  • A bit of Monday work to start clearing fence lines up our mountain in preparation to move pigs to fresh ground. We use our pigs to naturally tear up and terrace the land, fertilizing as they go! Pastured pigs might be a bit more work, but it's totally worth it for the health of the animals and the quality of the pork (not to mention, they are pros at clearing land). It's about time to do it again, so here we go!

We are an American family living permanently in Ecuador, transforming a mostly-untouched 30 acres of jungle mountain into a working, self-sustainable, off-grid farm. There are a lot of trials, errors, successes, and lessons to be learned along the way. We hope to share it all with you, to tell our story, to inspire, and to hopefully help answer the questions you didn’t know to ask.
