Thanks! Never heard of Arthur Strachan before so as a fan of this genre this is exciting stuff. I always love to hear accounts of these adventures in the wilderness from people who have experienced it first hand.
Sir Pls Read From "INDIA ADVENTURE STORIES" by PATRICK GRIFFITH. GREAT COLLECTIONS OF JUNGLE, MANEATER, ADVENTURE, PARANORMAL INDIAN STORIES. 3 VOLUME AMAZON. 🙏📚🙏👍 Love your True stories
Bravo 👏 That was a breathtakingly terrifying story. We are so used to seeing these magnificent animals cooped up in cages and zoos that very very few of us will ever have any conception of seeing them in their natural habitat, as he author says. It just goes on to show the risks Jim Corbett took when he went after them on foot.
😂😂yes it did. Anyone who still uses animals as props in circuses iin the 21st century deserves worse than a mauling. Atleast Strachan was man enough to go after them sportingly and on foot
Thank you for bringing these other authors to light. Corbett and Anderson are fairly well known but it's delightful to hear the works of these lesser known writers.
Yes, absolutely. There are so many other good ones out there who have written about their first-hand experiences. Hopefully, I can get to some more of them. Thanks for the comment!
The ending was superb. Some would say that the consequences were inevitable. You can only play with fire for so long. Atleast, he was a good sport about it and got a tale to tell for the rest of life at every family gathering.
Great storytelling as always. Strachan's got panache in his writing. Able to maintain and hold tension in the narrative. And you captured it well with your voice.
WOW ! You just keep getting better at telling these exciting stories. I am even more impressed now with Jim Corbett. To think about the dozens of times he faced this situation and prevailed. Excellent Narration !
What a incredible brave account of the survival From the jaws and claws of a maddened tigress seeking revenge on her pursuers ,It requires such incredible courage and perhaps a great deal of luck to have survived the charge, Ihope that his injuries completely healed
I love your work. Came across this station fairly recently and you have re-introduced me to an entire new literary canon that I previously had only passing interest in. I'm quite familiar with the writings of Teddy Roosevelt and JH Patterson but here I have gotten to sample other great works besides those two. Keep up the good work. Greetings from New Mexico, USA.
Great narration as always, these stories get your blood pumping. Seeing a tiger in the wild must be a magnificent sight, like seeing a grizzly bear in the wild, they look a lot bigger. They walk with a swagger that exudes power and confidence. Arthur W. Stratchans writings paints wonderful word pictures as the story unfolds, and your narration brought them to life. Thank you for bringing these stories to us, your loyal listeners.
This story is amazing! I love the fact that it has background sounds...it remains me of Jim Corbett's stories!. Amazing narration...keep up the good work...blessings from Phoenix Arizona!!
What a treat! Excellent audio rendition of this story, of which I hadn't heard of. Mr. Strachan must have realized how incredibly lucky he was. I can only imagine what happens to helpless individuals who are left on their own with no firearm to face the nature's fury in the form of jaws and claws. Timothy Treadwell's story is also another famous incident of such kind but sadly for him he paid a heavier price than Arthur Strachan.
A tragic end though but thank God that you were alive. All are not Jim Corbetts or Kenneth Anderson's. They had a profound knowledge of the jungles, languages which warn the hunters from different other animals and birds, a sixth sense and the experience before they graduated in hunting man eating tigers and leopards. Almost equally ruthless are the tigresses with young cubs on trail in the process of learning killing for survival. Domestic animals are their best bet but if a human being appears to be a threat the tigress doesn't show any fear or mercy. Anyways God bless in case you are still alive and kicking 👍👏👌❤️🙏
Wow , what an ending and what a story. Another perfectly read story as always by you , and another author iv not read or heard of. Where do you find them ,I thought I had read them all. But thank you again for all your time and effort in bringing these stories to us. It's much appreciated. Jim
Thanks as always for the encouragement. There's a local library here in Texas where I live that has a section of vintage books. There are other works out there but sadly very hard to get to as they have been out of print for a while.
Sir Pls Read From "INDIA ADVENTURE STORIES" by PATRICK GRIFFITH. GREAT COLLECTIONS OF JUNGLE, MANEATER, ADVENTURE, PARANORMAL INDIAN STORIES. 3 VOLUME AMAZON. 🙏📚🙏👍
Haha let's just say that there's a greater delight in bringing these stories from the past to others than the expectation of any little dough it would generate for me. These books and stories would otherwise be dead except to a select few individuals. I'm just glad to see there's a small audience for it out there. Thanks and I appreciate all your comments!
I'm going in chronological order with Mr. Corbett's works. I have a few more stories to get to before I can get to the Big Kahuna. Please enjoy some other authors in the interim.
Thanks! Never heard of Arthur Strachan before so as a fan of this genre this is exciting stuff. I always love to hear accounts of these adventures in the wilderness from people who have experienced it first hand.
Absolutely, thanks Andre!

That's very well said. I have always been in awe of all big cats, especially tigers.
Thanks for listening and for your comment!
This is reminding me of the Sigfried and Roy incident. To quote Chris Rock, "The TIGER went TIGER!!"
😂😂yes it did. Anyone who still uses animals as props in circuses iin the 21st century deserves worse than a mauling. Atleast Strachan was man enough to go after them sportingly and on foot
Not many live to tell the tale if they've been in the clutches of a tiger
That Chris Rock quote made me smile!

You're a great story teller. My wife and I listen to them over and over. SELVA LORE is our default channel.
Encouraging to hear that. Thanks for sharing!
Bone-chilling storytelling!
The ending was superb. Some would say that the consequences were inevitable. You can only play with fire for so long. Atleast, he was a good sport about it and got a tale to tell for the rest of life at every family gathering.
Indeed, this is not something that very many human beings have experienced. Thanks for listening!
Great storytelling as always. Strachan's got panache in his writing. Able to maintain and hold tension in the narrative. And you captured it well with your voice.
I agree, he had an engaging writing style. Thanks!
Follower since early days, before the rename. Love your voice and intonations.Keep up the good work.
That's wonderful and thank you so much for sharing with me!

Exactly, this puts Mr. Corbett's experiences into much better perspective.

Welcome aboard Mr. Sandoval! I'm hoping there's a lot more to come in due course including some from those two great names you mentioned.

Indeed! Perfectly described. Thank you for the comment!
Brave man. But I did feel feel sorry for the tiger, albeit having had killed a man. Thank You for this ripping yarn! 🙏
You're welcome. Thanks for the comment!
Wow Strachan’s second fire only wounded the tiger!
This story is amazing! I love the fact that it has background sounds...it remains me of Jim Corbett's stories!. Amazing narration...keep up the good work...blessings from Phoenix Arizona!!
Nice to hear that. Thanks for listening!
I love how matter-of-factly he states his condition towards the end. No regrets, or anything sombre. Just got on with it and accepted it.
They were a tough breed of men those days

Right on! I'm aware of Mr. Treadwell's story. Alaska is a tough place.
That was a pretty close encounter brought to life by your wonderful story reading. Thanks for etching it in our memories so vividly.
You're welcome and thank you again Mr. Trivedi!
Thank you for another excellent Jungle Tale. 🙏
Welcome and thanks for all your comments!
Great story, as always!
Thanks, as always Mr. Russell!
Top work as always Mr Singh and you go from strength to strength with these stories. Thank you so much.
All the encouraging comments from you, and the others, help to keep the motivation high. Thank you Mr. Black!
The intro music made think the story was going to be about a tiger that escaped in 1980s Miami.
Haha I was not familiar with that incident but then I'm not surprised since its Florida
A tragic end though but thank God that you were alive.

Wow the tigress mauled Strachan but he did kill her!

Wow it appears that Strachan badly damaged the tigress and maybe even killed her!
Wow Strachan had to have his limbs amputated!
Thanks for muting the music.
This story reminds me of Kenneth Anderson and the Hosdurga - Holalkere Tiger but with a much different ending .
I can’t believe Strachan misfired! Anderson and Corbett were never that careless!
There was a second tiger!
Thank you
You're welcome :)
Well Strachan killed a young tiger but not a maneater!
Escuchado ,amputado dos miembros ?
Waiting for Jungle Lore😊
I do hope to get there in due course. That is if I don't lose steam.
Please read Revenge of the Furious Tiger by Mr Claude Balls.
If you're not making money from RUclips by now, you definitely deserve to be
