WORLD247 some snakes can also tell the difference between something with the live and dead even if you wiggle it around they're just that picky sometimes. snakes can also tell body warmth most snakes see in infrared meaning they see in body warmth and temperature a dead mouse would come up as having blue or maybe even green coloring and maybe a tiny bit of yellow this can be resolved by a microwaving the dead mouse for a couple of seconds though doesn't always work

Yes! We have a rat problem on our farm and instead of using poison we use our dogs to hunt them as well as encouraging native wildlife. We also use any baby nests we find to feed my rescue snakes. If the smell of a thawed out mouse stinks then they must have let it thaw long enough to where bacteria had a chance to grow and break down the mouse causing an odor, at that point it shouldn't be fed to the snake. I feed my snakes frozen thawed mice weekly and they dont smell at all. It's not normal for the mouse to smell.

Bro, it's understandable that some living things eat other living things but why would you do that deliberately? I mean if you had a dog and probably you might have one. Have you ever offered him a living chicken? Of course not. Because you give him dog food bought from a store. Then why you don't feed the snake with something like that. You can buy some kind of snake food in the store. That was really freaking hurtful.
While I do agree with your points that showing us him feeding is snake a baby mouse is upsetting most snakes actually do need live food, for a healthy diet, but yes. You are justified to think this is wrong I do as well.

Yes it can be dangerous,i am a victim of that sort of thing,i had a ball python i had gotten from a petco in the town near mine and the employee said that it fed on live but to feed it frozen for the first few weeks,once i had started feeding the live ones like i was told to do after the first few weeks the mouse bit a hole into my snakes belly,i went to a country max an told me the guy was completely wrong that the snake should have never even gone to live unless it was fed them in the first place an that i should have stayed with frozen,the guy said it wasn't my fault tho as i was just doing as i was told

Yes! We have a rat problem on our farm and instead of using poison we use our dogs to hunt them as well as encouraging native wildlife. We also use any baby nests we find to feed my rescue snakes. Circle of life! Amazing how many animal lovers happily feed their dogs and cats kibble and yet cry over a snake feeding video. 🤦🏼♀️

I wonder why people are so upset about feeding a newborn rat/ mouse to the snake. I said it many many times, but I will repeat it anyway, it happens in many many cases in the wild. For example, in Africa, Black mambas use to eat bird hatchlings when a nest is abandoned and the hatchling's mother is not in the vicinity. In Australia, other species of snakes and other reptiles use to eat small rodents (newborn ones too).

@@Raoulelcuervo captive snakes dont need that tho, what idiot would release their pet into the wild? newborn rats/mice are fine, but adult mice/rats can actually be dangerous to captive snakes. if left unattended, they could seriously injure the snake, ive seen eyes clawed out and snakes with exposed spines because the owner fed live rodents. frozen mice/rats are also much easier to store and cheaper than keeping live mice/rats around.

Me on the other hand I don't have snakes but a family use to own one, and he fed his snake alive mice and frozen ones that were thawed out which was just as gross 🤢 the smell was just terrible 🤷♂️ I on the other hand own cats and dogs 😅 and feed them cooked chicken 😁 and they love the chickkeeennn and any other meats 🤷♂️

If the smell of a thawed out mouse stinks then they must have let it thaw long enough to where bacteria had a chance to grow and break down the mouse causing an odor, at that point it shouldn't be fed to the snake. I feed my snakes frozen thawed mice weekly and they dont smell at all. It's not normal for the mouse to smell.
