The majority agrees with you. The only way to correct this is to “dissolve these official delegated positions” where a few immoral pawns are allowed to make corrupt, indoctrinated decisions and write the curriculum based on swayed politics and theoretical pseudo science agendas. Now, “create and vote in many local groups of decision makers” who will follow a diversity of sound checks and balances and use multi-cultural studies that will improve every child’s social & character development, with the emphasis on strengthening the family.
No longer relying on the competition of grade status, but focusing on each student’s talents then finding better ways to master them to develop confidence. Also learning the skills to improve weaknesses. Learning sound principles through social activities such as: ethics, etiquettes, the 12 principles of the Scout Law, how to become self sustaining outside the home with a budget, successful work habits, the value of saving money, well-thought out career choices, buying a home, and car investments. How to become a good citizen.

I'm a researcher who has studied the unraveling of society and the Earth for 15 years. I work very hard to get the facts right, but most people aren't caught up on the research, so they don't know how human activity is destroying the ability of the Earth to support life, or don't know just how much of an emergency this is. I suppose that when you aren't reading the research daily but are consuming social media that spreads dangerous half-truths like "CO2 is good for plants, so everything will be fine," what I'm saying doesn't fit your thinking so it sounds like bs to you. But those are the facts, and we've known for more than a century that more greenhouse gases means a warmer Earth. Even Exxon's own internal memos from its scientists admit this and accurately predicted (back in the 1980s) how much the Earth would warm if we kept burning fossil fuels.
I'm just trying to do what I can to warn people so we can turn things around before it's too late for current and future generations.

I was mainly thinking of science here. Just building the Large Hadron Collider cost 7.5 billion and who knows how much have been spent on operational costs plus the staff and so on, on this kind of basic research. In the social sciences in some fields they just push out peer reviewed nonsense with next to zero methodological credibility but they've managed to build a business around it which guarantees that they can make a living out of that and teaching young people nonsense. And once people's livelihoods and life's work is in there you can't really expect them to be fully honest and ready to scrap their speculations they call theories. Once something gets tangled up with big money and politics it becomes unavoidable that it becomes corrupt. Science depending on the field is in neck deep.

Earth warms and ice caps melt-
1.Billionaires will find their beach front mansions under water-new beach is inland where poor people live- billionaires must pay poor people huge amounts for the beach property- hooray for wealth redistribution
    2. Sea levels rise- whale habitat increases- and their population expands- Yay for whales
    3. More ocean means more fish which means more seafood for the poor - Go poor people!!
    4. Expansion of sea surface means more rainfall and more fresh water-Down with droughts!!
    5. More rainfall means deserts across the globe become arable farmland and we have a huge surplus of low cost food- great for previously starving, but now overweight Africans.
    6. melted glaciers mean Siberia, N. Canada, Antarctica, Greenland and Iceland are now open for people to move and live there- Yes to homesteading.

If the predictions are wrong it follows that there's something wrong or incomplete with scientists understanding. I referred a little earlier to a profound and subtle change in the nature and purpose of science, and here's a key point about it; This is not about advancing scientific knowledge on climate. It's about war. And science is one of the weapons used in that war. Science has been weaponized."

I live in a northern climate, it gets freaking cold in the winter, i'd love to live in a climate more like Florida. I am being open minded about global warming, and I'm not a scientist, but the worst case scenarios that are being thrown out don't seem like anything we couldn't adapt to. An ice age would be worse for us, and they are saying that won't happen for another 100,000 years or more because of the orbit of the Earth.

Much of the hysteria about seasonal climate change forgets that climate is driven by the seasons and the geographical position of the sun throughout the year. Cloud generation and therefore flooding accelerates when the sun crosses the equator and cloud generation increases as it follows the sun, providing localized seasonal changes in rainfall on changing seasonal regional land surfaces. It is often said by some that cosmic radiation causes cloud nucleation, however, the moisture/humidity has to exist if indeed new cloud is formed by this method. World weather maps generated from satellite data, confirm that the amount of cloud generated around the tropics has increased exponentially, with the loss of forest and as a result of land mass displacement following of the current crustal displacement caused by the current pole shift.
Whilst cyclical historic climatic patterns are a guide to future climate, so many factors and accurate data are missing from historic data and projected computer models. Our planet and its climate change is affected by its variable orbit around the sun, solar activity cycles, variations in earthquake and volcanic activity, pole shift, solar and cosmic radiation, impact from passing planetary debris, to name but a few of the causes. Seasonal cyclical climatic variations throughout the calendar year depend on location, the Sun's position during the day and night and the elliptical orbit and distance between the Earth and the Sun. The increase in the release of CO2 by man, has a minute affect on weather. The release of methane from livestock whose population numbers are similar to the human population are far more damaging than the CO2 man produces. In addition, we are led to believe the alleged heat trapped by the 1 in 2,500 molecules of CO2 in the atmosphere makes a bee line for the CO2 molecules and does not go anywhere near the 2,499 molecules of other atmospheric gases! Radiant heat from the Earth's surface does bounce around CO2 molecules, but ultimately it escapes. The Clouds have an infinitely greater ability to trap heat since cloud as we are all very aware, clouds help prevent frosts and prevents the sun from warming the Earth's surface!
Of greater affect on the world climate is the destruction of forest, particularly around the tropics where lack of trees to absorb the sun's radiation causes tropical (not global) warming and the absorption of much more moisture from the tropical seas as a result of higher air and sea temperature. Global solar minimum records may have been a guide to future climate from past records, however, the affects of the pole shift are altering global conditions and projections from historic records and cycles. At the last GSM, we were not experiencing the extreme temperatures and extreme weather events now being recorded! Also, we did not experience such a huge increase in earthquake and volcanic activity. (Sometimes as many as 4000 earthquakes over 2.5 on the Richter scale each month instead of 200, 16 years ago and over 70 erupting volcanoes each month as opposed to 3, 16 years ago.) Huge cracks and sink holes have also increased year by year in the last 16 years as a result of the stress on the crust from the current crustal slip.
So one cause for the escalation of extreme weather events is simple...less trees in the tropics each year....less to absorb the suns radiation = tropical warming (NOT GLOBAL WARMING!). Higher temperature around the tropics = more moisture evaporated from the oceans producing much warmer, denser and increased cloud production (hence more flooding in tropics where tree cover is reduced).....then more and denser ‘tropical rainforest clouds’ carrying more moisture, escape the tropics as intense heat on cleared land creates lift to allow these clouds to escape the tropics on trade winds...hence regional cooling effect away from the tropics as cloud cover increases and increased rain and snow fall away from the tropics, whilst extra cloud cover also traps the extra heat travelling up from the tropics. Less trees in the tropics each year = less biomass to sequester the CO2. As the ocean warms, the warmer seas travel north to the Arctic and south to the Antarctic. As warmer air from the tropics travels north and south, air is warmer in the Arctic and in the Antarctic....simples!’ The warmer air and seas distorts the position of the jet stream pushing it north towards west Canada and north towards the UK but there is a counteractive force pushing the jet stream south at some geographical locations as a result of the increase in cloud cover escaping the Tropics, which cools some areas of the ocean through reduced radiation from the sun.

Acid rain wasn't a particularly bad problem for anything but marble monuments when rain falls through sulfur on the way down over a city that's producing a lot of it. It didn't kill off trees or destroy lakes. As far as that is concerned, it's a hoax. China now has insane levels of sulfur emissions. Their cities are gross because they don't capture any fly ash pretty much at all, smoggy messes, but the surrounding countryside isn't suffering from acidification.
What you "remember" is a lie. It was a lie carefully prepared and fed to you. You believed it then and still remember it as true. It never was.
We HAVE had problems with pollution. Chemical factories have dumped nasty stuff into lakes. Plants and refineries released lots of uglies into the air. Ordinary people used rivers as trash cans. Cities dumped their wastewater with minimal treatment into lakes, rivers, and oceans. We mostly got them to stop. (Baltimore is still doing it. So is New York City. So is San Francisco. But most places stopped.) This was good. It's not the SPECIFIC INSTANCES of SPECIFIC KINDS of pollution. It's rather this myth that a widespread, irreversible ecological catastrophe is unfolding that must be stopped through really massive measures. One is real. The other is a hoax.

The world has been warming since the Little Ice Age 1600s-1700s, and about 150-200 years later , C02 started appreciably increasing. C02 shows no meaningful causal correlation to temperature at any timeframe, including the contemporary, evidenced by temperature "pauses" for a decade after 2000, and temperature declines for ~4 decades after 1940's, at precisely the time human emissions exploded. Waste warms. I can't agree with all this speaker is saying, he ignores the public trend to object to the poisoning of the biosphere. He does however blow the lid off the corporate generated regulation through lobbying. In the UK our bins are emptied every two weeks, we regulate our waste accordingly, for the most of us. If our bins were emptied once a month we would regulate our waste accordingly. And accordingly businesses would comply with the peoples desire to generate less waste. The crisis is not global warming it is depletion of global resources. Diesel fuel takes less than half the energy to extract than petrol does, so the answer is to make the diesel car more efficient, not to ban it. Diesel engines last twice as long as petrol engines, but efficiency is not the best part of the capitalist model. De-industrialisation of Europe or America only means the hairdryer is made further away. It's carbon footprint is increased! Every city in the world should have a dedicated hairdryer factory until it can produce an hairdryer that never wears out. The German economy is built on the back of the car industry, not very green, however, if Germany had a coast line, like the UK, they would have tidal generators not windmills. (Note to UK gov, Tidal power stations cheaper, last longer, don't involve mining or de-commissioning and kinder to wildlife than nuclear) All of the advances made in eco friendly alternatives in the last 40 years have been driven by public opinion in spite of the corporations need for ever expanding profits and the EU suppression of public opinion. So, don't be a fashion victim, fix it if it's busted, pass it on if you don't need it any more and don't bin it, recycle it. The rag and bone man with his horse and cart was politically correct in every respect.

Wind farms in South Australia are now providing more than 50% of their power, effect on the environment is negligible, it's more of the aesthetic issue whether you like how they look or not.

Wind power compared to all other power generated worldwide is something like .04%

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any young people in the audience listening to this.

Unfortunately Yes it is thruth. There at the audience were just mostly old people and were not the generations which are now in front of the future, the new and future generations. Unfortunately we will continue seeing a clear climate change.

If this is meant to be intellectual history, it is very silly. Just one example: the idea that Hitler was an environmentalist because he was curious about wind power is ludicrous. The problem for Hitler was the lack of oil in Germany. The German divisions headed to the Caucasus to try to grab the oil there. On the failure of this venture, it is not surprising that he soon became interested in alternative sources of power. It was not love of the environment that was driving his curiosity.

Just talk about it: Is it a big or a small fire, and who contributed to it. - Yes talk and talk,- and call the fire brigade in the last second or forget it at all, - because you want to waste all time to bring your personal arguments to the attention of as vast an audience as possible, we will die happier then; .... what an achievement!

The Dude "I will take global warming seriously when no-one wants to buy ocean front property and when banks refuse to finance it." Yeah, cause scientific evidence is no match for the real estate market. This is why it's impossible to get through to so many - and probably why the term "oxygen thief" was coined. Anyone who thinks any of this makes any sense - two words "peer review". Look it up.

There is no amount of money that would make me stand up in front of a room full of people and lie to them, like Rupert Darwell did. My self-respect is not for sale.
