About me:
Anna barely turned 12 years old when she started writing her own songs, a need to give her many feelings a vent. It may be her youth that blurred any style restrictions: Emo, Punk or Gothic have always been equally represented in her music collection - as long as it was true passion that lead the artists.
That is exactly the key element in her songs: they may all just be written by Anna in her room - but there always is that emphasis on true feelings and expressive lyrics.
This candor might be strange for some but it is just this distinction in her thinking, her direct lyrics and her vivid songwriting that make up Anna’s style.

can we talk about how high quality this video is for being uploaded 12 years ago? normally videos back then when uploaded were really pixel at 720p. this looks like a 1080p upscale, clean. even after a long time, visual quality degrades, but i see no degrading.

This song and video has given me so much comfort in my life. I have been depressed from the age of 5 and I’ve tried many medication for anxiety and depression and iver many years it’s not been for me. I’m 18yo now and if I do pass away I hope to feel how I hoped and dreamed I’d feel in this vide and this song. I think any recognition would snap me out of this fantasy. Not gonna lie thought this video was just some random false memory I had when I first started browsing RUclips practically a decade ago now that I think about it. Glad to know I wasn't crazy whenever this memory popped in and out of my head over the years.
For those who don't know, the emo style does not require you to be sad or depressed. Emo is an a brief I at ion for emotion, and emotion is not restricted to depressing feelings. If you are emo it does not mean you cut, or are suicidal. Emo means you quite literally wear your heart on your slewv, by dressing to how you are feeling. There are bright emos, and there are dark emos. They dress according to the way they feel. And sadly oftentimes people do feel depressed. They aren't pretending because they think it's cool. A lot of people suffer from depression and extreme sadness. And everyone will suffer through it at least once in their lives. Most people go through it in their teen years because those are a one of the hardest years in our lives. We are still trying to figure out who we are. And for some once they've decoders who they are they have to worry about how their parents will think of them. A lot of teens have trouble meeting their parents expectation a of who they should be because they just aren't that person. When my mom had me she wanted a little girl to take shopping and buy frilly pink dresses. And during my toddler years I was a pretty pink balarena. But when I got older I realized that that wasn't who I wanted to be. I was a goth at heart. And while I'm on the topic of "styles" goth, emo, punk and many other styles encompassing not just a certain way of dressing, or a special type music. Although goth did start as a music movement. But all of them are lifestyle choices. You can't just dress goth and truly be goth. Goth is a mindset. An appreciation for darker things. And finding beauty in those things. It is not devil worship or satanism. It is measly finding things like bats, or skeletons beautiful and interesting. I've explained emo as best I can but I am not emo so I can't really say that my description is 100% but I cm sure someone else can fill in whatever I missed. As for punk. Goth was as subculture that split from punk. Punks are people who are passionately angry about many things in the world they are really non conformist just like any stylised subculture. but for the most part the Punk culture was founded on anger. Ander at community, anger at society, and in some cases at the world. Punk was meant to be a movement that allowed people to show and express their anger in and society that usually tramples and shuts down their voices. So I hope this insight into the subcultures has given you a more educated look. And I really hope you will do useful things with this information and correct your possible negative view of this culture. I don't hate on you if you were simply unaware. However I'm sure there will be those of you who will read this and no make mockery of it. But never the less ir have done what I can to help fix the misconceptions

+Krystah Celine Emo is a style, even if it's short for emotional. Just because it's an abbreviation for another word doesn't mean it can't be something else at the same time. Unless you also means goth can't be a style? After all, Goth is the abbreviation of Gothic, which is, in and out of itself, many things at once. It was an old name for Germanic people, a language, an alphabet, an art movement, an architecture genre and a genre of fiction. It's still recognized as a sub culture, just like emo are.
And no, you don't really understand why people make fun of them. It's not because it isn't a style, it's because they are different. It's a pretty recent style and since it's out of the norm, people make fun of it, there is no deeper explanation. After all, people made fun of the punk style, the goth style, the skater style... Hum, actually, it would be way faster to tell you of which style they didn't make fun of, here's an extensive list of those : . It was fast, right? All that means is people make fun of what's different. Don't try to legitimize it otherwise, that would only be highly hypocritical.
