Thank you! This is what I struggle with to stand firm but to help lead others in false doctrine. This advice really helps. Thank you.
Thank you, Pastor . Your message has confirmed what happened to me yesterday. I began to challenge as a man who says he is an LBGTQ Christian. I began to rebuke him. But I realized my error and began to share the gospel beginning with John 3:16-18. He hasn't repented as of yet. But I pray that someone will water the seed that was planted.
That’s awesome Sean. Keep reaching the lost. Praise God we don’t have to change or give up anything in order to be saved.

Beautiful message, thank you.
Thanks Jay!
WOW! Sometimes scripture just penetrates the bone and marrow.
Hebrews 10:5 KJV
"Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:"
It is so easy to forget ppl are deceived and lose sight and us defend grace without grace in mind. Guilty of this many times..
Thank you for the reminder and God bless y'all down there.
Hello! I know this is 6 months after the fact, But Jesse was talking about how one of the best things we can do is understand the context behind the books written in the Bible (Starting at about 25:00). Do you have a resource or two that lays out the context or setting of the various books of the Bible? I would look myself, but sometimes it's not so easy to decipher true teaching/context from false teaching/context. But I know the folks here are as solid as it comes with sound teaching. Thank You and God Bless!
When it comes to something specific like that, I would have to look around. Jesse may have something. I know Scofield does decent in determining authorship and audience. He isn’t always right though.
I would do this. Ask these questions (sounds basic) when starting into a Bible book: Who, what, when, where, why. Who wrote it? Who is he writing to? - Believers, unbelievers, teachers (false or true), Jews, Gentiles, both…?
When is sometimes less important. Where - what city, location, etc… - sometimes this helps with the who.
Why is the best question. Is the book about salvation, discipleship, the kingdom of heaven (Matthew for example), prophecy, teachers, etc…
This helps when determining context. I hope you can utilize this. The Holy Spirit will guide you.

How do we know that a doctrine is true or false? I think that is the first thing you should have explained to the audience, but you didn't because you yourself dont know, I guess. I ask this question to all protestants I meet but none of them could give a rational and sensible answer yet.
Well, first of all, we have to go according to what the Bible clearly says. We have to measure what men say according to what God has said. If the words of men contradict what God has said (for example: evolutionary sciences, or even something religious such as Calvinism) then we ought to deny what the man has said and be obedient to God's word.
False doctrines stem from the misunderstanding of the gospel. The gift of salvation is to all who will believe in Jesus Christ alone. It is FREE, not by works, keeping laws, sacraments, being good enough, or turning from sin. Jesus died for all sin. Therefore, the only thing one has to do to have eternal life is believe that Jesus did that for him.
I understand your frustration with many a Protestant. Even we have issues with one another over crucial doctrines (like, we refute the teachings of Calvinism wholesale; as that God picks and chooses those who are saved). Nevertheless, many of the very Protestants you accuse are no different than what you teach (I assume Catholicism?). They claim salvation is by grace through faith, but they say you were never really saved to begin with if you do not produce good works. They throw the works on the back end. Whereas someone such as yourself believes that keeping all of the sacraments/works are what saves you. There is no Biblical basis for believing either of these two stances. When it comes down to it, Jesus stated clearly; "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life," and many such words the like. I pray that you take this into consideration, and that you believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.

@@BibleLine You did not even get the question. How do you know that your interpretation is the correct one and all other bible believing christians are false in their interpretation? May be you are more intelligent than them? Or more holy? Or what?
@@BibleLineexcellent answer, Trent.
