How to make a Fabric Plant Holder

Here's a quick way to make a beautiful cover for your planters. I use cotton canvas to make them more sturdy. Add embellishments like yo-yos to make them really stand out!

I’m a little muddled. At the beginning it states add 2 inches to the circumference but you only add a half inch to the base. That makes the base to small. What am I missing ?
