Star Wars is an American epic space opera multimedia franchise created by George Lucas, which began with the eponymous 1977 film and quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon.
The Star Wars franchise depicts the adventures of characters "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away", in which humans and many species of aliens (often humanoid) co-exist with robots (typically referred to in the films as 'droids'), who may assist them in their daily routines; space travel between planets is common due to lightspeed hyperspace technology. The planets range from wealthy, planet-wide cities to deserts scarcely populated by primitive tribes. Virtually any Earth biome, along with many fictional ones, has its counterpart as a Star Wars planet which, in most cases, teem with sentient and non-sentient alien life. The franchise also makes use of other astronomical objects such as asteroid fields and nebulae. Spacecraft range from small starfighters, to huge capital ships such as the Star Destroyers, to space stations such as the moon-sized Death Stars. Telecommunication includes two-way audio and audiovisual screens, holographic projections, and HoloNet (internet counterpart).
The universe of Star Wars is generally similar to ours but its laws of physics are less strict allowing for more imaginative stories. One result of that is a mystical power known as the Force which is described in the original film as "an energy field created by all living things ... [that] binds the galaxy together". The field is depicted as a kind of pantheistic god. Through training and meditation, those whom "the Force is strong with" exhibit various superpowers (such as telekinesis, precognition, telepathy, and manipulation of physical energy). It is believed nothing is impossible for the Force. The mentioned powers are wielded by two major knightly orders at conflict with each other: the Jedi, peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who act on the light side of the Force through non-attachment and arbitration, and the Sith, who use the dark side by manipulating fear and aggression. While Jedi Knights can be numerous, the Dark Lords of the Sith (or 'Darths') are intended to be limited to two: a master and their apprentice.
Force-wielders are very limited in numbers in comparison to the population. The Jedi and Sith prefer the use of a weapon called a lightsaber, a blade of plasma that can cut through virtually any surface and deflect energy bolts. The rest of the population, as well as renegades and soldiers, use plasma-powered blaster firearms. As a result of galaxy-scaled politics (involving republics, empires, kingdoms, alliances, etc.), all this weaponry is made use of in various military conflicts during which most Star Wars material takes place. In the outer reaches of the galaxy, crime syndicates such as the Hutt cartel are dominant. Bounty hunters are often employed by both gangsters and governments. Illicit activities include smuggling.
Christopher Lee was the perfect person to portray Count Dooku. Do you agree??
I mean he was the inspiration for 007.
That he was!
@@Strwrsgrl01didn’t know that! Amazing though
@@bobs8005that it is!
@@Strwrsgrl01And actually fought him in Man with the Golden Gun.
Sir Christopher Lee was the absolute 100% best casting choice for Count Dooku without a doubt
Agreed
Bruuuuuh. He was only called "Count" because Lee used to play Dracula.
It's OK kid, we get that you have no idea so.... 😂
I agree
@@yoholmes273how does his name choice affect how good of a choice the actor is for the character
@@EyeofsorenMIss the point often?
"The character" was written as an el cheapo ripoff of Lee's previous "Count" character.
If you dont think the part of Count Dorko was not written specifically for Lee........think again.
"That's not the sound a man makes when he dies."
When I saw that video I got chills lol
"It's more like: AH!"
"That's not how a man sounds when he loses his hands to a lightsaber, George."
Gotta appreciate how Christopher Lee, no matter what he was acting in, gave it his all. Obviously Star Wars is no Shakespeare, but that didn't matter to him. Absolutely stellar actor. RIP.
That he was, Star Wars, LOTR, you name it. He has killed every role he has been In
He loved that kinda thing though. The fantasy and all the drama.
Bro.... stars wars is literally modern day romanticism era. And he even played that part as such.
Star Wars isn't shakespeare, but it is magic according to Christopher Lee.
The important thing about being a character isn't to be perfect at it. It is to be good at it as well as being someone that the fans could enjoy.
This guy is basically all of that. Lol
Christopher Lee was a beautiful human.
That he was
You missed your opportunity to say, “Christopher Lee, you’re a wonderful human being.”
He was a real killer...
He very much loved cinema, the fans and being part of it which was so special to many people. Very old school. Such a strong on screen presence to.
@@peterang6912 huh
Imagine this man as your grandfather, reading you stories😂
He is grandfatherly, but he was also a pretty dangerous man in his own right, having been some kind of commando in WW II. I would bet when you see him in a scene, he is the only real killer on stage.
😂

I love watching the Christopher Lee interviews. He talks like Tolkien but you can see a childlike light in his eyes. Inspiring
And you can actually understand what he says, if you got what I mean.
Someone once called Dooku, "the gentleman Sith."
I've always agreed with that, and Sir Lee portrayed this demeanor very well indeed
Rest in peace Christopher Lee. Such a legendary actor. I grew up with him as Count Dooku and Saruman.
I liked his heavy metal Christmas album.
And the older generations likes him as Dracula!
Perhaps a forgettable role, but in addition to these 2, but also as Willy Wonka's dad.

Cool person. He was there for a book signing
How?
Sir Christopher Lee had the most elegant way of displaying a sword combat in Star Wars.
Christopher Lee was such an extremely interesting man, I've loved all his performances. He just gave his absolute all no matter what the role was. RIP to an absolutely Legendary Actor🙏
What goddamn legend
💪🏽
A real life bad ass and a legend. They just don’t make them like this anymore.
That they don’t
Christopher Lee was such an amazing actor. I know the story is legendary by now, but I love how when Peter Jackson was describing the noise Saurumon would make while getting stabbed in the back to Lee, Lee was just all "that's not the sound a man makes when je gets stabbed in the back. Do you know the sound a man makes when he gets stabbed in the back? Because I do."
Yea, that video of him was insane lol
Total BadAss
It's the closest he ever got to describing any of his service activity.
I love his response to being asked about it:
Lee: Can you keep a secret?
Reporter: Yeah.
Lee: So can I.
Class!
Do you know why he knew? Man was a SAS commando in the balkans working with Tito fighting guerilla warefare against the germans in ww2. Dude was a stone cold killer in his day.
It was magical, Sir Lee
That it was
I love how such a great actor like Sir Christopher Lee is still so humble and grateful he has the chance to play Count Dooku
Star Wars actors pre original trilogy success:
“It was the worst role I’ve ever taken in my life”
Star Wars actors post original trilogy success:
“It’s an honor to even be in this room”
Lmaooo
Dunno, Hamill seemed to always like it. So did Cushing.
It was just Ford and Guinness who weren't so keen. Not sure about Fisher or Daniels.
I think the OT actors are quite misunderstood. Yes they thought the dialogue was bad but they were allowed to fix that and Alec Guiness disliked that he would be remembered by so many for that movie when he thought that he had played roles in other movies that he wanted people to remember him for or that he thought were as important and Ford was almost the same thing that some people seem to only know him as Han Solo and he gets tired of it
It's funny seeing the dynamic of older people in Star Wars. Some didn't like it and some of them loved it, lol.
That it is. Alec Guinness didn’t like it all that much lol
@@CantinaTalkSW tbf he didnt like how people talked to him as if its real and didnt know he had other big roles before since alec guinnis was on the level of marlon brando, christopher lee had lord of the rings for the younger fans wouldnt just see him as dooku so there was also that
@@username.exenotfound2943yeah. None of the actors hated the roles from what I have come to understand but some seem to dislike that they are only remembered for that one role by most people when they have done so much more
I miss him! I only feel this way towards a small handful of celebrities who have passed now. When he said, 'It's magic!' That resonated with me in the moment and i cried a little bit....it use to be magic! Now its $$$!😅
LoTR, Star Wars, Shakespeare this man has done it all and the fact he shows Star Wars so much respect is on another level too
RIP forgot to say
Agreed. He is a legend
RIP 🐐
I love Lee's outlook on life and acting. A man who has seen the horrors of war more vividly than even many who had fought along side him, and he plays an evil space wizard in some movies... it's just wild
RIP Christopher Lee, you shall be missed you absolute legend😢😢😢
A more elegant person, for a more civilized time.
Rest in peace Christopher Lee, and thank you for giving life to characters like Count Dooku, Saruman and Ansem the Wise.
Sir Alec Guinness: *could not have cared less about being in the SW original trilogy
Sir Christopher Lee: *could never be more grateful to have been in the SW prequel trilogy
Well, one of his best friends was in the original trilogy.
Sir C. Lee, Saruman and Dooku, this man in his later years inmortalized himself in two of the most iconic franchises in the history of cinema
Even in death, Christopher Lee will always be considered one of the most highly recognizable and respected actors in cinematic history. May he rest in peace 🫡 🦇 👑
Christopher Lee was one of a kind. I could listen to that man talk about anything.
And that's how you talk about a beloved franchise you are apart of.
Words of wisdom, Sir Christopher Lee One of the greatest classical actors ever born and one of the greatest best choices ever picked for Star Wars. Bravo😊
One of greats! RIP, Christopher Lee!
If I remember correctly he was actually originally offered the role of the Emperor in ROTJ, and honestly, that performance would’ve been spectacular.
a legendary character and acter who will never be forgotten RIP and love to sir Christopher lee💔
I really love when actors talk about a role like this, especially from someone like Lee who has been in all kinds of films
Love this man he takes all his roles seriously even as a villain u can't help but love him ❤
I wish I was like him. He's a very grounded thankful person
R.i.p to Christopher lee,one of the best actors of our time for both star wars and lord of the rings

Sir Christopher is an international treasure and the most interesting man in the world. God rest him
The Dos Equis guy looks up to Sir Christopher Lee.
When you hear Sir Christopher Lee talk about Count Dooku, you realize how perfect he fitted into the role.
Dude was a class act. Never seen or heard him bad mouthing Star Wars or the fans. Looking at you Lucas and Ford. 😂😅
Christopher Lee was an awesome actor and person , he was so perfect for Dooku , Dracula etc and z very sklled swordsman .
Christopher Lee's Count Dokku was definitely the most elegant Sith EVER
No one else could ever portay count dooku the way christopher lee did. He had the look, the charisma, the atmosphere you actually believed he was a powerful jedi once and believed him even as a sith lord. I wish he would have gotten more screen time, or we saw more portrayal of him, especially like a flashback of him as a jedi master.
I absolutely loved his character in TCW
Rip Christopher lee😢 True Gentleman
Thank you so much Mr Lee for the many epic characters you brought to life!
Christopher Lee was who I was named after by my mother....he played Dracula and it was her favorite version. He will forever be immortalized in my mind as an amazing actor, a gifted military man, and an honorable human being.
It's not everyday you can say that about an actor
Amazing actor, who loved his phantasy stuff, and also sang in metalband. A man with soo many talents.
To quote Lee himself... "You are mistaken. I do not sing in a heavy metal band. I sing symphonic metal."
@@JeremiahEcks777 Jup, his voice is amazing with the music. Love every minute of the music.
Rip Sir Christopher Lee, we will never see someone like you ever again
Nobody mentions how Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were a magnificent double act in the old Hammer horror movies .
I think it's a wonderful callback that they both appeared in Star Wars as well.
I love that in SW and in lotr, he plays an amazing villain, sort of the second biggest antagonist and dies in the start of the 3rd movie.
My favorite actor that made Dooku my favorite Star Wars Character and vice versa.
Count Dooku really was a very good character. He is sith gentlemen with reserved strength!
Christopher Lee was just so awesome within Star Wars and real life. The man lived what so many desire and he gave it all. Hail Count Dooku
I love he, as a sophisticated and educated person, still praised Star Wars for the wonderful story it is without downplaying even though it was regarded as a dumb adventure franchise for kids and nerds. Really shows how respectful of an actor and person he is
A truly wonderful actor, and an even better person. Rest in peace, you are dearly missed.
Fun fact: Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were thrown out of a movie theater for laughing too loud at a Looney Tunes cartoon that was shown during an intermission.
Very nice voice that was coined in classic theatre practice
Loved Count Dooku. Pure class even tho he was evil. RIP Sir Christopher Lee.
Sir Christopher Lee is the GOAT of Acting, these movies and most movies of Fantasy would not have been as Great and told in such ways that made these movies what they are. Fucking Awesome Man, not one like him today, all these actors today's don't have much vision like those who came up in Air Christopher Lees Generation. RIP
RIP 🐐
I love how in the moment before Dooku gets his head cut off, you can see in his face that everything makes sense to him. He realizes that he was just a pawn used by Sidious, and that the true apprentice was Anakin, even if he didn't know it yet.
RIP Christopher Lee
Christopher Lee is such a wonderful talented man!!!!
Chris Lee heavily commanded all his scenes & was perfect as Dooku, every moment Lee acts on camera is a masterpiece or near it.
I never thought of Dooku as a Jedi... Always saw him as a sith but now I guess he kind of does fall in that grey area.
It's been scientifically proven that having Sir Christopher Lee in your movie increases the quality by 100,000 infinity fold.
Rest in peace, you titan of cinema.
Lee killed every scene he was in. He was the perfect choice for Dooku.
Sir Christopher Lee was incredible as Count Dooku in Star Wars and Saruman in Lotr. A Legend that will never be forgotten
Absolutely my favorite character and once I found out the real life actor is quite the same it makes it even better
He’s one of the characters that got the best treatment after the prequels even in Disney Star Wars with tales of the Jedi
RIP to an amazing person
No one could have played dooku as good as Christopher Lee but then again when you're Christopher Lee no one can play you like he can
His part , Guinness and the guy who is Sidious are the all time great picks for the franchise
Rest in peace Christopher Lee
Perfect cast for count dooku❤❤❤
Try to imagine the words „elegant“ and „sophisticated“ used in creating content in todays Disney Star Wars.
Christopher Lee is one of my favorite actors

Sir Christopher Lee is one with the Force. Rip
Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, Christopher Lee, great British actors
Sir Christopher Lee was the perfect actor for Count Dooku, if not for Darth Vader. His stance, voice and charisma wouldn't be less. But James' voice was also iconic for Darth Vader of course.
Perfect role for Count Dooku
“Twice the pride double the fall” a wise sith named tyranus once said
I'm glad to hear he enjoyed being in Star Wars. They were lucky to have him.
2002 was amazing. In my very first visit to cinema I saw Saruman, in my next visit i saw Count Dooku. As a 5 year kid I was impressed for the rest of my life
Christopher Lee was a man of MANY talents, it hurts to think that one day, there’ll be people who don’t know who he was…
R.I.P. Sir Christopher Lee.

its said that Christopher Lee performed all his own stunts, that fip in ROTS was all him.
it is also said no special effects were used, he can just shoot lightening from his hands XDXD

I just found out that Christopher Lee died in 2015 and I am completely heartbroken😢 count Dooku is gone. Chris Lee is gone. The actor I grew up with is gone. I got to meet him once more of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
