Ended up breaking my Boom following this guide, which is fine I knew the risks and honestly mine is 5 years old and I didn't use it much more anyway. This guy glosses over the taking of the board out too quickly and makes it look much easier than it is. After looking more into it, I found that you should take the plastic pieces surrounding the rubber gasket out before attempting to take the mother board out. That way you can get at it from both sides to carefully and evenly pry the board out from the connector. Hope this helps someone.

My speaker is getting to be seven years old. I tried charging it last night after it’s sitting around for a while and it wouldn’t hold charge. I’m glad you made this video because it seems very simple to be able to replace the battery! Thank you!
Good vid, but here are some tips: if you have this type be careful! My battery cover didn't lift so easily, and I had to cut the clear silicone on the sides a little to loosen it and I made a tool (a bent piece of metal from an old windscreen wiper blade, just a small hook to gently lift up the cover). Also if you are good with a soldering iron, the batteries are ordinary lithium ion batteries such as found in old laptops. It's possible to remove the chip and heat sensor from the batt pack and replace with new ones, I also found it was hard to get it out even with the plastic strip, so be careful... Overall, this video totally helped! Thanks, excellent.

Quick question. So when the battery dies, can the UE Boom/Megaboom still be used with the power cord plugged in? Or does the entire speaker become a brick unless the battery is replaced? That's what I hate about Bluetooth devices with rechargeable batteries and vendors that don't support with battery replacement.

It may be your cord, or maybe the port. Try using a different cable, since plugging in and out to charge will eventually cause wear and tear. Just hope it's the cable and not the port on the speaker itself. Much cheaper to buy a new cord....hope this helps.

It may be something else, since your running on ac power directly. It should turn on, since your there and if you want to open it. Take the battery out and connect without the battery, either way you should get power.
I went to use it a few days ago. It said battery critical, plz charge. I plugged in the charger, the light started flashing & left it overnight. Came back the next day & it was dead
Well, since this speaker has been out for awhile now, and no battery change. Then I would try changing the battery, you have nothing to loose. Once you take the battery out, you can still plug it directly to ac, bypassing the battery. Good luck, theres also a battery link on the comments section, or try doing a search on amazon, Ebay etc for that speaker.
It was only early this week when it failed. I have tried charging it, but no flashing light & no power. I even tried resetting the speaker while plugged to ac & nothing. I have since pulled the battery out & charging & still nothing
@Movile Maia yes if no battery it should, it will just be a plug it in all the time deal. But just do a search for that battery and you might find it, and fyi...take your time if your going to try this. Be patient when removing as to not damage anything while working on the speaker, good luck
As you know, a battery will wear out with time and with more cycles, eventually it will give out. But this is normal, But if your asking about a new battery then yes, it should take a good charge.
I was wondering the same thing I would assume the IPX7 is compromised. It does snap back but when I took mine apart I noticed there was either a blue glue or a seal that was broken when I popped it off.
Can you play music when you have the charger plugged in? If no power then you might have a different issue, meaning the board. I believe if you take the battery out, you should still be able to use the charger, but again if you have no power ....then it may be another issue
@@hcdigitalart i can play music even without the charger in,but my problem is that i cant fully charge my speaker because when i plug it in,that white Light is not blinking.
So the battery must have gone thru its life cycle and may need to be replaced. Also remember that's an old speaker now, it's 2022, the battery has probably gone through its life cycle, hope this helps
It's been posted before on past comments, if not just do a search on Amazon for the speaker battery. It's been awhile and probably a different battery.
My megaboom don't work. It's always critical battery and the battery is to low to make music, also with the charger is in it. Is that the same problem?
May not be the same issue, since it's should work when plugged in to ac power. You can take a chance by trying to replace the battery or just buying a new speaker. I would just buy a new one, since this speaker is pretty old already. Also is the speaker up to date with the software? I would check that also...hope this helps.
The pins that connect the board to the speaker are very thin and delicate so if you lever the board up like in this vid it bends the pins - making it virtually impossible to get them back in the correct holes when pushing the board back in. The board needs to come out by being lifted or pulled straight up - this way the pins don't bend. I suspect I need a new board now....
Took my speaker apart there is a connecter that likes to pull apart and wreck the whole speaker so be careful . I'm on my third ue speaker and I'm getting tired of the 300 it cost me every time they fail
Word of advice, I dont buy ue anymore, at least not since this one. I have the jbl boom box. And other jbl's that I use. If I get any speaker now, it's just to make a review....

Also remember that's an old speaker now, it's 2022, the battery has probably gone through its life cycle, hope this helps
@@hcdigitalart yea,i'm gonna buy a new battery, thank you very much.
Thanks man. Can u send me the link for buy a new battery ?
Check the comments i have reposted the link to others on there.
Mine says critical battery when you put the charger in but doesn't charge help !!! please!!
mine does too. Did you figure it out?
Can you post the model by number of the battery
It's been posted before on past comments, if not just do a search on Amazon for the speaker battery. It's been awhile and probably a different battery.
Good evening!!! but , where can i get they battery!!! i was looking for Amazon but it's imposible!!! help me please!!!
Does this work on the megablast?
Can I just leave the two plastic washers out?
A lot of Thank's man!! #:)

Saludos desde Colombia, amigo bajo que referencia puedo comprar la batería para mi ue mega boom??
My megaboom don't work. It's always critical battery and the battery is to low to make music, also with the charger is in it. Is that the same problem?
May not be the same issue, since it's should work when plugged in to ac power. You can take a chance by trying to replace the battery or just buying a new speaker. I would just buy a new one, since this speaker is pretty old already. Also is the speaker up to date with the software? I would check that also...hope this helps.
I am trying for a long time to get the battery number 533-000138 and I can't get it, does anyone know where? Thank you.
As of right now because of the Corona virus, things are slow. But I got mine from Amazon, I just did a search for the battery model number..good luck
If we get a battery with higher mAh, will it last longer?
The pins that connect the board to the speaker are very thin and delicate so if you lever the board up like in this vid it bends the pins - making it virtually impossible to get them back in the correct holes when pushing the board back in. The board needs to come out by being lifted or pulled straight up - this way the pins don't bend. I suspect I need a new board now....
We’re you able to find somewhere to order a new board? I just did what you described
Sir, what the name of battery sir, ?
www.amazon.com/dp/B06XW5VV51/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_Uyt9FbNT4DQ5N
So can I use the speaker without battery ??
Yes you can
Can someone tell me .. Where can i buy a batery?
Check in one of the comments, or look on Amazon that's where I bought mine at
Does it remove the waterproofing
I haven't tried to see if it's still waterproof, since I had to open it. But at this point I would not try to submerge it into water.
This is the same speaker I have. If I turn up the volume, my speaker turns off automatically. Sir Kindly Explain any solution.
What's the link to the battery mate
Go to Amazon and type in ue megaboom, I had posted the link on here but now there's more to choose from. I just checked on Amazon....good luck
@@hcdigitalart cheers mate I appreciate the fast reply, are you going to continue making tutorial videos?
@@omen9442 off and on, im just all over the place with my channel, my adventures....stories etc. And if I can help someone out like with this video then surely, YES.
@@hcdigitalart I think you should so some more replacing parts if new devices that would help people out and more than likely make you some more money which is always a bonus once you've added advertising to the videos. 😉
@@omen9442 cool man, but as you can see I don't have advertising on my channel....its not so much about money, just helping .....
Where can i get the charging
Can you send me the link where i can buy the batterry ?
Do a search on Amazon for the battery, I have posted the link in the comments section before. But that may be outdated, hope this helps.
Tks bro. I did the replacement the battery but doesn't work. When I tested the bord with only power supplier the flesh light is on and I puted a new battery a flesh light still off
What's your repair follow-up since?
The only thing I can think of now is maybe you got a bad battery, and or check the software, they had issues with new software, do a search on the software issue and good luck trying to find this software. It's such an old speaker now, not even sure if they still support this speaker
Where can I get the battery?
Check the other comments, someone asked already and I posted the link, I bought it from Amazon
