they are the best thing ever out my city.
As someone who shits on my roommate from Iowa, I would tend to agree.
It's all in good fun, though, hopefully.
That ending breakdown still slaps SO hard. Legendary drummer for a legendary band. RIP Joey

Met Joey on their first tour in 2000, nicest dude you could ever meet. RIP. Nice work Nik
The third metal song I ever heard. My favorite album from Slipknot will always be the first one since that album was what sparked my love for metal music.
a song featuring both of our late kings, they're both making music for whoever
This song for many of us literally opened up the gateway for us to discover more bands and heavier ones.
Rip Joey ❤️. If it wasn’t for slipknot, I would’ve never gotten into heavier music.
My fav Slipknot song - “Don’t get close”
Absolute banger!! and it doesn’t get the hype it deserves
Also the first Slipknot song I ever heard. I was 9 years old. It's what brought me down the heavy metal path.
Yes!!! Saw them at 99 ozzfest and was instantly hooked! Great cover!!!!! R.I.P Joey :-(
The drums on Eyeless were a huge part of why I got into metal.
RIP Joey
I was absolutely gutted when I heard Joey had passed. Such a talented drummer. He will forever be in our hearts, and our ears. ❤️
This is the very first song I've heard by that band, and even if I didn't quite keep up with them over the years, I definitely have to credit them for introducing me to heavy music at a young age.
this song turned everyone who heard it into a metal head. First song i ever learned with double kick. banger song and great job on the cover brother

My first concert was at Mayhem 2008 and as a drummer it was one of the best shows ever!
One of the greatest metal albums of all time! Definitely one of the most influential of this generation! Definitely a 11/10 album!! 🤘🤘
So many classic songs off that album! Killer cover as always. RIP Joey.
Rip joey
First song I heard by Slipknot was duality on an ATV video game when I was like 10, then this song got me hooked.
RIP Joey. Thanks for producing kickass mosh music for us. 🤘🏻
I listened to this song over 200 times when I first got into metal, no exaggeration. rip joey
No song sounds like this song. The riffs especially are unique and original.
Kickass - also the first Slipknot song I heard.
RIP joey and thanks for providing the beat to my teenage years!!
The first Slipknot song I heard too, still love this song and always will! It was awesome to watch these guys climb to the top of the heavy music world ❤️🔥🤍💙
My first song I learned also. Such an impact. Rip to one of metals best drummers.
Disasterpiece got me into metal (along with skillet). Blown away by Joey. His drumming is so unique and fast. Good cover
I remember listening to listening to slipknot for the first time after like 5 years of been a guitar master race kinda guy... Listening to Joey killing it in the drums on Eyeless made me think "Fok...Been that fast shouldn't be possible "

R.I.P. Joey, you were more than just a drummer, you were the founder of a new era of music.
RIP Joey. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Power brother
Great cover! My favourite Slipknot songs are duality, before I forget and phychosocial but this song is new to me.
I start indulging myself in metal because of this song.
I have quite a fond memory for it, and would start playing it for weeks😂

Great suff, well friggin' done! ( I'm about to try to learn this one and will use some of your instruction so thanks!)
Don’t care what you listen to, nothing goes as hard as slipknot. You cannot headbang so easily to any other band in the world.
