If you need to use a USB-C/Thunderbolt-connected display such as the Apple Studio Display ,then you will need the Quiizlab Pro instead of the demonstrated Quiizlab Max. The difference is in the two USB-C ports on the back: one is marked Computer and the other is 5v. Connect the 5v one to an external USB-C power supply, thus freeing up one Thunderbolt port on the Mac Mini to be used with the display. On the other hand, if you have an M2 ro Mac mini, you have four Thunderbolt ports and no need to use external power with the hub/dock.
This is no longer correct. Qwiizlabs have recently changed the Max model so that it can now be powered exactly the same way as the Pro model. See here: ruclips.net/video/3AeECzwRaJc/видео.html
INTERNAL STORAGE EXPANSION - supports M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD up to 4TB, 2.5-inch SATA SSD up to 8TB and 2.5-inch SATA HDD up to 2TB to expand storage for Mac mini and Mac studio.
Mine quit after one month and there was NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, NONE! Could not get any help so Amazon from whom I purchased it refunded my money. Quizlab has a hell of a big marketing campaign going on with all these RUclips videos, but it SUCKS. Buy a different brand.
Hi. Great video! I noticed the front usb-a port says usb3.1 gen2 but given macs have never had gen 2 usb ports, aren't you limited to gen 1 speeds? Even with this hub?
I was only able to get 336 MB/s read, 706 MB/s write with a Mac. If you need faster speed than this, you'll need a Thunderbolt hub/dock which is going to be way more expensive. E.g. www.trebleet.com/product-page/mac-mini-thunderbolt-3-dock-with-nvme-sata-slot-cfexpress-card-slot-gray
I have the model that allows for the 2 drives (I only have a 1 T SSD), and I have started having this problem intermittently. I sometimes have constant warnings popping up ... "Disk not ejected properly". I thought it might the be disk going bad, but it is really a problem with the Quiizlab??
@@teohontech7141 Thank you! Just ordered the Max with your ProMo Code:) I think the connection to the MacMini is a little diffrent, too. No we will see how long it takes to Germany as Qwiizlab has no information about shipping (duration).
@@teohontech7141 My two have their own power blocks and both have ejection problems. I 'm now on my 3rd and 4th units and they are doing it as well. Pretty much junk at this point.
How do you turn it off? What if I use a dedicated power instead of the Mac mini USB? What happens if I turn off the Mac mini with dedicated power? Thanks..
Has anyone looked at the Thunderbolt/USB4 hub with SSD support from Trebleet. Only one I seed that supports Thunderbolt Daisy Chain ports along with internal ports for NVME SSD and 2.5 SATA SSD? More expensive, sure, not when you release you don’t need a separate NVME case. Also supports CFexpress B as well as UHS-II SD cards and micro SD.
There are some on Macrumors forum talking about it. I'm interested in that but did not buy because I want a dock that can be powered by USB and not another connection to power outlet.
That's the only difference. Since this will use up both TB4 ports, if you want to have dual display setup, you'll have to get the dock with the HDMI + DP so that you can use Mac Mini's HDMI + either HDMI/DP on the Qwiizlab.
I have two of these units, each powered by their own power block. Both units will self eject the ssd slot The company sent two replacements and they do the same.
I read that it's a problem with some models, or it's not compatible with certain models of Mac Mini. But I did not experience that myself though and I'm still using this as my main dock.

Very informative! Thank you
I get many ssd Ejection errors with this hub. Looking at Amazon reviews, this seems to be a common problem

Hi Teoh, Can use this system on a Macbook Pro with a Monitor?
You can. But check out the laptop docking stations from Minisopuru
have you tested the Qwizlab for the 'Disk Not Ejected Properly' issue that is affecting Thunderbolt 1/2/3 enclosures?

what is the diffrence beetween the U25 Max und the U25Pro?

Mine keeps ejecting my NVMe, particularly if I try to copy large video files to the NVMe internal drive. Reading others have this issue also.
Probably due to lack of power to the Qwiizlab

Yes
Has anyone got the hdmi or display ports to work? I have this unit and no matter what combination I use I cannot get these two ports to work.

Can you use external power supply with this? Or do you need use both USB C ports in Mc Mini?
Both USB-C ports have to be used for best performance. If you use only one cable with another cable to power source, transfer speed is affected.
what is the difference between the pro and the max version?
Pro has HDMI and DisplayPort output

It would be so much better without all the ugly labels on the ports.
