Painting a Wall Mural - Cherry Blossom Sakura Tree

- Hi there! I decided to paint a cherry blossom tree on my wall in my new room 🌸 I thought it would be fun and I love how it turned out in the end
I wanted it to have a storybook feel and be a nice addition to the space - also had a big blank wall, so I couldn’t resist!
I did it with a mixture of matt wall paint and acrylic craft paint
I also dod not have a plan going into this project haha

I really love Tom's reaction. He clearly loves it and thinks it is amazing and says so but then he puts it back on you, asking you to compliment your own work. Which is just a beautiful way of encouraging you to be proud of your own work not because of his opinion, because he will always love what you do, but to be proud because of the bits you love about it. You two are just so wholesome and cute and I love how supportive you are of each other in such subtle and important ways. Also Kirito reminds me of my baby, Luna, (name from Sailor Moon, she has a sister Artemis) who has the same black fluffy look and same mannerisms, being quietly curious and then just settling near you to hang out.
Ooooo, the tree was looking amazing then the line art brought it a whole step forward. I love the more subtle take on a mural compared to traditional mural. Great job as usual ^^.
I thought my favorite part would be the stencils, but it ended up being the outline! The outline changed it so much, that's so cool!! I love Tom's reaction too, so sweet!
at 3 minutes, we all are like “beautiful”! But at the end, there’s no words for how spectacular it is

Jamie, I love the fact that you use your walls to create art. That you just paint on them whenever you feel inspired. I am a wallartist and seriously, if I had a house I would love to do that, too. You inspired me to think that it is, seriously, a must do for an artsy person. :)

Interesting technique to wash the image with the thinned out wall color. That mural must bring out a smile when you see it. It sure did for Tom.
Having a trolley for everyday uses is such a nice thing to have. It keeps everything in an arms length without the need to cleanup after.

The cherry blossom tree turned out so lovely. The outlining of the trunk and blossoms was my favourite part, although the blossom colours are absolutely gorgeous and, finally, tying in the room colours really capped it all off!

I am not an artist but every once in a while I go thru a phase of drawing & a lot of the times it’s trees that I draw from the bottom up, I’m so excited to see if they look better drawing them top down instead, I bet my tree trunks won’t look so clunky anymore! So thank you for that lesson! I really enjoyed this video.

It looks so soft and delicate. One of your leaves looked like a clock face. Cool if you hide a few characters in the same color as an eye catcher.

-misty airbrushed blossoms
-incorporating the color palette of the rest of the room into the trunk
-the way the base of the trunk fades into the sunlight coming in from the window
-pro tip on drawing trees
-lovely flow from base to all the different branch tips
-explanation of all the different layers that went into achieving the overall mistiness
-Tom being dorky

The process always amazes me Ha ha ok I know I shouldn’t ‘worry’ about your artwork cause it always turns out stunning, but when you were halfway thru I was kinda like 😰…. But of course by the end 😲🤯😃

Its amazing how the outlining transformers the piece completely! I always get worried about outline painting because I thought it'd take away the blessing work I did but it looks so awesome!
When you zoomed in I couldn't believe the amount of different colours you used, it looks beautiful
