Taco man! Work smarter not harder! You had a basket in the truck! Dump it in the van and then take back to the cans to fill! Would have saved you at least half the trips! I enjoy watching your shows and hearing about the metals/scrap and your philosophy of life!
WOW!!! That was EXCITING!!! 🦅When Hell Freezes Over🦅 is my favorite! You hit the jackpot Taco🔥I would love to see a video of the entire collection after they’re washed! Please?☺️
Fill your bathtub with hot water, put the t-shirts in and use Dawn dishwashing detergent, some baking soda, maybe some Oxy powder. Let them soak for several hours. Then wring them out and put in the washer. Look them over before you put them in the dryer. Some may need some extra work.
I think 90% of it wil come out with using baking soda added to the wash and rinse with white vinegar no chemicals works great. Soak first may need 2 cycles they are stains from being stored not thoroughly clean when stored. Mens sweat does that esp. with cotton items. I do this method with my reg. wash so everything is clean, no stains and remains bright looking new. Have a great day.
I always admire how you know what to take. You make a living from preventing resale items from going to the land fill. As you say," Saving the planet one trash pick at a time". More power to you.
I am GLAD you did not edit out the trash can scene. Thats exactly what folks want to see. You digging for treasure. Just think of all the treasures you have left behind because you have walked away from trash bags. PLEASE show more of that ! I give you credit for finally getting in to those trash bags Taco. I am sure Paper Moose would agree.
Wow that was good on scrap....YES!!!!!!!!!! You dug in the bins!!!!!!!!!! We like to see the digging!..... WOW what a GREAT score on those T-shirts!!!!!!!!! Good for you!!!
At 20:03, it's a barrister's cabinet. They do make newer ones, but that one looks old. If it's old, it has value even if broken. People buy the broken ones for replacement parts.
OMG Taco Stacks another awesome golden treasures trash picking day. Hugs and kisses for Queen Salsa and Queen Gracie. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT. THUMBS-UP ALWAYS!!!!!!
If you take a bar of ivory soap and grate it all up. Put it in very warm water and then soak those t-shirts in it, it should take away the yellowing and horrific pit stains! Great finds! I’m so happy for you, you deserve it!
You can check around your area, find out what co-axial wire is selling for and take tht roll to the flea market. There are lots of people who would like to buy it at a discounted price. Be better than scrap prices.
Taco, you really scored on that NJ house for the cleanout! You'll have more inventory than you know what to do with and that's a good thing haha! Congratulations and how about advertising for more clean outs? Everybody loves to watch it! Happy Spring!
Awesome video! Great clothes haul and vintage t-shirts. Soak 'em for a while and then see which to wash first ... no bleach or hot water. Those are gold! the Grievous Bodily Harm band shirt is a rare one from the later punk era. Wow!
Saving clothes from the landfill is a good thing too. I'm surprised you don't grab it all and just sort it later and donate what you don't want. YOU HIT THE CLOTHES JACKPOT! 😀(Do you wash those clothes at the laundromat in they're bulk washer, with ammonia/OXY for odor?)
yup. dont wanna put strangers clothes in your washer at home. HOT water and then you can soak them in a bleach load if you need to(white and very light colors only). ive been trying to get the schools in our county, to let me start a clothing pantry. they all have washers and dryers, and were striving to get another set for each school. i even volunteered to oversee the program. never heard from them about it. cant figure that one out. i asked you for t-shirts you found a couple of years ago. so im glad NOW that i didnt buy them from you.
@@dawnconner6123 Thanks for sharing what you planned. I'm sorry things didn't work out. I hope you don't give up and find something else to volunteer for. Years ago l benefitted from people like you ♥️at a Volunteers of America shelter in Sacramento. I am grateful they provided a warm bed for me. Maybe they have a need for you where you live?
Those aren't scissors, although you can use them as scissors I suppose. Those are tin snips for cutting sheet metal. Any metal crafter will use those. Good find.
Wow Taco! All those clothes made my head spin! Lol. You can always go back and get more when you head out to the scrap yard. Next time you go out trash picking, put a laundry basket in your van, so if you find clothes you can stuff them in your basket! Just a suggestion. You did awesome! Blessings to you and Salsa! ❤️✝️
Tim, you can take all the yellowed textiles, put them in a big bucket or bathtub with warm water and the powdered Oxiclean, leave them for about a half hour, come back and stir them about every 10 minutes. When the bubbles stop the Oxi is done working. Wring them out and wash in the machine like usual. It will remove most of the old dirt, and usually the bad smell. I use this method for wintage quilts all the time. Just don't leave them in the Oxi and forget them. I did that once over night and the fabric deteriorated.
Wow Stacks, what a score. Hope you went back and look and see if there was any other shirts there that you might of missed. 👕 Man, holy grail was right on point.
I used to have a consignment shop for children's clothes. For the white shirts, used equal parts of bleach and dishwasher detergent (powder ). Magic! Also, for rust stains, use Lysol toilet bowl cleaner.
Hey Taco 😃 Your excitement digging into retro clothes Heaven was really cute. I kept giggling because you kept moving the metal tubes wrapped in plastic 😂🤣 Dude... You left them Hahaha 🤑 You were definitely in a zone.... Gotta love ya😘
The Headboard is really neat. My husband had the Newport T-shirt. I remember him asleep in a hammock and I took his picture with that shirt on. Thanks for the memory.
Love your channel! Awesome score! Maybe carry some trash bags with you and use them for finds like this. Will you please do a video of the best shirts you found from this video after you've sorted through everything?
Oh my gosh, those clothes!!! I would have upended those cans into my car and sorted the lot at home. Some of the damaged clothes would be good for rags, our local mechanics are always chasing rags. Others could have been donated. Soak the clothes in your equivalent of our Napisan overnight. Will brighten most of the not so damaged items. If you can, hang theminthe sunshine and air them out. That Harley tshirt was awesome. Great score kiddo. I'm sure Renae will love going through that box of ephemera with you.
What??? You could have sold that Iron Headboard at the flea market for at least $100.00! It was gorgeous! Don’t overlook the good iron as scrap just because you found vintage t shirts!
GBH was a late 1970's punk rock band. They are still around and still making music now but the shirt looks old. That shirt could be worth something. And punk rockers do not mind stains and holes. 😆
All the clothes I would have taken even if it's not top dollar. Then sell the less valuable for 50p at the flea market. Even less than that with multi buys knowing its for free. The good ones I would pick out to sell separately as you are doing. Plus throw them in the laundry hehe
Well, THAT was fun! Fun watching you start out casually browsing through the shirts and then getting more and more excited until you were going all honey-badger on them. Made me smile a lot. Some of those shirts were from my era.
Just love some of those old homes you find on your routes, especially with nice big porches. Must not be a lot of homeless people around where you are picking, they would be all over the clothes. Someone on my street left a big box of clothes and every day there were less and less items. so many people camping in their cars, if they are lucky enough to have cars. Tarp tent in the wooded areas. I don't give them money thogh, know for a fact they use for drugs. If they have dogs I leave dog food. I am glad you got some clothing to be able to re sell.
Those scissors are tin snips. They may be large like that one or smaller. They cut metal anything that is a thinner metal also roof asphalt shingles and anything that is thicker. That was amazing! You did great! Wow! Love the Ts.... Like the other lady said...oxyclean will do wonders on the clothes and a squeeze of dawn dishwashing soap.👍✌💖
You should find an old wringer washer. Throw in a huge load , let it set a bit and then wring them out. A lot cheaper than using a regular washer and a clothes line is free. I still have my grandmothers wringer washer and it looks brand new. Still works like a charm. I have a clothes line holder on the garage wall. I pull it by the handle and walk it 24 feet and hook it up on the other side. I have 4 clotheslines to hang stuff up. In the summer, stuff dries quickly and smells great.
As others mentioned dissolve an oxygen bleach such as oxy in warm water, soak the clothing; coloured a few hours and whites & lights overnight and then dump in the washing machine. You’ll be happy with the stain removal.
Most clothing and linens can soak in a powdered Oxi Clean solution without harming color. If you have a top loading washer, you can fill tub, pull dial to stop washing cycle, and let items soak (hour or two or overnight. When ready, restart cycle. One consideration, if material is fragile use a bucket as described below. If you have a front loader, you can do it in a bucket in bathtub. Doing it in bathtub makes it easier to dump the water and rinse. You can repeat the soaking process multiple times. I use it on old quilts, linens, and clothing with a ratio of one gallon to 1/3 cup Oxy Clean powder. If the water is dirty, it means there is still dirt in the item, so soak again. Some stains are difficult to remove, but this process with remove the age discoloration for sure and possibly all the stains.
I would have taken that whole laundry basket and filled it with the stuff you wanted instead of making 12 trips back and forth with 5 shirts in your hand each time.
Slip a $20 bill to the guy with the roller to run it on your gravel driveway and parking area to compact it…😉. Throw a box of large trash bags in the van for the next time you come across a stash of shirts like that. Take care, B
I hope you didn't scrap that white and gold headboard. That should sell easily at the flea market! I'm guessing you can get a lot of the smell and dirt out of the shirts with oxyclean.
I was sitting here saying...'take the whole trash cans, take the whole cans...you and PAM can go through it all later!!!' but then you revealed why... Glad you went through the clothes. You got some great t- shirts. Use Dawn powerwash for stains especially the sweat stains. Believe it or not it works great.

My favorite thing was the iron headboard. I've been looking for something like that for my honeysuckle to grow on.
9:16 someone tell Taco he has a tote in his van that he can fill with clothes then bring it to his van. 🙃😁
LOL he prefers to carry them 3 shirts at a time back and forth in 12 trips.
He also had a good laundry basket he could have filled...
@@urmom5403 he wants to get his exercise taking 12 trips when it could be done in one LOL
Hi there Taco. Today has been extremely great in finding treasures in the trash. You nearly filled up the van. Have a wonderful day Taco.

That was an amazing t-shirt score. Please update us!!! Love from NJ.
May I reccommend Oxyclean? It does tend to get stains that regular washing won't shift. You can even make a paste out of it and pretreat with it.
Yep, may need a good soak!
I don’t those are pit stains. They were probably stacked up somewhere and they got mildewed.
You can use white vinegar in the rinse to remove odor and soften the clothes.
The Eagles Hell Freezes Over Tee is AMAZING!!! You hit the jackpot on these babies!!!
Job well done Taco!!!
Hell freezes Over / Eagles selling at 60__$. List it.???
Props to you for digging for the clothes.
Not scissors it's a tin snip

Hey Mr. Stacks, those “scissors” are tin snips, no?
You should find an old wringer washer. Throw in a huge load , let it set a bit and then wring them out. A lot cheaper than using a regular washer and a clothes line is free. I still have my grandmothers wringer washer and it looks brand new. Still works like a charm. I have a clothes line holder on the garage wall. I pull it by the handle and walk it 24 feet and hook it up on the other side. I have 4 clotheslines to hang stuff up. In the summer, stuff dries quickly and smells great.
